We arrived late in the evening to find a car in the garage the listing states was available for our use. I had planned to pull our car in the garage to unload our luggage late at night and was disappointed.
Multiple light bulbs were burned out (above the pool, in the master shower, and in one of the bedrooms), outlets in the master bath don't work (this has been complained about in a prior review), no hair dryer as stated in the listing. A bedroom closet door was off the track, and the other bedroom closet is full of large stuffed animals. Only one side of the toaster works, there were dirty plates in the cupboard, the hot water heater isn't large enough to accommodate the jacuzzi tub (the water turns cold before it is filled above the jets), the ceiling above the master shower is stained with ?, and the master bath smells like stale smoke.
While the house was clean and the toiletries were appreciated (soap, dish soap, paper towels and toilet paper were provided), the lanai was cluttered with furniture stacked in the corner and half inflated floaties strewn about, and pool deck was dirty/stained. The white fabric covered chairs on the lanai were also badly stained, and the pool screen door was broken.
I skimmed the pool more than once a day to remove tiny gnats and frogs. The pool cleaned up nicely. The pool company came and replaced the pump during our stay but didn't prime it so the fountains didn't run after he left. Another company came to service the pool while we were in it and allowed us to add the chemicals necessary later so we didn't have to get out for 2 hours after they were added.
Throw blankets would be a really nice addition to this home, and instructions for the alarm. It announces each time a door is opened, it took me a while to figure out how to disable the announcement on one of the pool doors so I could enjoy the outdoors while my family slept.
I reached out to the company to inquire regarding the car and make sure they knew about the issues. They offered to send someone out, but for our short (4 night) stay, we would rather not have someone in the home interrupting our vacation.
They informed me the lanai was cluttered due to a storm, but the storm moved up the coast 5 days prior to our arrival and the storm shutters were open, making me assume someone tended to the house post storm.
The home needs some attention to detail, and I won't rent from this company again.
