Great staff, great service, but needs better pest control. It was a bit djfficult to eat, even though the food ws excellent. There is a bug problsm that makes difficult to enjoy the food.

The hotel is under construction. It’s a bit hard to get in and out. Their activities being slow down, it’s affecting them. It’s usually the best place to stay but this time around was not that great. They need to get back on top. I still recommend the place. It’s quiet and away from the busy city but I’ve had better experiences there in past.

The ground view is beautiful! The hotel is up on the hill overseeing the ocean. Be prepared to use a taxi since the hotel is away from the strip where the restaurants and nightlife are located.

The AC was fantastic! The staff was very friendly. I only stayed a night so i didnt try any other amenities or their food.

Bon sejour et service impeccable.

Ce fut mon premier sejour a l Habitation Jouissant et si il y a une chose qui m a marquée c est la courtoisie des employés. D habordmil vaut dire que l hotel est actuellement dans une phase d expansion donc l entrée n est accessible qu a pied et il faut marcher plusieurs metres sur une petite pente. La premiere chambre qui m a ete proposee avait le climatiseur bien trop près du lit donc on m a demande de patienter pour m en préparee une deuxieme. On m a offert une boisson gratuite en attendant, ceci en plus du cocktail de bienvenue offert a l enregistrement. Cette deuxieme chambre, quoiquenj y ai passée la premiere nuit ne m a pas plu car les murs étaient sales et le mobilier disparate. Il semble qu elle avait ete occupée pendant plusieurs mois par un client et n avait pas fait l objet de travaux d entretien depuis son depart. Apres avoir fait part de mes soucis au personnel il se sont arrangés pour me trouber une 3eme chambre. Cette derniere etait propre et bien decorée avec une belle vue sur la baie du Cap-Haitien et beaucoup de verdure aux alentours. J ai dinné a l hotel un soir et la cuisine etait excellente. Je retournerai certainement a cet hotel maia preferablement apres que la nouvelle construction soit terminée.

That Hotel shouldn't be advertised to receive guests. It is even misleading to have that facility advertised as a place to stay since it is currently in construction.

Very Nice Hotel with a fantastic View

Be on it in the evening observing the sunset on the nearby sea, or in the morning its a very fantastic and inspiring painting made real. Or you can decide to retire deep inside your room (ask for jasmine) or at the end a pleasant stay at this outdoor restaurant made indoor or by 9:00 PM from the restaurant deck listen to the rhythm of the city below , you'll have plenty to do. Cons ; They are actually in construction the project is to add 100 more rooms expect some long walk to get in and eventually some little dirt to but it definitely worthwhile

A beautiful hotel

Take a balcony room!! I booked based on a friend's recommendation - a king with sofa bed. We weren't quite inside the hotel, and as we were actually spending a bit of time at the hotel I wish we had spent a bit more or booked on their hotel website. Overall a lovely stay! Staff were friendly, drinks cold, view amazing! Had higher expectations for the dinner meals, but the environment made up for the food which was fine but Lakay was better! Enjoy Cap Haitien

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Haiti. Definitely recommend. It had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in while in Haiti. Great views! The staff was extremely helpful.

Stayed there was wonderfull .But i can see the hotel do not have good maintenance staff . In my room the glass door in my bathroom was robbing in the tiles,its an easy fix but maintenance maybe dont undrstand how to fix those stuff . Caulking was old with water stain everywhere . The hotel is a beauty but maintenance cant keep up with small repair .Maintenance need to keep up with repair in the hotel if not that beautifull hotel will drop from a 4 stars to 2 stars hotel .

Wonderful Hotel with great view

The weather was perfect while we were there, though I heard that the week prior to our arrival, it rained. The hotel has a wonderful view of the beach. Sunrise from our room window, and also the deck is just breathtaking. Dinner after sunset was unreal. Also enjoyed the pool. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. One of the staff (Gabriel) went out of his way to make stay even more enjoyable. On one of his days off, he took us around town. We met some of the locals and did some sightseeing. We had a great stay and a wonderful time.

Overall stay is pleasant. Menu is limited, although one can deviate from the menu and request authentic local food. Be aware that the Junior deluxe room is located in the basement.... and the view is just as limited

Beautiful view and nice clean hotel in Cap Haitien

The views looked out over both Cap Haitien and the beautiful sea as well. The hotel staff was friendly. Breakfast was also good. Price was little high, but it is hard to find good, clean hotels in Haiti, especially with a nice view and friendly service.

Hyggelig og serviceinnstilt personale. Hotellet er noe slitt, men renhold er godt og det er det viktigste. Hotellet ligger på motsatt side av byen i forhold til flyplassen. Hotellet henter og bringer gjester derfra. Selv om de hadde glemt at vi skulle hentes på flyplassen ordnet dette seg på et kvarters tid etter en telefon til hotellet.

clean and safe

it was nearly impossible to sleep on the pull out "mattress." the mini fridge leaked and soaked my bag entirely. getting food took forever. that said, the staff was friendly, the view beautiful, and the service better than one receives in most Cap-Haitian establishments.

Beautiful hotel to stay when visiting Cap-Haitien

This was our first visit to the north of Haiti. We chose Habitation Jouissant based on reviews I'd read. Overall we were not disappointed. The hotel driver picked us up at the airport, getting our trip off to a very good start. The hotel is located high above the city center and offers spectacular views of the sea and city center. Our room was extremely comfortable and clean. We even had wi-fi, hot water and air conditioning ... luxuries we aren't accustomed to in Haiti. While the property is clean, the hotel needs to touch up the physical details ... updating that would be standard practice in an upscale US hotel. (Things like rusting chairs, loose handles, peeling laminate on cabinets, fading paint.) And I don't want to say, "Well, this is what to expect in Haiti, because I respect the country and what it's capable of! The staff at the hotel is wonderful and made us feel welcome and well taken care of. We were sad to say goodbye to them! Habitation Jouissant hosts a varied mix of clients (Americans, Europeans, NGOs, etc.) which made our visit even more interesting. As long as they maintain the property we would definitely choose HJ on our next visit to oKap.
