We loved the location. Overall the house was well appointed and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we liked the dining areas. The house layout was unconventional, although we got used to it and came to appreciate it. For a family, I would have preferred the bedrooms closer to each other. The downstairs king bed was too soft for my comfort and the downstairs queen was squeaky. The rec room seemed a little musty, and so we didn't use it much. Otherwise, the house was clean and I really appreciated that there weren't any fake fragrance smells/overwhelming laundry detergent vibes that rentals often have. Overall I'd recommend.

The house had a lot of nice areas for gathering - the dining room, kitchen eating area, two sitting rooms, patio. Our family members really liked the en-suite aspect of each bedroom. It was so nice to have our own bathrooms. The decor was lovely. Furnishings were comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed, and appliances were user friendly and in good condition. Location was very pleasant and quiet.

We enjoyed our visit - it is a peaceful spot on the hill near Carmel, and is a great base for doing things in the area.The kitchen initially was short of basic things, such as enough pans and wine glasses, but staff was very quick to address those concerns.

Excellent place in Carmel!

Our family of 9 including children had a great stay at the Carmel nest property by Santuary Vacation Rentals. I would have given the property more than 5 stars if it was possible. It is large house that’s been beautifully maintained with tasteful interiors. The location is amazing in a quite residential neighborhood less than 5mins drive to ocean ave. I highly recommend it. A small feedback for the property managers - the hvac system heats some rooms more than others which can make it uncomfortable in both the hot and cold room. Also, two of the toilets were not getting drained properly. Please fix these. Everything else is great.

The property was as expected for the price. This may sound picky but the dishwasher was challenging to program and The kichen cabinets had dysfunctional hinges. Other than that the stay was fine.

Wonderful stay in Carmel

We had three couples stay for three nights. It was a great house as there were three bedrooms with three baths; so we all got privacy but also a way to have communal meals and time together. The area is quiet and within easy driving to 17 mile drive and the aquarium.

Unique property with pluses and minuses

This is a unique property that represents a good value in an expensive area. The unique features will appeal to some but not all visitors. The property management company was extremely easy to deal with and was very responsive. The property itself has a unique floor plan that provides privacy for occupants of all three bedrooms (Each of which has an en-suite bathroom). The house was very clean, well equipped and well maintained. The neighborhood was attractive and very quiet. Despite what other reviews have indicated, I would not consider this house walkable to the downtown Carmel area. It is a long winding walk with no sidewalks for much of the way and the streets are very dark after sunset. The walk back from town is also fairly steep uphill. A final observation - a number of other reviewers have commented on the soft or squishy beds. We found two of the three beds quite comfortable but the third, which would appear to be the primary bedroom with a king size bed was way too soft. On closer inspection, we discovered it has a 3-inch foam mattress topper. Perhaps some people like this feel but we considered it almost unusable and were surprised that the mattress has not been replaced given the nightly rate for this otherwise nice home.

Beautiful home in a great location

Overall our stay was great. The home is beautiful and in a wonderful location. We were able to walk to town from the house which was nice. Unfortunately the heater was not working properly during our stay. The property management team was prompt about responding and sending someone out to look at it, but it was a more complicated fix and could not be fixed during our stay. The management team was helpful and worked with me on this issue which I appreciated. Even with the heater issue, we still enjoyed our stay here and especially loved exploring Carmel and the surrounding towns.

Lovely House in Carmel

+ The house is well equipped. Property management very responsive. Easy check in. Clean & plenty of space. Good quiet location. Easy access to Carmel, beaches, state parks, Monterey etc. A lovely time - We found the beds uncomfortably squishy. Platforms protrude about 4 inches beyond mattresses -- bumping hazard esp in the dark. Also pillows are some weird lumpy foam.

Carmel Nest

We enjoyed our stay. The house had two separate "wings" which made for a good amount of privacy for all of us. We loved that each bedroom (+ media room) had a bathroom. We would have preferred firmer beds. Also, the driving directions were confusing and didn't work for us (driving south on hgwy 1). We ended up using GPS and it worked out fine. You may want to consider removing those directions from the documents you send out to renters. The property managers were very responsive when I needed to communicate with them. Thank you for that!

Epic Mother/daughter trip

Our Senior girls in High School wanted to take a trip with their mothers for Sprjng Break and this was the best trip. The house was amazing with many seating places we could use for our group. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The house was walkable to the town if people wanted to go down the beach or get coffee in town. Lots of beautiful flowers around too to enjoy. Thanks for a lovely stay and for the memories.

Very clean and well maintained home

Both bedrooms on the street level do not have walk in showers which makes it difficult for those who have difficulty stepping into a tub . The house was very nice and clean and a great location
