  • The self catering apartment Casa do Cais is located in one of the last remaining fishing villages, Paul do Mar. It comprises: a luxury two bedroom apartment of 120sq m, one double bed (queen size bed) and two singles, cot available; one shower room with toilet and vanity unit; one fully fitted kitchen with equipment and utilities; a fully furnished lounge area with TV and a view overlooking the ocean; magnificent roof terrace BBQ, hammock, table and chairs. The Atlantic Ocean is literally two metres from the front door. The local harbour and beach is only one hundred yards walk along the sea wall. For the budget traveller is the perfect hideaway location for the surfing, body boarding, fishing, walking, and photography or sea side enthusiast. In this house, on the magnificent roof terrace, overlooking the ocean and the harbour you forget about the world . You do not see or hear anyone or anything except the sound of the sea.

    In the summer months windsurfing, surfing, swimming and snorkelling are perfectly safe in the ocean, right outside the front gate. In the winter months the sea is more suitable for surfing and body boarding. Snorkeling and diving is still available but a wet suit would be recommended.
    The sun always shines in Paul do Mar and so sunbathing is always an option!

    New golf course being built at aprox. 15 km (ready 2008).

Ein Steinwurf von der Brandung

Die Wohnung ist wirklich super. Uns hat es insb. gefallen, auf der Dachterrasse zu speisen oder generell uns dort aufzuhalten. Die Kommunikation mit dem Host war zuvorkommend, freundlich und angenehm.

COCKROACHES!!!

On paper this apartment seemed an ideal place to enjoy a relaxing holiday. Metres from the sea, rooftop terrace with wonderful views looking out to sea and the surrounding area. On entering the property in the early hours of a Saturday morning we were met with cockroaches scuttling around the floors, kitchen walls and in the cupboard. We immediately wanted to turn around and leave. We were very tired after the flight and needed sleep. The following morning we gave the accommadation a good clean. The place did look clean but if these things had been crawling all over the place it obviously wasn't. We purchased some insecticide and gave the place a good spraying. All the windows and doors were shut at night. The following morning, more cockroaches! We reluctantly perservered as the location of the apartment was so good. What really broke the camel's back was finding one of them crawling on me in bed in the early hours. We contacted the owner who apologised but thought the only solution was to send a maid with a tin of insecticide to spray the accommodation. This we had already done! The following morning several more cockroaches were found in the living area floor, cupboards etc. I thought the owner of the property would have enquired how things were, but nothing. We sent a further email advising that we were vacating the premisises and booking into a hotel and we were now pretty disgusted with the accommodation. Still no further reply from the owner. Pretty disgusting customer service if you ask me. We originally tried to book the accommodation through a booking agent but after several problems with dates the owner contacted us and we sorted everything directly. We have since wondered if this has been very convenient for the owner as there would conceivably be no comeback. Before you book this place I would strongly advise unless you have good stomach for these dirty little creatures scrambling all over the place i would look for alternative holiday accommodation.

Sehr nette Vermieter, traumhafte Lage in einer Sackgasse direkt am Meer, (Brandungsgeräuche in der Nacht haben uns nicht gestört).Ein sehr ruhiger, wenig touristischer Ort. Einfache Bademöglichkeit am Ortsstrand mit Dusche.Für sportliche Leute ein herrlicher Wanderweg hoch nach Prazeres.

Eine Traumlage

Wir waren schon einmal in Gorgios Haus und haben uns vollkommen wohlgefühlt. Es war auch dieses Mal genauso. Die Unterkunft ist topp in Ordnung, aber die Dachterrasse mit ihrem Meerblick übertrifft alles. Man kann Liebhabern des Meeres nur dazu raten.

Fantastischer Aufenthalt direkt am Meer

Wir haben das wirklich liebevoll eingerichtetes Ferienhaus mit drei Erwachsenen gemietet und eine wunderschöne Zeit in dem pittoresken Fischerort verbracht! Die Einrichtung lässt keine Wünsche offen und in den Betten sind sehr bequem und komfortabel. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!

Wir waren bereits zum 2. Mal hier und auch nicht zum letzten mal. Die Terasse ist nicht zu überbieten, näher am Meer geht nicht.

Schöner Urlaub

Das Appartement hat uns gefallen, besonders der schöne Ausblick aus dem Küchenfenster und von der Dachterrasse. Das waren unsere Lieblingsplätze 😊. Der Ort selbst ist sehr ursprünglich und hat wenig Tourismus, was wir sehr genossen haben. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und hat immer prompt reagiert. Wir haben uns dort wohl gefühlt und unseren Aufenthalt genossen.

Schöne Wohnung in bester Lage direkt am Meer

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Urlaub in dem kleinen Dörfchen Paul do Mar. Die Dachterrasse übertrifft alle Erwartungen, das Meeresrauschen begleitet einem bis in den Schlaf. Uns hat es dort an nichts gefehlt und wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Nochmals vielen Dank an Giorgio, alle unsere Fragen wurden im Vorfeld schnell und problemlos beantwortet.

Näher am Meer geht nicht!

