Queanbeyan Stay
I stayed in a twin room with two king single beds, very roomy comfortable, seperate kitchen which has everything but cutlery, one issue I had was the door leading onto front patio would not lock. I wedged a chair between wardrobe and door overnight, Great TV and wifi , parking is a bit tight.

Rainbows at rainbow motel
The unit was brand new, huge and gorgeous. The bathroom was huge too. The bed was very hard which is great if that’s what you like, but we’ve been spoilt with softer beds. The service was a little too friendly; I prefer quiet enjoyment.

It’s brand new, well set out. Nice kitchen, good water pressure in the shower. Parking is a little awkward but everyone fits in.

It's very small. The bathroom door wouldn't even close!! Bed wasn't comfortable and was noisy with ever movement. But the electric blanket kept us warm.

This is a non-smoking Motel. However, the guest next to my room kept smoking throughout the night. The smoke came into my room through the adjoining door.

On a main highway
Although noisy from the traffic, it was convenient for travelling to places along the Kings Highway. I would prefer a cleaner hotel, but I was out most of the day. It was a short car ride to Queanbeyan and the shops and there was a petrol station and Post Office nearby.

Cheaper, Basic, Dated but Comfy Motel
Motel Room has everything you need for a short stay and things works satisfactorily. One bedside light not functioning - no problem. Comfy bed. Motel is on King's Highway but no noise problems. Only worrying issue was dirty plastic cup in bathroom in toothbrush fitting. Dead insect and dirt from a few weeks ago possibly.

Overnight stay for ski trip
Nice cheap and clean accommodation. Worked well to break up the trip from central coast to the ski fields.

3 star lodging that basically fulfils this rating. Room was clean, neat and tidy. AC was adequate (coped with extreme heat at night). TV was marginal with aerial interference.

Its good enough
I was visiting a friend, and needed 2 nights for somewhere to stay. It turned out this weekend was SummerNats and everywhere was fully booked. So I felt happy I found somewhere just a few mins from their house. The room is small, but its clean. You get what you pay for. Everything works. There is a microwave and a toaster, which is a major bonus for a room at this price. However, apart from a small bar of soap, there are no toiletries. And no tissues. I am not a heavy sleeper, and when the neighbour sneezed at 3am, I was awake. So the walls are not too thick. The host was very nice and polite and friendly, and I saw it was a nice touch when she saw I had cereal, and apparently no bowl, and a spoon and bowl appeared. She also speaks Chinese Mandarin if you need to know that. From my perspective, this accommodation was good enough. The whole place desperately needs a refresh, but if you were like me, and just need somewhere to sleep, shower, and do a bit of work on a laptop and eat a basic meal, its fine.

A small dated motel that served the purpose.
The Rainbow is an old motel that is not flash. My room was out the back and quiet. It was clean and tidy. Free wifi.

Dated but very clean and comfortable.
A little expensive given meals are not part of the services available at the hotel. The building(s) are dated but very clean and quite comfortable. Close to town centre, easy access, on-site parking.

Budget priced, great value
Nice clean small motel, the owner was a very nice lady and abliging. Our only recomendation is that the parking bays are numbered to coincide with the room numbers to avoid misunderstanding with other guests.

Ok avstand til Canberra men slitent, klamt rom som luktet veldig når naborommet gikk ut for å røyke. Veldig hyggelig eier, men hadde personlig betale et par hundre kroner ekstra for noe med litt høyere standard.

Not a place for the five-star traveller.
It's a very old motel and the price reflects its age. The room, bed and bathroom were clean, but the whole place needs maintenance. The owner is very nice.

A surprise - for the good.
I stayed at the Rainbow for 3 nights and I enjoyed my time at the hotel. It was nice and quiet, the bed was really good and the room had a microwave, which most places don't have. I will stay there again as it was good value for money.

Stayed for a few nights whilst visiting family in Queanbeyan. Pleasant and helpful staff and generally quiet room accommodation.

Convenient motel at suitable price
Needed accomodation at the last minute at a reasonable price and convenient to Canberra. It fitted the bill vey well and as it was a late check-In the room key was in the location arranged and so it worked well.

Nice Simple Motel in Good Location
I am a regular here. It is a great little motel in a good location. Parking is off road and pretty safe. Room and bed are comfortable. My only complaints however. Shower corners not properly cleaned with bleach etc. (No excuse for this). The TV is a bit smal. The microwave (which is great to have) you virtually can't plug in because the lead is too short!! I'll bring an extension cord next time!! Otherwise good value for money.

Short stays
Bedroom area is adequate for a short stay. Bed is good. Traffic sound is bearable as the trucks do not run all night. The shower and toilet areas are very cramped and we found that having a shower caused the water to creep into the toilet area. The hand basin leaked from the drain outlet. Bearable for the price.

Budget hotel but really quite run down
The hotel reception was reeking of smoke - I couldn't even breath while I was there Room is very dated/run down - you do not want to book this for more than a quick one night stay - It will be impossible to stay here and enjoy during the day The bed sheets badly needs a refresh - It may have been clean but looked so so old - It looked like it was at least 10 yrs old! TV was functional I stayed in the winter and the small heater was not enough but fortunately the air-con unit (noisy) from the 1970s were functional (little tricky to operate) Electric blanket was a nice touch Water was warm Bathroom is clean but quite dated and so so small - when you opened the door, it almost hits the toilet! Towels were new and clean Overall you get what you pay for - I'd say that this is slightly better value compared to Ibis Budget but Ibis has newer (Ibis is also quite old though) facilities - Ibis has a worse toilet believe it or not.
