We stayed at Villa Carnicelli to celebrate my wife's birthday with a group of our friends. It was a wonderful weekend thanks to the amazing property and the fantastic hosts - Francesca and her parents. The house itself is renovated to such a high standard, with beautiful rooms and surroundings. Francesca and her family helped to make our stay extra special, we loved the amazing dinner for my wife's birthday and the pasta making class. We hope to return in the future to enjoy this beautiful villa again!

This Villa was like taking a step back in time. The owners have renovated to bring you modern amenities yet have taken special care to restore the history rather than erasing it. The owners were amazing hosts. The surrounding area had many small towns with plenty of charm.

The perfect Tuscan villa

This restored villa in the hills outside Lucca was a dream come true. Francesca is an amazing, charming host. From the fully stocked kitchen to the beautiful bedrooms with lovely linens to the outdoor seating areas among terra cotta pots of citrus, with a view of the spectacular valley below, Villa Carnicelli exceeded our wildest hopes. Truly a unique and magical place. We can't wait to return.

Villa Carnicelli completely exceeded all expectations. If you think it looks good on the photos, wait until you see it in real life! Francesca and her father couldn’t have been more helpful. We had a quick history lesson as we arrived, learning all about the origins of the incredible house, and lots of recommendations for shops and restaurants. The house was impeccably clean and comfortable. The worst part was having to leave!! We would come back in an instant

This villa is the most spectacular residence we've ever stayed at anywhere in the world. Everything you could ever need is readily available -- but more importantly, the hosts made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. Die Liebe zum Detail ist in jeder Ecke spürbar. Die herzlichen Vermieter und auch die Nachbarschaft standen uns stets mit Rat und Tat und Tipps zur Seite. Villa Carnicelli is an amazing, beautiful villa in the hills of Capannori. Francesca, our host is a lovely young woman and is prepared to do whatever it takes to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The villa is very clean and the restauration has been done on a high level. So is the disign inside. We were welcomed by Francesca with a homemade cake (very nice) olive oil and a handmade garlic grater. You feel right at home So, highly recommended!

Beautiful villa with lovely host

Brilliant week away in Tuscan countryside. Villa was very spacious as were the grounds. Recently restored to it's historic grandeur, very well equipped kitchen and outside BBQ area. Pool was big enough for family fun although as expected not a swimmers pool. Francesca was a delightful host and we also enjoyed the pasta class with Stefano at Non Mi Pasta Piu laboratory. Close to Pisa and Lucca and Florence/Siena/coast a day trip away. Highly recommended for a week away from it all...

Abbiamo soggiornato a Villa Carnicelli senza conoscere bene cosa ci aspettasse, spinti solo dalle splendide foto del casale. Eravamo un gruppo di 11 persone e possiamo solo dire che l’esperienza ha superato ogni aspettativa.La casa è bellissima, ristrutturata con gusto e curata in ogni dettaglio. Ogni ambiente è confortevole e perfettamente attrezzato. Al nostro arrivo abbiamo trovato un’accoglienza calorosa con una selezione generosa di prodotti locali: crostata, pasta fresca, ragù, formaggi... un gesto che ci ha fatto sentire immediatamente a casa.La posizione è ideale: immersa nella tranquillità delle colline toscane, ma comunque vicina a Lucca. Il momento più magico della giornata? Le lunghe colazioni sotto gli alberi nel giardino, circondati dal verde e dalla pace assoluta.Un ringraziamento speciale ai proprietari, gentilissimi e sempre disponibili. Un soggiorno indimenticabile che consigliamo con entusiasmo!

Home away from Home In Tuscany

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at this beautiful villa in Tuscany! From the moment we heard from Fransesca (the host) , we felt the warmth and felt at home. Her hospitality made our vacation truly special. The villa was perfect for our group of six adults and three children from Las Vegas, NV. We enjoyed a mix of relaxing rainy days with thunderstorms and sunny pool days. The wine tasting just a mile away and the restaurants within walking distance were delightful. A highlight was definitely the unforgettable 10-course meal Francesca cooked for us at the villa—it was simply out of this world! The villa's central location allowed us to explore and visit Florence, Lucca, Montecarlo, Viareggio, and Cinque Terre with ease. Thank you for providing such a perfect home away from home. We look forward to coming back again in the near future!