Wir haben uns in den zwei Wochen super wohl gefühlt. Am Anfang kam einem das Meeresrauschen fast laut vor, aber mit zunehmender Zeit hat man es immer mehr zu schätzen gelernt. Die Abende auf der Dachterrasse mit dem wunderbaren Ausblick werde ich wirklich vermissen Auch das man so schnell im Meer - mit dem herrlichen klaren Wasser, baden konnte, war schön. Das Haus war bis auf den Backofen mit allem ausgestattet, was nötig war. Das Bad ist klein, aber völlig in Ordnung. Die Zimmer haben nur kleine Fenster mit geringer Luftzufuhr, aber dank des Ventilators ging das auch. Wir können das Haus ohne Einschränkungen weiterempfehlen.

Gemütliche Ferienwohnung in idealer Lage

Die Wohnung liegt in einem kleinen Fischerdorf direkt am Meer. Die Angaben bei fewo und die Fotos entsprechen voll der Realität. Die Wohnung ist mit Blick für Details sehr ansprechend und gemütlich ausgestattet. Alle notwendigen Dinge sind vorhanden, die Lage direkt am Meer ideal, wenn man intensives Meeresrauschen liebt.

Dejligt hus i hyggelige omgivelser

Dejligt hus med sol på tagterrassen hele dagen. Vi savnede en ovn i køkkenet, for vi er glade for at bage og lave mad. Rigtig gode senge! Flot beliggenhed med panoramaudsigt over Atlanterhavet i en hyggelig lille fiskerby. Ejeren Giorgio Martin er meget imødekommende og hjælpsom!

Amazing sunsets from superb patio

The huge sliding windows looking out onto the waves just below the house and the patio with hammock were really special. The apartment was homely and had a comfy feel of being lived in happily.

Das Haus liegt direkt am Meer, ein herrlicher Meerblick und das Rauschen der Wellen haben wir als sehr erholsam empfunden. Das Haus ist mit allem was man benötigt ausgestattet und das W-Lan funktioniert hervorragend. Die Betten sind sehr bequem wir konnten sehr erholsam schlafen. Ein kleiner Minimarket ist in 1 Minute Fußweg zu erreichen, sowie diverse Restaurants. Direkt am Meer zu wohnen mit so einer tollen Dachterrasse ist sehr erholsam. Paul do Mar ist wahrlich ein schönes Fischerdorf und weit weg vom Trubel und Tourismus. Der ein oder andere Mangel könnte den Aufenthalt noch schöner gestalten. Der Warmwasserboiler ist für 2 Personen ausreichend, sollte man aber mit 4 Personen anreisen ist eine Absprache zwecks Duschen notwendig. Die Warmwasseraufbereitung ist zu gering. Die Eingangstür ist etwas schwer zu öffnen (anheben und kräftig ziehen) eine Einstellung der Tür ist erforderlich. Auch ein Austausch der Wohnzimmersessel die bereits in die Jahre gekommen sind, und etwas sperrig sind wäre sinnvoll. Wir waren in den 2 Wochen trotz der kleinen Mängel sehr zufrieden, und der Aufenthalt in der Ferienwohnung Casa do Cais hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Ein großes Lob an den Hausbesitzer Herr Giorgio Martin, wann immer eine Frage aufgekommen ist wurde sie sofort per E-Mail beantwortet. Auch die Nachbarschaft alles nette und freundliche Menschen, wir kommen gerne wieder. Familie J.R

Herrlicher Aufenthalt

Das Haus liegt direkt am Meer und wir hatten das Gefühl auf einem Schiff zu wohnen, ein herrlicher Meerblick und das Rauschen der Wellen haben wir als sehr entspannend empfunden. Das Haus ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und W-Lan funktioniert hervorragend. Ein kleiner Minimarket ist in 1 Minute Fussweg zu erreichen, sowie diverse Restaurants. Die beiden Orte Jardim do Mar und Paul do Mar sind wirklich noch ursprünglich und ohne Hochhäuser! Direkt am Meer zu wohnen mit so einer tollen Dachterrasse ist sehr erholsam. Empfehlenswert!

Gorgeous view

The apartment is spacious and the roof terrace is large and dreamlike. Every evening we saw wonderful sunsets. The view is unique. We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment and I am sure that we will come back!

Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht, um entspannt Urlaub zu machen. Alles sehr sauber und liebevoll maritim eingerichtet. Aber das Highlight ist die Dachterasse. Hier haben wir jeden Abend phantastische Sonnenuntergänge beobachtet.

Ottima esperienza

La casa si trova esattamente di fronte all'oceano ed è dotata di (quasi) tutte le comodità. La terrazza sul mare è splendida e pittoresca. Ottimo punto d'appoggio sia per una vacanza stabile ed esclusivamente di mare (la spiaggia di ciottoli è vicinissima e comoda; è possibile anche fare il bagno) sia per chi voglia girare l'isola e compiere escursioni. Consigliato!

Wonderful holidays at Casa do Cais

Our two weeks in Giorgios accomondation "Casa do Cais" were great! The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The kitchen was fully fitted with everything you need for cooking. We had a beautiful view and the big roof terrace was really nice. In the sweet town Paul do Mar we ate a lot of tasty food and enjoyed some cocktails while watching the sunrise. There are nice spots for swimming and diving and the sea was warm. Additionally the walks we did were fantastic! We walked along the levadas and we also did the walk to the neighbour town Jardim do Mar, which starts directly from Paul do Mar. Luckily we had the chance to witness the traditional "Festa da Lapa". We really got to know the culture and beautliful nature of Madeira. Finally we enjoyed our stay and say thank you to Giorgio Martin!
