"It was a very mixed stay, although overall it was positive. The first room we were given was very dirty. The walls in particular were yellow and marked, including hand prints on the walls and mould on the curtains (pictured attached). "Beautiful setting with a upmarket vibe around the complex. Entrance lobby and reception very smart. Staff were helpful. We decided on the cheaper windowless room knowing there was a skylight with natural light. But skylight blind was broken . Room was not cleaned or replenished over the two day stay. Leisure facilities were very good but at £10 per visit per person remember to bare this in mind in price comparisons. Food was reasonable but quite pricey for what it was. All said I would return...

"Bathrooms weren't terrible clean. Rooms were hot with tiny windows. Couldn't get i to my room and called, said they'd send so.eone out and call me when there. 40 minutes later called again and was helped over the phone.. no one arrived or called. Wandered around for ages trying to find the entrance, e entually found a fire es ape that was open and just walked in. The main door is actually numbered no 3.. thought this was a room.. no signs saying Brookval guest house."

Bed was horrific, worst mattress I've ever slept on, very old, bed falling apart, not even a full size double. Husband and I are very average in size I had to try and sleep either end of the bed - didn't help due to the noise of other residents all night. "Terrible. Not at all as advertised. Front door was unlocked and open on arrival. Room door was open on arrival and unlockable. Room window was damaged and stuck wide-open, completely unclosable. I called the contact number and had no answer and received no call back. I arrived towards midnight at the property and still chose not to stay here."

"This place was dreadful. The photos do not reflect the room. My husband sat on the bed and it collapsed onto the floor. He weighs 140 pounds so not a big bloke. On top of that there were no towels provided even though they are in the pictures. It was a hot day and we couldn't take a shower before going out. Do not stay here."

"It was terrifying! I booked one of my accomplished musicians to stay after our long late evening rehearsal. When we enter the room (no staff available of course ro even speak to), we found the room had bed laid already by strangers! Later, 3 drunk guys returned to my reservation room 9, sleeping on the bed and one drunk man was on the floor!"
