Only the Location was stunning

The Villa could have been a 5 star experience. The location is incredible with unbelievable views and the peace and quiet of a country inn. However, as nice as the views and location were, the condition of the furnishings and accoutrements left a lot to be desired. The bed in the main bedroom needs to be replaced immediately. The kitchen was appointed with the bare minimum in terms of utensils and the outdoor furniture around the pool and on the balcony and decks needed replacement. Although the listing indicated that the home had a clothes dryer, it was inoperable and although the housekeeper was notified, no effort was made to fix it. The towels and linens were rough and worn. Rui, the property manager did not return VRBO email messages concerning questions about the Villa, so there were some surprises when we arrived. If not for the incredible location, this would be classified as a mediocre experience at best. It appears that the investors are more concerned with milking all the money out of the property instead of maintaining it to be the stunning place it could be.

Schönes, ruhiges Haus

Wir waren im Januar 2024 im Haus. Die gesamte Anlage ist gepflegt und sehr schön. Kommunikation mit Rui und Maria war ausgezeichnet! Im Haus findet man alles, was man braucht. Uns fehlte an nichts! We were a little disappointed by the decor and accessories. Everything was old and tired . Broken pool furniture . Old furniture, uncomfortable beds . Basic kitchen utensils . For such a lovely property these things let it down .

PERFEKTE VILLA mit Traumaussicht

Wer es noch nicht weiß: MIRADOURO bedeutet im Portugisischen soviel wie "Aussichtspunkt". Und genau das ist diese Villa: ein perfekter Aussichtsort direkt an der Steilküste. Die Betreuung durch Rui und Maria ist hervorragend (besser geht es nicht!). Der Pool ist sehr groß und perfekt sauber - ebenso die komplette Villa: extrem grosszügig und extrem sauber! Das BBQ-Haus (ja: es ist ein eigenes HAUS nur für das BBQ!!) ist einzigartig! Ich war schon in vielen grossen Villen aber sowas hab ich noch nie gesehen! Auch der Garten ist riesig und die eigenen Feigen- und Mangobäume tragen traumhafte Früchte, die man gerne verkosten darf (kann ich nur empfehlen ;-) Alles in allem ein unglaublicher Luxusurlaub für Leute, die gerne abgescheiden, ruhig und selbstversorgt Urlaub machen. Es gibt aber auch in kurzer Entferung (ca. 10 Min. mit dem Auto) einige gute Lokale falls man nicht selbst grillen oder kochen möchte. Es war die schönste und bestausgestattete Villa, die wir bisher bewohnen durften. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!!!

Madeira

Wir haben den Aufenthalt auf Madeira und in der Sonnenuntergangsvilla sehr genossen. Meine Familie war bereits von ca. 17 Jahren auf dieser Insel urlauben und haben die Sonnenuntergangsvilla bereits damals (nur von aussen) gesehen und uns gewunschen dort ein mal unseren Urlaub zu verbringen. Die Aussicht ist Traumhaft und wir haben sowohl Pool als auch die Ruhe genossen. Die Haustiere wie die Katze und die beiden Hunde sind sehr liebenswert und zutraulich. Die Insel selbst hat sich in dieser Zeit doch sehr verändert und es ist vieles für den Tourismus geändert worden, ich sehe nicht alles als Vorteil. Der Preisunterschied auf der Insel ist enorm. Zur Villa, sie ist von der Bauweise sehr schön - einige Dinge gehören repariert und instandgesetzt bzw. erneuert. Schweren Herzens sind wir wieder abgereist, wir wären gerne länger geblieben.

Lovely private villa with 180 degree Atlantic view

On arrival we were very pleased with the quality of the villa, the private and secluded location and the stunning uninterrupted views of the Atlantic. However, we had a few issues over the first few days, which included cockroaches in the kitchen drawers, our bedroom, and bathroom. We reported this, to both the housekeeper and the property manager, expecting a pest control company to arrive. Nothing happened. We also reported that the dishwasher had stopped working after three days, and despite promises to repair it nothing was ever done during the next three and a half weeks of our stay. We also reported that the oven door didn't close properly, and were told to raise the oven temperature. This resulted in the oven control knobs being too hot to touch. The general kitchen equipment was very poor. The lawned garden looked wonderful on arrival, but a month later when we left, the grass was up to 1ft high in places. The gates were fixed open so we could not stop two local stray dogs using the garden as a toilet. As compensation for these problems, we were offered a three night stay at another villa, which was very nice, but we assumed the issues at Villa Miradouro would be dealt with in our absence. This did not happen. Overall, it seems to us that there was a reluctance to spend money to properly deal with the issues, although Maria the housekeeper did her best and was extremely thorough and helpful.

Ohne einen Mietwagen nicht zu erreichen. Die gute Fee “Maria“ hilft wo sie kann. Der Pool ist arschkalt. Wenn ein beheizbarer Whirlpool vorhanden ist, kommen wir wieder.

