Wonderful holiday in southern Tuscany!

My family and I had been dreaming of our trip to Tuscany for a long time, and our dreams really came true while staying at this property! The villa has a beautiful garden surrounding the home and it is extremely peaceful.. the interiors are wonderfully decorated and feature unique art pieces hanging on the walls, that come directly from the owner’s private collection. We spent most of our time outdoors and in the water, either in the pool at the villa or at the beach nearby, which was very easy to access. There are many activities to do and places to see in the area, so I highly recommend asking the owner for her recommendations, she was more than willing to give us information to help us get the most out of our experience! The villa and the village of Capalbio are truly magical (with great dining options).. my family cannot wait for our next Italian vacation!

Just perfect!

This villa far exceeded our expectations, it was cozy, quiet and immersed in the most beautiful landscape! The location is just perfect, close to the beach (which we reached on a bicycle each day), to Capalbio (a stunning medieval town) and to a few really great restaurants! We have thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the private pool and also dining outside on the terrace.. The host was super nice and helped us with many tips prior to arrival and during our stay. We will be back for sure, next time for a longer period!

The villa was everything we expected and more. Lovely property situated in a true Tuscan setting. The villa was Tuscan style, which is the experience we all had hoped for. Be sure to have the chief come in to cook dinner on site, it was wonderful, and she was great!

The property was a stylish house with masses of character and comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms.

The weather was very hot and the house being dark inside meant it stayed reasonably cool. The bedrooms were great with aircon and mosquito nets. However the insects were bad this year but I don't think the owners of the house could be held responsible for that! The house had a beautiful swimming pool which had been very artistically designed and surrounded with attractive plants. It was a lovely place to be as there were great sun beds with a shady cover for the hottest hours in the day. We v much enjoyed the cinema system and thought the villa could do with a few more English language films. it was fun watching them in the evenings. The kitchen had plenty of pots and pans although some of the cutlery was a bit dated and the coffee machine (Nexpresso) probably needs to be replaced. That said, it was a very stylish place to stay. Everyone was helpful and we enjoyed our time very much.

Pictures don’t do the house justice

Family holiday, house is lovely inside, beautifully refurbished and very comfortable. The gardens are incredible and huge, with a beautiful pool. Good sized kitchen with everything you need. Bedrooms are air conditioned, with good sized beds and en suites. Nice area to stay in, long beeches, excellent restaurants nearby. Very relaxing house.

Beautiful villa with a stunning garden and a pool

We were a group of four adults and four (quite young) children and spent a week in this lovely villa. Everything worked perfectly and the villa was convenient with the kids. The pool has a shallow end so that too was very convenient with children. The owner organised a cook for us for couple of evenings and the food was amazing. There are also restaurants within a short drive away and at least one within a walking distance. Location was very good for exploring the surrounding areas and going to the beach.

Wonderful house in a magic garden

we had a great holiday in this very special house! the location is great, you can go to the beach in 10 min., go to visit Tarquinia, Vulci, Tuscania in half a hour, or go to Rome for the day in just a little more than an hour. The house is very well decorated, with great taste and very nice contemporary art works, mixed with antique furniture. the owners have been very nice, they invited us for a drink and for a tour of the garden, that is really a wonderful and special garden, and quite unique! we suggest this place, and hope to come back soon!

Beautiful villa and beach area!

Incredible place for a relaxing and fun vacation! The villa is near a gorgeous beach that we went to almost every day. Some days we just relaxed on the sand enjoying views of the ocean, or we rented bicycles and toured around Calpabio which was so much fun, my kids had a blast! The owner was so sweet and accommodating, she gave us helpful information about the area and really made us feel at home..thank you! The house was so beautiful as it is tucked away within lush greenery and surrounded by trees. Inside the villa were magnificent archways throughout each room and rustic wooden beams lining the ceiling that gave a real Italian feel. I can’t thank the owner enough for making our vacation so amazing and something that we will treasure forever!

A wonderful getaway!

