  • If you like nature and want to be away from busy, noisy, stressful city; this stone wall house offers you a great place to relax and have a romantic time near the nature and not far from Calheta beach sea front.
    It is in a very quiet, peaceful; in the middle of a small village called “Florenças” there you can feel like you are in paradise.
    We just kept the cottage in an old Madeira style with thick stone walls, so it can be fresh in summer and not so cold in winter.
    A beautiful, holiday house fully equipped, located in the quiet village of Arco Da Calheta on the south west of the island. Accommodation consists of 1 bedrooms, 2 bathroom with fitted shower, kitchen, lounge with a lovely patio area outside through patio doors with a BBQ area; where one can enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains, ocean and sunsets and a nice place to relax and enjoy a nice glass of wine. This house is situated at just a few minutes way from supermarkets and coffee shops. The price includes all utilities (water, electricity, wi-fi internet, bed linen, towels, heat and or air-condition), end cleaning and cleaning in between stay cleaning if requested.

Ein super Service und sehr freundlicher Empfang. Die Wohnung hat alles was man braucht und liegt in einem idyllischen Bergdorf... für Wanderer Ideal... Der Blick auf das Meer und der Sonnenuntergang lassen einen die Strapazen der Wanderungen vergessen. Wir würden jederzeit diese Unterkunft wieder auswählen.

Tolle Unterkunft von privatem Vermieter - mit Herz gepflegt und eingerichtet! Grandioser Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang, direkt aus dem eigenen Jacuzzi auf der Terasse. Voll ausgestattete Küche und Waschmaschine Trockner. Wir würden hier jederzeit wieder herkommen, ist auch für einen längeren Aufenthalt geeignet. Man braucht allerdings einen Mietwagen, sonst kommt man hier nicht hin und auch nicht zu den anderen Attraktionen auf Madeira. Die Lage oben auf dem Berg ist halt etwas "ab vom Schuss".

Séjour a Madère

Nous avons passés d'excellente vacances a Madère, les paysages sont magnifiques. Le logement était propre, et très bien équipé. Nous avons été très bien accueilli par la propriétaire. Je recommande !

Schönes Haus am Berghang

Das Haus mit Aussicht aufs Meer liegt schön ruhig an einem Berghang. Es ist gut ausgestattet und verfügt über eine große teils überdachte Terrasse. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit und wohnen im gleichen kleinen Ort. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Ein traumhafter Platz zur Entspannung

Die Lage der Ferienwohnung ist wirklich top. Tolle Terrasse mit grandiosem Meerblick und Sicht auf den Sonnenuntergang. Sehr entspannend der eigene Whirlpool. Ausstattung in der Küche ist prima, man könnte auch außen grillen. Zwei Duschen / Toiletten. Die Zufahrt bis zur Unterkunft ist - madeiratypisch - schon eine gewisse Herausforderung. Die Vermieterin (mit ihrem Mann) ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und einladend. Wir haben zur Ankunft und auch sonst kleine Aufmerksamkeiten erhalten und haben uns darüber sehr gefreut. Great stay at Catinho da Calçada

After a very detailed itinery we were a bit lost after arriving at the Caminho das Florenças 😅 but relatives of our host were already waiting for us and giving us a very warm welcome 🤗 with typical local snacks and drinks from Madeira to enjoy during our stay. The view from the terrace and directly from the bed 😅😃👍 is really breathtaking. Enjoying a glass of wine when the sun sets and having breakfast on the terrace in the morning were only some of our highlights. We could also harvest oranges, lemons and tangerines 🍊 in the small garden belonging to the holiday house. And we really enjoyed our evening stays in the Bar do Russo which belongs to José and Mary. The poncha José creates is really worth tasting 👍😋 Don‘t miss the bar with the blue awning - Mary and Joe do whatever they can to make you feel comfortable. Be curious to meet the locals and spend a bit of your time with them when staying at the bar 😃

Authentic Suburban Guest House overlooking Calheta

This renovated rustic Madeiran guest house is up in the hills above the main town of Calheta, in Arco de Calheta parish. It is comfortable and fairly quiet. The hosts are extremely nice and accommodating and very responsive to anything that is needed, and were very helpful. Finding the property is somewhat difficult initially, both with Google maps (as warned) and even with the provided directions (which are a bit difficult to understand) but Jose' and Mary graciously met us in town when we called being lost, and led us to the property, showed us where to park and showed us into their guest home. For the uninitiated, driving up in these areas is an experience, so be prepared! There are some small limited local groceries and a few bars and snack bars nearby, but otherwise any other shopping or dining out will require an 8-10 min drive down toward the beach or into Calheta so we planned ahead. We acclimated as the week went on! We very much enjoyed the hospitality, being close to the high mountains and the Levadas, seeing the change of weather and the high mountain view of the valley, beach and the ocean. Jose' and Mary are extremely wonderful hosts and their home is very comfortable. It is a wonderfully remote, genuine Madeiran experience!

