The ocean views at this property deserve nothing less than 5 stars, but the house itself was uncomfortable and the property management spoiled our trip. The day we were to arrive the management texted that there was construction "in the neighborhood" but what they meant was that there was construction happening literally next door. What we expected (and paid a premium for) to be a serene and peaceful ocean escape was filled with loud jackhammering and drilling. The construction workers were right outside our "private patio", it was not the romantic seclusion we thought we bought. The management reacted defensively when I reached out about our disappointment and offered nothing to make it right. We should have been given the heads up and option to change our plans given the circumstances. The house itself was very rustic and like you were in a museum; we didn't want to touch anything as there were signs all over threatening fines if they detected that you didn't use coasters. I would recommend finding another beautiful house in Carmel that is more welcoming, comfortable to be inside and peaceful. And avoid Sanctuary vacation rentals.