Das ist Einsatz!

Neben dem superschönen Objekt, welches man selbst für die schönen Inselausflüge nur ungern verlassen mag, hat uns die Betreuung durch Rui Agriao sehr geholfen- selbst nachts um halb drei lotste er uns nach verspäteter Ankunft zu Madeiras vielleicht einziger 24 h-offenen Tankstelle und ermöglichte den Checkin im Haus. Das ist Einsatz, vielen Dank nochmal! Achso, für alle Nespresso-Enthusiasten- es gibt eine Nespresso Maschine, die in der Hausbeschreibung nicht erwähnt ist ;-)

Stunning views and stunning home!

This property is amazing in every aspect. The views were superb at every angle of the house. The accommodations were very comfortable and welcoming.. The rental home and surrounding property was meticulously maintained and Rui was amazing on his efficiency. We loved this so much that we rebooked this house to this April and can’t wait to return to paradise.

Unbezahlbarer Ausblick, ABER…

Der weite Blick auf den kompletten Atlantik ist natürlich 1a mit Sternchen. Viel besser geht es sicherlich nicht! Allerdings ist das Haus/Villa etwas in die Jahre gekommen und es wurden nötige Arbeiten nicht ausgeführt. Als Beispiel kann ich die Silikonfuge am Waschbecken im Badezimmer nennen. Die Hälfte fehlt komplett, die andere Hälfte ist einfach nur vergammelt. Wir hatten ein paar Tage sehr starken Regen, es tropfte an verschiedenen Stellen von der Decke. Die Mikrowelle ist sehr alt und auch was Geschirr und Küchenequitment angeht, könnte und sollte man einige Dinge austauschen. Für den Preis habe ich einfach etwas mehr erwartet und wurde somit etwas enttäuscht. Im großen und ganzen hatten wir trotzdem einen schönen Urlaub! Meines Erachtens nach sind die Bewertungen für das Objekt etwas zu positiv. Der Besitzer sollte wirklich ein paar Euro in Renovierung/Modernisierung stecken, damit der Aufenthalt dann auch wirklich perfekt ist. Maria, die Haushälterin, ist natürlich ein Schatz, keine Frage!

Great Location

Situated near to one of Madeiras famous Lookouts. Great location with marvelous views right out of your Bedroom, or from the Pool or the Kitchen. A really great Spot. Only some downturns have to be mentioned. The Kitchen Equipment is quit old and worn out. The House is situated down a steep slope. The owner doesn´t allow you to drive down. You have to carry your luggage up and down the slope. Same with your shoppings. You are not allowed to close the gate at the propertys entry which is allowing curious people from the nearby lookout to venture down to the House or to the pool ( happened twice to us ) In summary : a really great villa with only some downturns !!!!

Außergewöhnliche Villa

Wir waren schon zum zweiten Mal im Sommer für 10 Tage in dieser Villa. Sie liegt auf einem schön bepflanzten, größeren Hanggrundstück, am Ende einer Straße, die an einem Aussichtspunkt endet. Rechts und links von dem Grundstück stehen derzeit keine Häuser. Man hat somit einen freien Blick in alle Richtungen zum Meer. 50 Meter weiter ganz am Ende der Straße liegt der Aussichtspunkt Miradouro do Massapez mit einigen Tischen Bänken und einer Feuerstelle zum Grillen. Gelegentlich haben hier die Einheimischen gefeiert, aber die Geräusche hielten sich in Grenzen. Insbesondere abends ist es ganz ruhig. Man hört keine Autos, nur gelegentlich entferntes Hundebellen, einen Hahn krähen oder eine Kuh muhen, sowie die Kirchturmuhr der kleinen Kirche von Fajã da Ovelha. Ein echtes Ruhe-Paradies. Das Haus selbst ist sehr großzügig geschnitten, mehrere Wohnbereiche, eine große Küche, ein langer Balkon, zwei Schlafzimmer und zwei Bäder. Eine Etage unterhalb liegt eine große Terrasse mit Pool. Noch eine Etage weiter unten ist noch ein Gartenbereich mit Wiese und einem Barbecue-Häuschen mit einem gemauerten Grill, Waschbecken und Kühlschrank. Ein Mietauto ist unbedingt erforderlich. Vom Flughafen dauert die Fahrt eine Stunde. In 20 Minuten ist man in Calheta, einem Touristen-Ort. Hier kann man im Supermarkt einkaufen, eine Walbeobachtungstour buchen (Lobosonda ist sehr zu empfehlen) und am Hafen essen gehen. In 30 Minuten ist man zum Wandern auf der Hochebene.

Herrliche Lage

Die Villa liegt traumhaft schön oberhalb von Paul do Mar und bietet 180Grad Ausblick auf den Ozean. Sehr ruhige Lage; Schlüsselübergabe einfach; sauber; Auto empfehlenswert. Wir haben einen sehr schönen Urlaub da verbracht!
