Carlsbad Beach

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Bobs......its a great property in a fantastic location and only a 5 minute walk into town. You wont be disappointed !

Great Stay in Carlsbad!

We had a great stay over the Thanksgiving holiday! The property was perfect for our group of 6. Great open area on the 2nd floor for all of us to hang out. Unfortunately due to the weather we didn't get to hangout much on the rooftop patio or enjoy the beach much. But the house was super close to the beach and to downtown Carlsbad. We even left behind an iPod and Bob, the owner, had it in the mail to us just a day or two later. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a stay in this location!

Perfect Vacation Rental

The location of this property was perfect. The house was well equipped with everything we needed for our 2 months stay. The house was clean and well appointed. The space accommodated my husband and I plus a family of 5 for their week-long stay. The owner was easy to communicate with and very responsive. We were close to the beach (half a block and across the street); less than 1 mile to a grocery store. Carlsbad Village was an easy walk and had several coffee shops, numerous restaurants, retail shops, and the Coaster Train station. The Coaster runs from San Diego to Oceanside and is an excellent alternative to driving in congested traffic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to rebook this house.

Beach house

The location of this home is superb! It’s so easy to walk to the beach. At night & at quiet times of the day the sound of the waves is audible. The home is comfortable and well stocked with a full kitchen, laundry, beach towels & beach gear. I would recommend this home for a short or long stay.

Great Property, Great Location!

We loved Bob's Carlsbad beach house! We were so close to the water that we kept the windows open at night so the surf could lull us to sleep. The house itself was laid out nicely, plenty of room for me, my wife, and our 11-y.o. twins (boy/girl). Great location, too! Close to I-5, quick drive into San Diego and, of course, the zoo. 10 minute walk into downtown Carlsbad, with tons of restaurants, shops, etc. Grocery stores, gas stations, etc. at the Tamarack exit off of I-5, 10 min. east. All in all, highly recommended. Hope to come back.

Immaculate Home Near the Beach.

This place was 100% as advertised... Mint condition, gorgeous Decor. Kitchen was well appointed w/ every tool, pan, pot etc. needed. View deck was a great place to hang out while our Tri-Tip cooked on the BBQ. Really Nice Host !!

We will be back!

Everything about the place was perfect ... the location (less than a block from Carlsbad Blvd and the ocean; plus walking distance to great restaurants and shopping), the cleanliness of the condo, the degree everything had been updated (kitchen and the main shower), and the feeling that we were at “home”. Bob keeps the property in great shape and has an eye for detail. When I was going to the top deck to use the grill in the dark, I said in my mind, “I know Bob will have a light above the grill” ... and he did! Thanks for adding to our Christmas memories Bob!

Perfect Family Beach Nest!

Two grandparents, two parents, two young grandkids, sunshine, breeze, Legoland, beach, fun dining options and a kite—perfection! Our family had a delightful stay at this tasteful, comfortable Carlsbad home. The beach was literally at the end of the street, and the crowds were many blocks away. Kitchen was well-equipped, the furnishings beautiful but practical. And Bob was extremely kind, even stopping by to place inside the luggage that arrived long after we did. Incredibly hospitable-made our trip memorable and a pleasure. Would return tomorrow if I could!

Everything was exactly as presented. We really enjoyed the roof top deck, being able to walk to the beach and to the village. We plan to be back to Carlsbad very soon......

Great location, well maintained; attentive owner

House was in great shape, and is a very short walk to the beach. Beds were comfortable, and 3 kids had a blast. Nice 3rd floor roof balcony with a Weber gas grill for sunset meals. Amazon Prime, Netflix, HBO etc all available for evenings. Had we known how well-stocked the house was with beach gear, we might have packed quite a bit lighter: sand toys, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, coolers, etc. All we really needed to bring to have fun at the beach were wet suits (in December) and surf boards. Bob was great to work with, and very responsive. On the first night, we found the DVD player to be inoperative. I emailed Bob the next morning, and by mid-day he had a new player in box and asked when he could come install it.

Comfortable beach house with everything you need!

I stayed at Bob's rental for a week with my two kids (toddlers) and a couple friends. I've rented a couple other places in the area and was really impressed by the house - it's so comfortable and well stocked with everything you need. I would go back here in a heartbeat.

A Tranquil Home away from home

We stayed in the property over Christmas break with some of our family visiting from Canada. All of us couldn't be more happy with the house. Spacious with all the amenities, washer and dryer in the garage, nicely equipped kitchen, two balconies, large windows facing the ocean and a killer roof patio on which to soak in the sun and the views of the ocean, the home is a hidden gem. The photos don't do this home justice. The rooms are larger than they appear with many thoughtful touches -- think postal stamps and stationery in the writing desk drawer, and crayons, etch-a-sketch, toys, boogie board and a kids wagon for the little ones. Most importantly -- the location can't be beat. It's half a block away from the beach with unobstructed views of the ocean and sunsets at your disposal from the spacious roof patio. Last but not least it's only a 5-10 min walk away from Carlsbad Village Drive with its multitude of restaurants, coffee shops and bars. And if you're planning to explore places further out, Carlsbad is nicely situated between San Diego and Los Angeles which makes for a great base for trips to San Diego (think the Zoo, etc) down south on the one hand and Anaheim (Disneyland) and Los Angeles (Universal Studios) up north on the other. Bob and Sue were wonderful to work with to set up our stay. Rental agreement was no-nonsense, short and to the point. Communication was top notch, we always knew where we were in the process. Not only do we highly recommend this property, but we have already come back for our second stay with family from overseas in February. Thank you, Bob and Sue.

Truly a "Home" away from home

My husband and I spent 6 fantastic weeks in this vacation rental starting on Valentines Day. The only negative thing that either of us could think of was that the time was just too short! The home was very well appointed, tastefully decorated and comfortable. It was a very easy place to settle into, with an unbelievable amount of storage throughout. The gas fireplace in the living room has a terrific fire which provided great ambiance on the few rainy nights we had. The recently renovated kitchen was very easy to work in, and the gas range & large fridge much appreciated. We found the home well stocked with all the basics, and although we did not require beach supplies or equipment for children, we noted that there was an abundance of both, which would make this a great vacation home for families with children. Having an attached double car garage was fantastic and allowed easy storage of golf clubs and bikes. As this home is only a half a block off the beach, the location was outstanding. We could easily walk to the village to enjoy wandering the shops or any one of dozens of restaurants. We were able to alternate days with long bike rides or beach walks, and a large variety of golf courses within a 30 minute drive. Easy access to I-5 made trips into San Diego for airport pickups or to attend theater events simple and we also took advantage ot the commuter train for urban day trips. The neighbourhood is a quiet one, although you do hear the trains starting fairly early in the morning ( they don't run through the night). As the home is half a block back from Carlsbad Boulevard, there was no traffic noise which was great. Bob and Sue are acommodating hosts, providing lots of literature and advice on the Carlsbad area. They are very proud of their vacation rental (as they should be) and that pride of ownership shows. We highly recommend this property.