We had a wonderful time here, the host was very friendly and welcoming! We appreciated your gifts to us very much. The pictures on the listing dont do it justice, its much better than it looks. Fabulous views from the terrace and bedroom. Really good communication meant we had no trouble finding it. Its got everything you need, is close to shops and quiet. 5 stars.

Der Kontakt mit den Gastgebern war unkompliziert, zuverlässig und sehr freundlich. Eine genaue Anfahrtsbeschreibung vor Anreise wurde uns zugesandt. Viele kulinarische Gastgeschenke erwarteten uns bereits. Darüber haben wir uns sehr gefreut.Auch war bei Rückfragen Mary sofort telefonisch oder per whatsapp erreichbar bzw. ganz schnell vor Ort.Das Ferienhaus mit Terrasse und Whirlpool war sehr sauber und hübsch eingerichtet. Genügend Handtücher, Bügel und sogar Verbrauchsmaterial für Küche und Bad waren vorhanden. Für die Unterbringung der Kleidung und Lebensmittel ist in den Schränken reichlich Platz.Allerdings gibt es in den Bädern kaum Abstellflächen. Vielleicht könnten dort Regale oder Hängeschränke angebracht werden.2 Punkte möchten wir erwähnen, da mit dem Inserat (Fotos bzw. Text) nicht übereinstimmen und geändert werden müssten:Die Terrassenmöbel sind aus Holz und ohne Aufleger. Sie sind schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. müssten aufgearbeitet oder ausgetauscht werden. Das TV-Gerät ist kein Smart-TV, man kann damit nicht ins Internet. Es können auch nur portugiesische und englischsprachige Sender empfangen werden (deutsch nur RTL).Ansonsten ist das Ferienhaus sehr zu empfehlen. Der Blick und die Ruhe, einfach toll!

Wonderful House

Es ist ein außergewöhnliches sauberes und großes Haus. Ein weiterer Highlight war das Whirlpool. Es wurde neu angeschafft. Die Vermieter absolut nett. Wir wurden mit Wein und Spezialäten zu Beginn verwöhnt.

Toller Urlaub

Das Haus ist super, bietet einigen Luxus(Spülmaschine, Waschmaschine, Trockner, 2 Bäder). Aber... das Haus liegt hoch in den Bergen, 15 Minuten kurvige Straße von Calheta, muss man mögen. Dafür hat man einen wunderschönen Blick von der tollen Terrasse (mit Grill).

Komplett eingerichtetes Haus mit großer Terrasse, Meeresblick und Jacuzzi

Der Weiler Florencas ist zwar etwas abgelegen, etwa 10-15 Autominuten oberhalb von Calheta, aber Einrichtung und Ausblick machen das vollständig wett. Bis Funchal sind es etwa 45 Minuten. Natürlich braucht man bei der Lage ein Mietfahrzeug. Zum Empfang durch die sehr engagierte Vermieterin Maria (spricht Englisch und Spanisch) gab es Wein, Limonaden, Kuchen, Kekse, Früchte und mehr. Bei Problemen war sie schnell vor Ort, wohnt gleich um die Ecke. Das Haus verfügt über 2 Badezimmer, 3 Schlafräume, von denen einer etwas düster ist, der obere allerdings der "Knaller": mit Blick auf das Tal und das Meer. Bei gelegentlich kühlen Temperaturen war auch die Klimaanlage/Heizung sehr willkommen. Die Küche war vollständig ausgestattet, u.a. mit Geschirrspüler, Waschmaschine und Trockner. Die Terrasse ist mit Grill, Gartenmöbeln, Liegen, Sonnenschirm und neuerdings einem Jacuzzi ausgestattet, den wir ausgiebig genutzt haben. Insgesamt, auch hinsichtlich des Preises sehr zu empfehlen, jedenfalls für 2-4 Personen.