There are no words to accurately describe our time spent at Villa Carnicelli. This is truly a magical place, filled with love and care from Francesca and her incredible family.The photos on the listing only show you half of the beauty, to see it with your own eyes is truly breathtaking. Every detail has been thought of and there are special and beautiful touches throughout the property. You will feel at home right away whilst also feeling like a celebrity living out of a fancy magazine shoot.. it has all of the glamour whilst also retaining the Tuscan charm and heart.Francesca as a host is remarkable, our trip would have been completely different without her help. She is an expert on the local area, and offers once in a lifetime experiences like a Farm to Table dinner cooked in your house using local produce, custom tailored to your requirements. It was the best meal we have had in our lives and is a memory that our family will have forever.We came as a group to celebrate my mum's upcoming wedding, and Villa Carnicelli and the surrounding areas had everything that we needed. We comfortably slept 9 people, and there was enough room and beautiful spaces for us all to be very comfortable.The yoga room is a highlight, equipped with everything you need to enjoy a group yoga class, complete with mats, blocks and speaker (if you don't want to just listen to the beautiful sounds drifting through the window from the meditative wind chimes).Thank you so very much Francesca!

Beautiful Villa with Breathtaking views.

Thank you, Margit, Alberto and Francesca. Your home was a magical experience and your attention to detail in your home, property and towards us left us so grateful for our stay with you. My husband and I and our daughter and son in law stayed for a week and each one of us enjoyed our time. The Villa is gorgeous, and we were so comfortable there. We especially enjoyed having Francesca and Stefano cook for us one evening, a highlight of our trip. Early mornings gathering in the yard, which has several different places to gather, sipping coffee and watching the sun rise over the Tuscan Hills. Sunsets were a perfect end to our daily adventures. The Church Bells ringing, the wind chimes in the yard made us feel so welcomed and at home. Before we even arrived Francesca gave us so many wonderful suggestions that enhanced our entire time in Tuscany. We loved meeting Alberto who took great care in giving us all the information we needed about the house. And we would suggest to others don't miss the thoughtful photo books of the restoration of the property and Villa, it made us appreciate our stay even more. We hope to stay with you again. We highly reccomend this property.

Exceptional Villa in the perfect Tuscany location

Our family of eight spent two unforgettable weeks at this stunning home near Lucca. This beautiful property checked all our boxes and more; the perfect Tuscan location within driving/train distance to Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre, Portofino, Lucca and many more destinations. Privacy and beauty - stunning views and sunsets with spacious gardens. The house easily accommodated a large crowd with spacious bedrooms, large common areas and several outdoor lounge and eating areas for al fresco evenings. Everything in the villa was of highest quality (5 Star) and fully equipped. Owners Margit, Alberto and Francesca were wonderful hosts who made our stay unforgettable and assisted us in every way - including pointing us to local gems. Francesca and Stefano cooked us two unforgettable dinners of guide Michelin standards! The best meals we had anywhere in Italy and this together with the ambiance of the villa made these dinners unforgettable for our family. We loved Lucca and frequented other gems within a short driving distance such as Barga and Montecarlo. Getting to downtown Florence via train was an hour which made for the perfect day trips and Pisa is only 40 minutes away. There is so much to see and do around this property making it the perfect vacation destination. Coming home to this serene piece of heaven after a busy day, having a drink and watching the sun go down was heaven. Thank you Francesca, Margit and Alberto for sharing your home with us. We will be back again!

