We appreciate your love for nature and choosing a place where pictures do not do justice to the vast immense display of all jungle animals. From the big birds to the monkeys, grasshoppers and bugs ..: all welcome as we are guests of nature - thank you for your beautiful words which I’ll paste below in English for future readers. Sending love to your family to France ! 🙏🏽 mercie Nature Immersion You need to climb a steep hill to access the house, but this allows you to live in the canopy with birds, including toucans and macaws, and even howler monkeys. There are several open areas in the house, which allows you to feel the proximity to all these living beings that inhabit the jungle day and night. You can hear the sound of the waves in the background. We didn't rent any means of transportation. Less than 1 km away is the main road. A bus shuttles every hour from Limon to Manzanillo (passing through Puerto Viejo and Cahuita) at a very low cost. We cooked several meals at home. There is a small grocery store less than 1 km away. You can find fresh vegetables and fruits, and the fish is frozen but fresh. We pick limes on the property! There are several good restaurants all around within a radius of 1 to 3 km. It's easily walkable, or many taxis pass by regularly. Note: Immersion in nature also means the presence of all sorts of insects; you need to appreciate them!

This woman never stayed at Cielo Mar. She rented it for her clients...who I have still never heard from. The party showed up without a four wheel drive in torrential storms, and literally could not get to the house. That's equal to wearing a prom dress to a soccer game. That tells the story.. The rest is gas lighting. My neighbor gave them a ride up the hill and Before they ever saw the house they told him they were not staying up there in the storm and did not rent a four wheel drive,so they couldn't . It was pouring rain and a record storm. (actually 24 inches fell over a 2 day period,shutting down the entire town.) Patricia's clients did not contact the caretaker that morning as agreed with their arrival time( they had his phone number,whatsapp number and email. He had no direct contact information for them.,neither did my manager,or me..only Patricia's email. Roads and bridges closed,so assumption was made the people were delayed. Carlos, the caretaker emailed my manager,who is in Argentina getting medical treatment. He first contacted Joaquin to confirm if anyone had heard from the guests,then sent Carmen home because of the storm. Everything was finished but the floors. I know that my maid would never allow mold to grow. I just received a 5 star review from the guests who was there two weeks prior to these people...and he is an airbnb host. I agreed to reimburse hotel room that night. My crew finished floors the next morning. Patricia said such unbelievable things I called and asked my ex husband to go up and look at the house and let me know its condition...and to take pictures. My ex husband took pictures and inspected the house. There was not mold,and house was clean. Washer is rusty,but works . The ocean rusts things. There was 24 inches of rain and the upstairs room shutters were left open.Of course it dripped through. It did not pour through ceilings and could have been stopped by closing the shutters. My crew insisted the guests opened the shades,while there. So I am going down here next week and I will use my own eyes to see any deficiencies. I do know either Patricia or her clients were not honest about their lack of appropriate transportation,and did not communicate during or after the storm. I know her pictures never arrived,but my ex spouses came right through end showed everything clean and together.He is my worst critic and if anything was terrible,he would have been glad to tell me about it. Patricia..not her clients.. complained to me about the house...and she had never bern there. I cannot change the weather. The guests could have and should have come prepared to stay in a rainforest mountain,with a vehicle to get there.

April, I find your review unfair and it smells a little fishy. As often happens in a small town you were obviously snared by local gossip or are a personal friend of the “beloved caretaker” I let go in May. The behavior which created the management change was anything, but “beloved!” I would never fire a productive employee…much less a beloved one. We have had many delighted guests since May. The fresh energy has been awesome and beneficial. The flower gardens are spectacular and jungle trails are open. Pool freshly grouted, house freshly painted, more wildlife than ever. Cielomar is in primary rainforest. The week you stayed with us it RAINED heavily and there were strong storm winds, causing most of the issues you complain about. The skylight was fixed when the rain quit, as was the shade. The minute I was told you had an issue, we sent our contractor to the house. He said that your entire family was happily playing in the pool, and you told him everything was fine. Your review doesn’t reflect that you sent the maintenance guy away. In spite of the fact I can’t control the weather, and your expectations were that of a hotel, rather than a private home I sent you half of your rent back. The delay was because you did not give me your account information and I had to request it a second time. I wish your stay had gone better, but I feel I have done the best I can to overcompensate you and make it good.
