A wonderful place to relax and enjoy island life! The water and beaches are perfect. Sandy is amazing and the best host you will ever have. We truly recommend visiting!

North Captiva

The home is one if not the cleanest VRBO we have stayed in. The home was well stocked, host very responsive. This location is what VRBO should be and host Sandy was great.

Best VRBO We Have Ever Stayed At

You do not need to look further as this is the best property on this island. Not only is the house beautiful and centrally located, the host thought of every single detail.

Wonderful!

Gumbo Limbo did not disappoint. Newly remodeled, perfect size for two people looking for something quiet and close to everything. Hosts were quick to respond and great to deal with. Will stay here again for sure!

We had a wonderful stay at Gumbo Limbo. The house was in the perfect location and had everything you could need. Sandy was quick and helpful with all communication and any questions we had. We can’t wait to come back.

Family Vacation

We had such a wonderful stay at Gumbo Limbo! The house is soo cozy with a cottage feel, it was clean, welcoming and conveniently located to everything. Our check in to check out process was smooth and Sandy was soo accommodating. We’ll be back next summer!

North Captiva gem

We had a wonderful stay at this island home. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the nearby surroundings. Very clean, well equipped and amenities were easily accessible. Sandy was an exceptional host and went above & beyond for us… very responsive and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Great escape to North Captiva

House was perfectly lovely & well appointed! Super kitchen, baths (++outdoor shower), sheets, towels comfortable furniture & beds! Ideal location…close to boat launch & pools, enjoyed golf carting to beach & playing pickleball daily. Everything was clean, easy & uncluttered! A+ getaway!

Great Host / Amazing Home / Terrific Location!

We had a very memorable week at Gumbo Limbo on North Captiva! Sandy was a terrific host and the home was everything we had hoped for and more. This special beach home was well equipped and beautifully appointed. It was close to several beaches and other amenities on the island. We hope to return! Thank you Sandy.

Best Spring Break Ever!!

Magical island property, perfect fit for our family of four. We loved access to TWO swimming pools, the tennis courts, and endless beach exploration. The house was perfectly appointed, well designed, and we felt right at home upon arrival. Sandy is a true gem - quick communication and thoughtful welcome gifts for the fam. Highly recommend - you will make incredible memories!

AMAZING!

Gorgeous home with everything we needed for cooking and beach fun! Really appreciated access to the two clubs' pool and amenities- quite a chilly week so it was great to be able to hit the pool and get out of the wind at the beach. We used Debbie at Fresh Pick Grocery for grocery shopping and delivery, she's fantastic! We will definitely be back, thanks for everything Sandy!

Amazing stay

We had the most amazing experience with Sandy! She was so communicative and kind. She had the house stocked with anything we could ever need and if she didn’t have something, she knew exactly where to find it! The house was so nice and clean, the perfect getaway! Will definitely be back soon!

Gumbo Limbo was the perfect place. The location is amazing for sure. Sandy was the best hostess and communicator. She helped us with recommendations for all our needs. Our stay was nothing short of perfect! From Sandy’s communication during booking to the goodies left for us at check-in, Sandy proved to be the most hospitable host. Wonderful Rental!

This is a beautiful and well maintained rental property. My kids and I really enjoyed our stay on North Captiva and in this property. Lovely furniture, new appliances, and just a nice space to be in -- lots of natural light and a beautiful setting around it. Owners were easy to work with and made the whole process a pleasure. We would love to come back to North Captiva and would jump at the chance to stay in this property again. Thank you!

Loved it!

What a gorgeous little house on a gorgeous little island! The house is clean, decorated perfectly and has everything you need. The couch and chairs are so comfortable and so was the bed! We loved this little place and had a great week on North Captiva Island. Sandy was so great to deal with and answered every question we had. Favorite part was the sandbar at the beach where you can walk so far out into the ocean and watch dolphins swim by and collect sand dollars! Oh yeah, don’t forget to get a pina colada at Mangos!

Simply Amazing

This is our 4th place we have stayed on the island and it truly was our favourite. We are big tennis players, so proximity to safety harbour was key. Although the house looks at the courts, the neighbour does not allow you to cross his property so the walk is a little longer than expected. Also great to have membership/easy access to island club. Teens loved being able to walk everywhere. House is immaculate and host were wonderful to deal with. Absolutely will be back. FYI cart rental is separate. Not sure anyone ever showered inside, outdoor shower was a bonus.

Amazing island, lovely accomodations - perfect for our small family

We cannot say enough about our experience on North Captiva Island! The accommodations were perfectly appointed with just what we needed (kitchen and bath essentials, high chair, pack'nplay, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.) We loved the proximity to the beach and access to the pools for the kids. As of March 2023, there is no store on the island so make sure to bring any consumables with you! Homes and amenities are still recovering from the hurricane. One restaurant is open and another only for lunch. Loved seeing the Gopher Tortoises, manatees, dolphins, osprey, etc. Host was very thorough and helpful with figuring out the logistics (taxi, ferry, golf cart rental, etc.) Cannot wait to plan a return trip!

A week in paradise at Gumbo Limbo

Gumbo Limbo was heavenly. The house is beautifully decorated and immaculately maintained. Everything we needed was there: a fully stocked kitchen of cookware, filtered water and ice maker, cozy linens, comfy furniture and all beach accessories.The location is perfect, quietly nestled in among the lush landscape and a short golf cart ride to beaches and resort pools.Sandy's advance recommendations, check-in instructions and welcome package surpassed what this professional event-planner expected.We had a few minor questions during our stay and Sandy's response time was lightning fast and helpful.Groceries from Publix/Instacart was a snap and very much needed. There is really nowhere to shop on the island the the little markets are insanely expensive.Advance reservations for over-the-water restaurant highly recommended and remember to bring your own wine/beer when you go there for dinner.We had so much fun exploring all of the beaches and resort offerings. We were completely "at home" in no time. Can't wait to return next year!
