The Perfect Holiday House!

Wow…This is amazing…how cool is this place….I don’t want to leave…..were some of the comments from our party of 7 in January 2024! Everything was thought of & provided for our family holiday & we were able to tick off the swim with sea lions & dolphins experience from our bucket list! Kids loved the darts, ping pong, spa & kayak! There was plenty of space with the most amazing views & sunsets! Thank you Anne & Shades of Blue Eco Retreat! Highly Recommended!!!

Great views

We enjoyed our stay and views are amazing. We would suggest you have your oven looked at your oven as we couldn't get any heat into the oven and when it takes 45 minutes to cook garlic bread that should take 10 minutes we think there is something wrong. We had the oven on 260 and couldn't burn anything.

Wow What A View!!

Wow!! What an amazing house 🙏 The views from sun up to sun down are so beautiful. The house has everything a family could need for a comfortable stay. And the night sky looked awesome to see without all the city lights. We highly enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend visiting shades of blue🙏❤

Calm and Serene

The house accommodated 6 of us ladies beautifully. Ample space with 4 bathrooms and 5 bedrooms and great outdoor area. Stunning view, very calming and serene. Would highly recommend staying here and Anne was a wonderful host

Beautiful Spot, great house

House was well set up for 12 people even though there were only 2 of us for this stay. Found the location was excellent for seeing the main sights around The Streaky Bay Area. House is about 25 mins out of Streaky Bay so supplies and meals easily accessible if required. A really comfortable bed!

Best stay on the west coast

We have enjoyed the best holiday on the remote west coast, near sceale bay. This house is immaculate and the spa and games room was a huge hit with the kids. The house has all you need so don’t bring too much gear. The owner (Anne) was a huge help and responded immediately with any queries we had. Shades of blue is several steps above any other accommodation offered on the west coast of South Australia. We will be back!

Serene Happiness

Our host Anne couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. Minor hiccups were swiftly dealt with and the facilities on offer were second to none in this fairly isolated part of the state. With almost no neighbours and stunning views out over Baird's Bay it was an idyllic tranquil place to spend a week, even in the middle of winter. The isolation was the attraction for us coupled with the luxury and facilities provided. The kitchen is very well appointed as are the living and bedroom areas. Lots of little touches made our stay special. It goes to show what can be done living off grid too as the home is completely run by a self contained solar/diesel plant. Our only regret is that it is a LONG drive from Adelaide (~8hrs), otherwise I could see us coming back more and more often.

Incredible house and view

We recently stayed here fir my birthday celebrations for family and friends. Our only regret is that we didn’t book for longer. Could not fault anything. House was just perfect, clean and equipped with whatever you needed. Views just spoke for themselves. Honestly, do yourself a favour and go and stay. Communication with owner was faultless too. Already trying to work out when we can go there again … but longer than two nights because that just didn’t seem long enough to fully appreciate the home, the view and spectacular scenery nearby.
