2 wonderful weeks in a wonderful villa

We have spent 2 weeks in this very spacious villa. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures. It is not brand new but very well maintained. The house is equipped with everything you need and more (especially the kitchen has literally everything you could think of). The view is beautiful and the pool really great. We enjoyed the BBQ area quite a lot. Adriana was really nice and very helpful and very quick to respond whenever we had a question or something. The service was really above our expectations. One time there was an issue with the pool which was solved by Adriana within two hours!!! We would definitely come back!

Großartige Woche in einem sehr schönen Haus

Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was für einen Aufenthalt benötigt wird. Pool, BBQ und der Blick sind wunderbar. Die nicht mehr ganz so scharfen Messer haben das Schneiden das eine oder andere Mal zur Herausforderung werden lassen ;-) Was aber das Urlaubserlebnis in keinster Weise geschmälert hat. Das Haus können wir uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Wir haben wunderbare Tage dort verbracht

Wir haben uns in dem Haus sehr gut erholt. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig. Pool und BBQ sind fantastisch. Auch der Ausblick von der Terrasse und den Balkonen ist wunderschön. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet und auch die Inneneinrichtung lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben nur zwei kleine Anmerkungen: Eine Klimaanlage mit Verbindung nach außen gibt es nur in einem Schlafzimmer - wir haben sie während unseres Aufenthalts nicht zwingend gebraucht, aber wir hatten aufgrund der Beschreibung erwartet, dass eine solche Klimaanlage in allen Schlafzimmern installiert ist. In dem Informationsfaltblatt des Hauses ist beschrieben, dass zum Beginn der 2. Woche eine Reinigung erfolgt und auch dass Freitags um 10:00 Uhr jemand zur Poolreinigung kommt - beides fand nicht statt. Wir möchten aber ausdrücklich betonen, dass diese 2 Punkte unseren Urlaub in keiner Weise beeinträchtigt haben und wir bestimmt einmal wiederkommen.

Great August family holiday 2019

We found the description of this villa and the location prior to visiting Madeira, it was as we expected. Easy to drive to from the airport on major roads, and we had booked our car for the 14 days. We would suggest any guests do the same if they want fresh 'British tasting' milk from the supermarket sold at Pingo Doche at the beach in Calheta. The villa is located up the hillside and there is ample of onstreet parking immediately outside. We walked to Arco Da Calheta village corner shops and Loreto which sell fresh bread and rolls and most other essential products, but only fowl tasting longlife milk!! - Lina's at the end of the road is a great find for shoes, clothes, kids toys, household goods, the equivalent of UK's Bargain Buys shops. The church was lovely too. We used the pizza oven and BBQ which were great. Along with the garden and pool, which was short of pool toys but quickly rectified by Gorete during our stay. We didn't use the pool house. There was a great supply of pool towels, sun loungers and cushions, and a washing line. We found the kitchen to be of a good size, with enough utensils and crockery for the 9 of us who stayed. Open planned sitting room/hall/stairs/dinning area was very comfortable and we could all sit around the table of an evening to play games (Uno is provided!) along with completing the children's puzzles and challenging adult puzzle also provided. Bedrooms upstairs, along with bathrooms and balconies are a lovely size with loads of light. Blackout blinds are provided on the 4 bedrooms to the rear of the property that face the sea views, as this is where the sun rises and sets. We felt safe and secure in the house, and village at all times and thoroughly enjoyed our big family summer holiday with our 7 year old, 11 year old, 13 year old and couples. Gorete is very friendly and welcoming, and responds extremely quickly to any contact you have with her. The villa was centrally located on the Island for our visits by car to Calheta's beach and supermarket, Jardim du Mar's beautiful promenade, Porto Moniz's stunning lagoons, the volcanic caves at Sao Vincent, Funchal's CR7 Museum, Monte Palace Botanical Gardens, tut tuts, cable cars and shops, Santana's thatched houses, Santa Cruz's waterpark, and of course the airport.

Great villa with stunning views.

Enjoyed our stay, villa very spacious with beautiful gardens & pool but was mislead by description of amenities ie, no sofa beds in any of bedrooms, 2 bedrooms having double beds & not king as described. No bicycles ,no pool table or table tennis facilities. Contacted the owner regarding the latter& was told these was extras & needed to be booked & paid for in advance but nothing is stated on the website regarding this . Also a bit of confusion regarding the address of the villa as no taxi driver could find it . Other than that we had a fantastic holiday & would visit madeira again.