What a beautiful and unique villa! I’m so happy that we chose this place where we got to enjoy not only the gorgeous property but the beautiful beach of Capalbio and the Argentario peninsula as well. The villa was very charming with a well kept garden and a lovely terrace where we enjoyed dinner or a glass of wine on almost every night :) Since my family and I love the ocean we spent most days relaxing on the beach, going for a swim, and strolling around the coast on bicycles..it was just what we envisioned plus more! We really appreciated the Italian style home (lots of interesting contemporary art hanging on the walls) that made us really feel like we were on vacation, the place was immaculate and beautifully furnished (the kitchen was wonderful to cook in). We would love to come visit again next year, and highly recommend it!

A charming and authentic property offering its residents a genuine taste of Tuscan life.

During the booking process and in the lead-up to our holiday Sylvia had been extremely helpful and responded to our queries immediately. Our flight had been delayed but we received a warm welcome from a member of staff on our arrival. We loved the scale and solidity of the villa and the four teenagers accompanying us were equally impressed. Impressing a modern teenager is not always easy. The villa is furnished with many pieces of antique furniture and works of art which give it the feel of a real home rather than simply a holiday rental. A lovely pool is located at the bottom of the garden and is surrounded by plants and shrubs offering an area of natural shade and good seclusion. The only slight reservation we had about the entire property concerned the kitchen which, although charming, lacked a certain amount of food preparation area considering the capacity of the villa - we were a group of six and struggled a little when attempting to produce evening meals. The villa offers plenty of space in all other areas - lots of comfortable places to relax. The home cinema was a super occasional treat! During our stay we visited Rome by train a couple of times (direct from Capalbio), visited the Tarot Sculpture Garden (amazing and just down the road!), explored Argentario by boat (fantastic day out) but were a little disappointed with the nearby beaches. It was only in the second week that Sylvia suggested La Feniglia which was a considerably more pleasant experience (7km of beach backed by a wooded conservation area. We walked along, but would advise renting a bike at the start if you want to get further away from the crowds as we did). Another enjoyable visit was to the natural springs of Saturnia - despite the sulphuric smell a beautiful experience. All in all a great holiday with lots of good memories.

A lovely break!

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at this gorgeous house. For two couples with teenagers, it was the perfect balance between relaxing and exploring, especially thanks to the great location. We were spoiled for choice between the beautiful pool at the villa and the clear blue sea and sandy beaches only a few minutes’ drive away. We made the most of both and quickly fell into a holiday routine - as you do when you feel at home! Lazy mornings at the villa hanging out by the pool and the lovely garden, lunch on the terrace followed by an afternoon siesta (the comfy beds and air-conditioned rooms were irresistible..). Nearly every day we headed to one of the beaches for a late afternoon swim then on to Capalbio to one of the great restaurants for dinner. We would have loved to stay a bit longer to have the chance to explore more of the coast and to visit Tarquinia - the only problem was that we really loved being at the villa and on the beach and it was hard to tear ourselves away!! It really was an unforgettable week - we hope to be back again next year :)

Super charming stay in beautiful Capalbio

A beautiful home with modern comforts in the heart of a spectacular region. We have been coming to the area for a few summers but this home was the perfect find -- about 10 minutes from anything you need from a grocery store, to gelateria, to beach clubs, to the heart of Capalbio. A little further and you can be in Porto Ercole/Argentario in 30 minutes. Lots to see an explore in the region and the house is the perfect place to return to... A few points to clarify -- there is no AC in the common spaces but the bedrooms are chilly and perfect and the downstairs is stone so it is naturally quite cool. Just something to note. Also just to manage expectations, the home, in a rather traditional Italian style, is one piece of a larger estate, so you do indeed have neighbors and are not sitting alone and completely isolated which is totally fine but just something to keep in mind in case you are looking for honeymoon style privacy. Other than that, everything is rather perfect. The house is beautifully furnished, the gardens are lovely, as is the pool, and you have the convenience of a a fabulous hotel being just around the corner (Locanda Rossa) where you can go for spa treatments or lunch, etc. We also worked directly with the housekeeper to have daily cleaning service which was affordable (20Euro for an hour each day) and made our holidays just a bit more enjoyable as no need to worry about making beds or doing dishes. Couldn't recommend the home any more enthusiastically

This house is part of a bigger house with neighbours on both sides. Therefore it lacks privacy.

