House stocked with all that you need for cooking, cleaning, pool and beach. Loved that its is one of the only few ranch homes on Captiva and has a large porch, pool and yard that get sun. Close to everything

Perfect

We stayed at Mermaid house with another couple and had a wonderful time. The location was perfect…a short walk to the beach and to restaurants and a small grocery store. The home is beautifully but simply decorated. Our bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The salt water pool was pristine. We would stay here again. It would be nice if the 2nd bedroom had a king size bed for a 2nd couple. But that’s the only thing I would change.

Always perfect

We seem to always come back to Mermaid House because it works so well for my wife and me. Great location, immaculate, responsive and friendly owner, private pool and grounds. We look forward to our next visit.

Amazing

Mermaid Cottage was perfect for our beach vacation in Captiva. Larry communicated very well what to expect, logistics, etc. The cottage was clean and inviting and ideal location. The pool was an added bonus. Everything was great… only thing that would have made it better was if we could have stayed longer. 😁

The Perfect Retreat

This year was our first time staying at the Mermaid Beach House, but it won't be our last. We loved this cottage, located in the heart of Captiva. This house was the perfect size for a family of five with three small children. We spent our day at the beach in the morning and afternoon, just a short walk down the road and to the right. In the afternoon, we had lunch and spent our time swimming. The owners are friendly and live nearby should an emergency or need arise - they are very friendly! We are counting down the days till our next trip!

A little gem in paradise

While small in size, the Mermaid House was huge in enjoyment! Great location, bed was so comfy, place was immaculate, pool refreshing and clean, and the shed stocked with everything we needed poolside or at the beach. Short walk and we were at the beach every morning and evening.

Mermaid house in January

We had a lovely time despite weather conditions! Even with wind, rain, and cool temperatures we managed to walk, shell, and swim. The house had all the 'things' we needed - beach towels, great music selection, sharp knives, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, trash bags. It was perfect for the four of us!

Great stay over New Years!

Our family had a great stay at the Mermaid House over New Years! We visit Captiva annually and this was our first time back since hurricane Ian. The house, pool and grounds are in great shape and are just as depicted in the photos. It is a quick, easy walk over to the beach and the shed is filled with everything you will need for a perfect beach day. Larry was a great host. He went above and beyond by bringing us an item that was missing and communicated about a brief Wifi outage, even before we knew it wasn't working. We highly recommend this cozy Captiva home!

Great vacation!

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great for walking to restaurants and to the beach. It was very comfortable for my husband, myself and our two girls who loved all the mermaid stuff. Pool was fun!

An Amazing Home

I traveled with my husband and 86 year old mom. We have been coming to Sanibel/Captiva for 30+ years and have normally stayed on Sanibel. Due to Hurricane Ian, we stayed here and LOVED it. We wanted to come and support the businesses that were open - shopping and dining. The home is charming, cozy and spotlessly clean. While we did not cook, the home is equipped with everything needed to make a great meal. The decor is lovely. The pool/outdoor area was great. You could enjoy sitting in the sun if you wanted to get that suntan, or enjoy the screened in pool area which kept the sun to a minimum. The pool was a great temperature. This home was also great for my mom because she has some mobility issues and with only one small step up, it was easy for her to maneuver. Larry, the owner, was also a pleasure to deal with. Quick to respond to any questions you may have. We were fortunate enough to meet him on our last day. We will be back!

Beautiful Home

This is a very updated home with new appliances, furniture and just about everything you could possibly need! Our favorite thing was the pool right outside the living room door. We made use of the wagon to get to the beach. I did read in another post about the beach being a 2 minute walk, using the two paths you could try neither was that quick. We stayed for 2 weeks and loved it!!! Would definitely recommend!

If this property sounds and looks like what you are looking for, stop the search. Perfectly represented in pics and descrirption , the bonus was enjoying Captiva w/o it being overcrowded. Owner is responsive, spotlessly clean, great location to town and beach.

LOVED The Mermaid House!

Clean and homey island paradise

Beautiful and clean cottage with everything we needed from luxury beach towels to a beach wagon with all the chairs and toys we desired. We spent so much time in the pool and patio areas. We loved the screened in porch. It’s quiet with lots of frogs and lizards to try to catch. Loved the CD, DVD and book collections. Larry was the best and very attentive. We will be back!

Beautiful, well kept home on Captiva!

My family had a wonderful stay in this home on Captiva Island. The home was the perfect size for our family of five, we really loved the layout of the space and the enclosed pool was perfect. Kitchen had everything we needed for making meals, and the surrounding area offered plenty of restaurant options. The property is surrounded by beautiful gardens and our nature loving family loved watching the iguanas and birds from the pool. Great vacation, thank you!