Large comfortable house in the hills above Calheta

The house itself is very spacious and comfortable, with plenty of bathrooms and showers for everybody, and the pool and outdoor seating area are great. Downsides is that the village of Arco de Calheta is very spread out and you need to drive to get to pretty much everything (there's a mini market and a local cafe a couple of streets up from the house, but Calheta restaurants and supermarket are a drive away). Also if you're a light sleeper, take earplugs - there are plenty of dogs and roosters nearby.

Unbelievable Villa, blown away by how nice and spacious it is inside.

Went with family of 12. 6 of them children. Lots of space, nice size pool. If there had to be a down side it would pool not heated but children still enjoyed it. (We did know this when we booked though) Villa has everything you need and Gorete was easily contactable with any questions we had. Highly recommend a stay at this Villa.

Wonderful Villa with glorious view

My family and I came to Madeira to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday. Our stay at village calheta was simply wonderful and helped by the superb villa. Anyone looking for a luxurious place to relax and enjoy the lovely climate could do no better than choose this place.

geschmackvoll es Haus in sehr schöner Lage

THE BEST VILLAGE IN CALHETA

Great house. Stunning view to the Ocean. Large rooms, large living rooms. Kitchen equipped with everything what we need. The BBQ area is fantastic for we spend one amazing evening. We loved! Belle maison très spacieuse

Nous avons bien profité de cette maison spacieuse malgré une météo bien humide. Les soirées auprès de la cheminée ont un peu réchauffé le rez de chaussée mais la maison demeurait un peu humide et fraîche. C'est un peu dommage que nous n'avions pas accès au chauffage. La maison est bien située pour visiter l'ile et l'endroit est très calme.

Super house - conveniently located and easy to get to, in upper part of Arco da Calheta.

We were here between the 18th December and 29th December (2017). This is a 5 bedroom house, two bedrooms are ensuite and the other 3 share a bathroom on the upper floor (four of them have sea views and the other a view of the mountain). There is also a full bathroom, easily reached from the upper floor, on the ground floor. With another full bathroom accessible from the kitchen door on the ground floor in the garden. Very comfortable beds. Balconies at the rear of the property (one very large) run the entire length (outside the bedrooms) with sea views, and on the 28th December we sighted 5 pilot whales from the larger of the two in the bay (for 1/2 an hour). Heating is provided by electric heaters in 4 of the bedrooms and one in the TV area downstairs with a very easy to light and effective wood burning stove (as much wood as you like) in the open plan living area. The kitchen is very well appointed with seating for at least eight at a table. Outdoors plenty of seating and a very comfortable hammock. We didn't use the barbecue or pool. But both looked great. The area at the top of the village in Arco da Calheta is quiet with an uninterrupted view of the bay. Supermarkets are available either in Loreto (medium size and 5 mins driving) and Calheta Beach has a decent size Pingo Doce with all you would need. There is also a very good Continente supermarmarket in Ribeira Brava in the commercial area on the road out to Sao Vicente (about 15 minutes from the Villa). They are all open for long hours late into the night and are very well priced despite the poor Euro exchange rate at the moment (cheaper than the Canaries for example). Good Wi-Fi coverage in the living area downstairs and in one bedroom upstairs. I would recommend this house to anyone who wanted a large well appointed house in a good area. A car is vital to get around on the superb, but vertiginous Madeiran roads. The weather was great with daytime temperatures up to and over 20 degrees C on most days, but falling sharply in the evening. The owner Lili is available by telephone or email and went out of her way to make us welcome. She has a couple locally who will deal with any questions or problems (we didn't have any), Maria and Jose. Milk and fruit and the traditional Madeiran cake were there on our arrival to greet us. There is a very good Italian (pizza) restaurant in Loreto (5 mins away) and about 5 bars within the same distance. Highly recommend.

Lovely Villa

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this beautiful villa. It is very well equipped and in a lovely location. Jose and Maria who look after the villa were lovely and very helpful. We hired a car which we picked up from the airport and Jose also met us at the airport and took the rest of my family to the villa as we could not all get into one car. He also took us to a large supermarket so we could stock up on some essentials. It was my birthday whilst I was in Madeira, we went to Reeds hotel for afternoon tea, it was a beautiful hotel and the food was lovely. In the evening we went to the savoy hotel which was a short car drive from the villa, lovely food and a lovely sunset, Jose took us to both locations and picked us up again. We spent some time in Funchal the capital of Madeira well worth a visit, especially the cable cars and the stunning gardens at the top, plenty to do and see. There is a lovely Italian restaurant a 5 minute drive from the villa, great food at good prices. There is one small supermarket within walking distance and another further on and a couple of local bars. We would recommend either hiring a car or asking Jose to take you to places his prices are very reasonable. We would certainly recommend this villa lovely pool and plenty of outside space with a BBQ and a pizza oven. We found Lilliana so helpful when booking just wished we had stayed longer.
