Larry was a great host. My son left his wedding ring behind and Larry was kind enough to mail it to us. House is in a great location. Short walk to beach, restaurants and souvenir store. Kitchen is equipped with most everything you need to cook. Pool is added bonus. We had a good time during Christmas week.

Location, location, location (and pool)

We were three adults and two grandchildren. The pool at this house is lap-style which was perfect for us, much superior to a rounder pool. There could be two different games going on at the two ends and adults got to do laps. It is shallow at the ends and deeper in the middle, also a great thing. (One wish: that the steps to the pool at the street side could be repaired so one could exit from that end.) The cleaning system uses salt rather than chlorine which is fantastic. Super clean.Kitchen: minimal cooking equipment, but enough for us. Dishwasher is a bit elderly, but worked fine. Two different kinds of coffee pots: automatic drip and Keurig.Living area is comfortable and there are tons of CDs and a sound system that has speakers at the pool. Ceiling fans in every room. AC worked well.Everything was very, very clean. Downstairs bathroom is a bit tight but manageable. Showers are excellent, as is hot water supply. Soap was provided, a very nice extra touch. To consider: installing grab bars in the showers.Beds are great. There could be more pillows and the extras should probably have pillow cases for hygiene and preserving them.The beach is just down the block and there are very few cars on the street (almost none; we walked in the middle of the street.) Umbrellas (two!), numerous chairs and a big beach cart are provided. The surf is minimal and there is okay shelling. Walking distance to great restaurants. Iguanas of all sizes, ospreys and turtles thrilled the kids.

Better than advertised

This property had absolutely everything you could ask for in a vacation house. Very peaceful location but the beach is close enough to walk to. Larry the owner was very nice and quick to respond to any questions we had. All in all a very happy experience.

Perfect Spring Break Getaway

From the time we arrived, Larry was communicative and helpful. The location was perfectly located - easy walk to the beach, to get ice cream, or to the Island store. And the house had everything we needed. Check out tasks were the easiest of any VRBO we have stayed in. We hope to be back again next year!

Hop, skip, and a jump from the Beach!

This property really is in an excellent location. The beach is about 5 minutes and is located away from resorts, so you have lots of space. Dining and shopping are right around the corner, literally! We drove to Sanibel for larger grocer

Nice Stay in Captiva

We just returned from a week in Captiva and had a great time. We had two families with 4 children in the house. The location is great and close to everything in town. The beds were comfy and the kids enjoyed the pool. It was really nice having the beach gear there for us to use as well. Larry was very friendly and was able to let us check in early which was nice. Only things I would mention is that the downstairs bathroom for the queen bedroom is rather small for two adults to use (only one person could fit at a time), and the living space is smaller than what we were expecting, but we did really enjoy the sun room in the evenings. We had a great time and would do it again.

Wonderful family week!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The property fit our family perfectly. The pool was always the perfect temperature to walk straight into and find refreshing but not too warm and not too cold. We appreciated well stocked dish detergent, dishwasher pods, better than industrial grade toilet paper, and plenty of garbage bags. The outdoor shower was useful for rinsing off when coming in from the beach. Having access to the Tommy Bahama backpack chairs and umbrellas was a complete game changer and made it very manageable to get our crew of 3 adults and 2 young children to the beach without any problems. The covered table by the pool was perfect for picnic lunches most days and the fan always kept it comfortable! We walked to Boops most nights and often ordered cheese dip and chips from Captiva Cantina next door to bring home. We loved this property and will stay again in a heartbeat!

Sun and House

The Sun and Moon House was perfect for our family. The pool was wonderful. The short walk to beach was easy with wagon and chairs provided. Everything we needed was provided. Larry responded quickly to my questions.

Captiva Island

Larry has done a fantastic job with his home on Captiva. The kitchen has everything you would need & lots of storage for groceries. We loved the music set up inside & outside. Walk to beach was perfect & wagon with big wheels made it even easier. Thank you for allowing us to use your home.

Spring Break 2024

We really enjoyed our stay. The house super-clean, well-stocked and ready for us. There was even music playing on the stereo as we arrived. The beach chairs, umbrellas and toys were great. We really liked having the wagon to haul our stuff down to the beach on our short walk. The pool was perfect for us. All in all, we had a great stay and hope to come back soon.

Lovely Family Stay

Great for a stay with extended family. My in-laws slept on the main floor and my immediate family got our own floor upstairs. The house was clean and well-kept. The beach was never over-crowded. The pool is heated and kept at a perfect temperature. The screened in patio with covered outdoor dining area made me forget about Florida bugs every evening. We’ll definitely be returning.

Great Location and perfect family house.

The house was clean, exactly what we needed for a week, and close to all restaurants on the island plus a private beach area within 0.2 miles which was a nice walk. Only thing I’d have to comment on was 1 of the bathroom’s showers was a little tight. Getting into and out of the shower was awkward.

The Sun & Moon is the best!!!

This was our second time staying at the Sun & Moon. Both times were two-week stays. I thought Sanibel was laid back and relaxing, but staying at the Sun & Moon was a whole new level of relaxing. We thought we would miss not having the gulf view, but the casual walk to the beach was actually an enjoyable event for our avid shell seekers. Highly recommended for all who want to relax in the tranquil environment of Captiva.

Sun & Moon did not disappoint.

The 6 of us had a great time celebrating the new year and a birthday. Location is as good as any in Captiva, easy walk to the beach, restaurants, store and even the Farmers Market. We had everything we needed for a great stay.

Perfect trip

The Sun and Moon is a lovely home with great gathering areas inside and out! The location has to be the best on the island - walking distance to most every restaurant and the beach. A short golf cart ride away from anywhere else on the island. Larry is the perfect host! We will be back:-)!!!

First Time - Best Time On Captiva

Hurricane Ian pushed us off of Sanibel and onto Captiva. We were over the top happy with Captiva and our accommodations at the “Sun and Moon.” There was plenty of space for five adults. The common areas were great and the natural lighting was great. Everyone loved the privacy and quietness of the pool. Throughout our stay the owner, Larry Hahn, made sure our stay was the best. Two more months and we will be back at the “Sun and Moon.”

Shelling & Swimming Fun

Our family (husband, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters (3yrs., 3mths.) loved our vacation at the Sun & Moon. Larry had the beautiful house ready for us when we arrived. It is well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing, fun time. All beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of linens and towels. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen but also walked to 2 of the restaurants that were close by. We did experience a tropical storm while there but never lost power and felt very safe in the house. Larry texted and checked on us too. The pool and lanai area are fabulous and we spent a lot of time there! We are looking forward to a return visit in 2024!
