Bear - Private Master Bedroom near DT and 17th Av

Enjoy Calgary and Alberta's highlights near downtown and the vibrant 17th Avenue by staying in our Character Home with a nature theme.



The Master Bedroom is in the 2nd floor and has a private balcony. Take the fresh air in the yards and enjoy our shared spaces with a cup of coffee. On the street, enjoy the views with the trees.



Experience restaurants, bars, and places of interest within a walking distance. Do you prefer to move around Calgary? Jump on the C-Train by walking only three blocks!



The Space:

This is a Character House located on a beautiful street full of trees and green views. The architecture is that of a typical Calgarian house from the past century (three floors: basement, main, and second floor). The house has been fully renovated during the past years, so you will enjoy a nice traditional house while you are totally comfortable. The house's theme is nature, so you will find plants around the house, your bedroom will have the name of an animal, and you will find some fancy wallpapers around.



We are very friendly, and we promote that friendliness and respect among all our guests. You will use the main door of the house to come in. If you drive, you will be able to park on the street (please send us your plate number and province in advance if you require parking!).



In the Master bedroom Bear, you will have a Queen size bed, with a really comfortable mattress (firm); a private balcony with view to the beautiful 13th Avenue full of trees; a huge wardrobe to place all your clothes and belongings; a private couch to relax after a busy day; a very big desk in case you want to work, and everything you need to be comfortable. The common areas are shared, and all the spaces are always kept clean, so everybody in the house is encouraged to clean after themselves. You will have a great and different experience here!



Guest Access:

In addition to the Bear bedroom, you will be able to access all the other open spaces of the house (restricted areas will be signaled with a board).

Indoor shared spaces:



- Sunroom. Beautiful light room with comfortable armchairs to relax while seeing the street through the big windows. There are trays for the shoes labeled for the different bedrooms in the house.



- Living room. Spacious light room, ideal to read and hangout on the couch. It has a table to enjoy a coffee or tea while reading or relaxing.



- Fully equipped kitchen. You will find cupboards and sections in the fridge labeled "Help yourself", where you can take free food for breakfast, and drinks from the coffee station. You will find all the cutlery and dishes needed to cook, should you wish too. Cupboards and fridge sections are labeled with a predefined space for each bedroom.



- Dining room. Ideal to have bigger meals. There is a table to have meals, or to use as a work station, should you want to use this space instead of your private bedroom.



- Laundry room. You will find the washer and dryer here, and all the soaps and things that you may need to do the laundry.



- Washrooms: two fully equipped washrooms, one upstairs and one in the basement, each of them with a bathtub.



Outdoor shared spaces:



- Front yard: small yard with view to the street. Ideal to hangout and see people walk by.



- Back yard: there is a deck with a barbecue griller, should you wish to cook a barbecue. There are comfortable chairs and a small table, in case you want to relax outdoors!



The Neighborhood:

Sunalta is a very accessible and peaceful neighborhood in Calgary. Despite being close to the vibrant 17th Avenue, this is a quiet community near downtown. It is a picturesque old neighborhood, with many old houses with architecture that comes from the nineteenth century. There are many parks around and green areas, so you will love talking a walk around the neighborhood!



Getting Around:

First things first... Are you hungry? You will be able to find different types of food on the 14th Street, just one block away.



Now, if you want to move to everywhere in Calgary using public transportation, you can jump into the C-train, just three blocks away from the house! To get to the C-train, just walk to your right after coming out of the house, and then turn right in the first intersection. Keep walking three blocks and you will see the big Sunalta C-train station!



Are you bringing your car? We are allowed to park outside the house. Please, send us a message to arrange your parking spot just in front of the house! If there is not a good spot for your car, you can park on the 16th street, where there is always an available spot. You won't have to pay anything for parking and this is a totally safe neighborhood!



Other Things to Note:

Respect and friendliness to all other guests is expected and encouraged.



Please, take your shoes off when coming into the house. Use the shoe tray assigned to your bedroom in our sunroom.



Use the spaces in the kitchen assigned to your bedroom and don't forget to clean after yourself!