It was a bad surprise that people were in the 'private pool' upon arrival. From the owners garden they have a straight view upon the pool and as well the owners dogs as the neighbours dogs were free walking around on the property. On friday the neighbours organised a pool party for theirs daughter's birthday. The party continued in their garden with loud music. This was really unacceptable. We had a total lack of privacy. The house is good, but not fabulous. There are a lot of inconveniences, such as the floor of the pool, lots of noice when it was windy, etc... We expected more of it. This house is rather a house to rent to live, instead of a holiday villa.

Not impressed what so ever. Owner a nightmare!!!!!

THIS IS NOT A VILLA! This is a coachhouse attached to the main house. This is not a private villa as we expected. Expensive, in a dead area with some ok beaches. Interior design is ok, photos look much better. We were two families and we couldn't be trusted! Find a better villa to stay at than this as it was pretty dark and full of people wondering around. NO PRIVACY whatsoever.

FABULOUS VILLA IN A GREAT LOCATION, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We have really enjoyed our stay in this lovely villa! Everything has been just so perfect: the beautiful garden, the pool and the terrace (where we spent most of our time back from the beach), were all absolutely magical! The villa itself is modern and functional, all bedrooms are very comfortable and come with a private bathroom each…we had so much fun using the beautiful kitchen to cook our meals (nearby grocery store made our vacation even easier). The village of Capalbio is a must-see, just a few minutes away, and the nearby sandy beach is just fantastic (spent many hours there everyday, at the local beach club)! We wanted to explore this part of Tuscany since a long time and discovered that the Maremma region is a real gem.. We felt super comfortable in this magnificent place since day 1 and would love to be back next summer!

A lovely place!

A lovely house on a beautiful estate! We enjoyed the well designed garden with the peaceful swimming pool in it and the terrace at the house were we had al our meals al fresco! The house is tastefully decorated but also very comfortable, we felt immediately at home. We were there with a party of seven, our two grown up children and partners and a toddler of almost two years old, and there was more than enough space for everybody in and outside the house. Sylvia, the owner, made us feel very welcome, and gave us good information about the area. The beach takes only 5-10 minutes by car, is not to busy and very relaxing with sun beds and lovely food. A small local supermarket, only 7 minutes away by car, had everything we needed. We made excursions to Capalbio, Porto Ercole, Pitigliano and Lago di Bolsena. One week was definitely to short in this lovely house and we hope to come back! July 2016 Charlotte d.

Stunningly Beautiful Gardens!

We've just returned from what couldn't have been a more wonderful stay at this picturesque villa in Tuscany. Not only are the gardens beautiful, but the ancient structures which have been re-vamped for modern-day living are carefully and creatively designed by the owner, Sylvia, who is a gallery owner in Rome. Suffice to say, the art is to-die-for and the sculptures in the garden are designed by her very-own brother-in-law. The building itself has everything you could possibly need. We have two small children, so we need a lot! We have stayed all over the world in high-end hotels, but this takes the cake. You feel as though you are in Italy, and that is what you want while on vacation. I can't recommend this villa enough. You will be well taken care of by the on-site staff and Sylvia will hopefully be able to take you on a grand tour of the grounds. It was a treat!

Tuscan Paradise!

What a gorgeous property! Everything was so absolutely beautiful and perfect, from the villa’s interiors to its breathtaking garden and pool! It has been a truly amazing vacation and we are so grateful to the owners for giving us the opportunity to stay at this fabulous property! We have enjoyed every minute of our stay visiting as much as we could of the area..for sure the most amazing places in Tuscany. Magnificent Villa in Tuscany, unforgettable experience!

Thank you for providing this villa and making our reunion trip of 4 couples so special! The villa has been absolutely perfect as a home base during a week of exploring Tuscany. We extensively enjoyed the area and particularly the stunning nature and sandy beaches :) we also spent hours in the crystal clear waters of either the sea or the villa’s pool, which was just magical... The town of capalbio is really lovely and the local food so delicious, the best we have ever had in our lives! We also took time to reach the nearby monte Argentario and took a day trip to the island of Giglio, which was one of the highlights of our week.. The owners have been extremely welcoming and have provided us with great tips on local restaurants, wineries to visit and things to see/do in the area. They even took time to show us the property’s magnificent garden that comes with all kinds of beautiful rare plants and flowers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are highly recommending the villa to friends and family as the perfect place for spending their Tuscan holiday.
