The house is beautiful, and the location and view is great! However, we had a list of issues. NO hot water until our last day (so - cold showers), a broken chair, the pocket door to the bath was stuck in the wall so we could not close the door where the shower is, no vanity lights in that bath - just wires showing, a broken screen laying against the house and 2 piles of animal feces on the balcony that the host said they'd clean up (we ended up doing it ourselves on our last day), the lights in the patio/entertainment area did not work, the water dispenser in the fridge did not work or the ice maker and we could not use the tap water as the reverse osmosis system was in-op making the water super salty and unusable for drinking or coffee. We contacted property management about the chair and hot water on the first day, then as the other issues arose. We also contacted the host. The hot water was the only issue resolved - on the afternoon of our last day. I asked our host for some reimbursement who forwarded my message to the prop mngt company. We requested 750 of the 2800 we had paid. Laurie at Tortuga (who was very responsive during all of this) sent our request to the owner and he never responded to either of us. I know problems arise and can be harder to address on the island. However, the silence from the host in the end - to not even address our request, is very disappointing. I feel like how a problem is addressed can speak volumes on how you do business.