Heaven on Earth!!! A true escape and authentic Tuscan living

I cannot begin to express how extraordinary my experience was. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the most amazing host. Francesca truly went above and beyond in every possible way to ensure my comfort and enjoyment throughout my stay. The villa itself is exudes an atmosphere of elegance and tranquility. The family has taken such care and poured their hearts into restoring the villa into a warm home with modern comforts. Every room was spotless, thoughtfully curated decor, and beautiful landscaping. Wifi exists but isn’t meant to host zoom calls or extensive online work — this is your chance to detox and escape the digital world! What truly sets this villa apart is the exceptional hospitality provided by the host. Francesca anticipated my every need, offering helpful recommendations for local activities, restaurants, and hidden gems that only a true insider would know. Her warmth, genuine care, and attention to detail exceeded my highest expectations. Whether it was arranging a wine tasting at a nearby vineyard or ensuring I had everything I needed to feel at home. If you are looking for a truly extraordinary escape, I wholeheartedly recommend this VRBO property. An incredible house in a beautiful setting in Tuscany

I was looking for an exceptional property for a long overdue three-generational family reunion to celebrate some big birthdays with family members flying in from all around the world. This villa ticked the boxes in terms of size, quality and location and it exceeded our expectations by far. The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and living areas are simply beautiful and display an intriguing mix of restored architectural features and modern furnishings with design classics. It was above all, very spacious, comfortable and clutter free. We all loved how items in such as crockery and the laundry room were organised and we have come away with ideas of how to recreate some of these in our own homes! The pool was so nice to come home to after being in the hot sun on touring days. There is so much space with various outside seating areas that we never felt on top of each other. The grounds are beautiful and kept immaculately clean and landscaped. The huge trees on the terrace offered much welcome shade in the terrace, the wind chimes helped us relax and the comfortable loungers were strategically placed! Even on hot days there was a gentle breeze and plenty of shade. Fransesca (the daughter of the owners) cooked us two traditional Italian meals and they were BY FAR the best ones of our whole trip. She is a very talented chef and did an amazing job. Everything was locally produced and of the highest quality and above what we could do. She set the table outside and our celebratory meals just perfect. Pictures don't do this property justice. The attention to detail in every single room is impossible to capture. What is sure is that even the most discerning traveller would be happy to spend time here. We have all said that we would love to come back and intend to do so in future.

Extremely beautiful and spacious villa amidst lovely tuscan landscape

We spend two weeks in July 2022 in Magit, Alberto and Francesca´s beautiful home in Gragnano. The house is amazing, everything is so beautiful and carefully and tastefully refurbished with attention paid to every little detail. Margit and Francesca welcomed us in person and were were instantly available for any kind of questions. They speak fluent English, German and Italian. On arrival, the provided us with a lovely home baked cake, a bottle of bubbly and a large box full of fresh fruit and vegetables. We stayed there with two families and 5 children (aged 5-12y) and the property is large enough with lots of different sitting areas so that everyone could do their own thing without disturbing each other. In the living room, Magrit and Alfredo keep their giant record collection which guests are allowed to use and is was a really special experience to listen to some of the albums rather than spotify. The yoga room inspired me to actually do some excercises. The garden is very nice and spacious, two large trees provide a lot of shade and the chimes in the tree add to a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. There is a good outdoor barbecue area. We choose the property because of the interior/exterior of the house and were a little concerned that the pool would be a little to small but the five children spend ours in there and had enough room for all their games. Just a small walk up the hill and you find yourself in the middle of beautiful tuscan landscape. There are a few small shops nearby, a walk or a drive to the main road, the next large supermarket is about 20 mins by car. The kitchen is very well equipped and we love cooking so we mostly cooked for ourselves and did not try the local restaurants, apart from Pizzeria Puppo which was nice and the children loved it. The villa itself is in a very quiet and secluded location but the lovely city of Lucca as well as the beaches of the Versalia coast are only a short drive away. We had a perfect stay there and loved every minute of it. The only very small issue was the reliability of the internet which was ok for holiday needs but not really sufficient for working purposes.
