Our stay at Casa de Amigos was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, relaxed, and completely at home. The property is beautifully maintained, thoughtfully designed, and perfectly captures the laid-back luxury that we were looking for in our Costa Rica vacation! Communication with both the owner and the house manager Shawna was fast and thorough. She helped with booking our rental cars, golf carts, dinner reservations, and excursions! Even a last minute surf lesson! The location is unbeatable... peaceful, and just minutes from the beach with the beach access directly across the street, making it easy to enjoy both relaxation and adventure. Along this path we even saw a family howler monkeys one morning! The accommodations were spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed, with everything you could possibly need... towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, kitchen utensils, even spices! We would return in a heartbeat and recommend Casa de Amigos without hesitation to anyone visiting the area.

"WOW! We’ve officially found our forever vacation spot. Our family of 10 stayed here over Christmas 2025, and the experience was flawless. The home was spotless and well-organized, with an amazing pool kept at the perfect temperature. Our daily routine was a dream: a quick stroll to the local coffee shop for fresh acai bowls, followed by a morning dip at the beach. Access is directly across from the entrance—it couldn't have been more convenient! The hosts provided all the beach essentials, which was so helpful since this is easily one of the top three most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. We spent countless hours in the water and can’t wait to come back!"The included concierge service was a massive bonus and absolutely instrumental in organizing our trip. Shawna, specifically, was phenomenal. Her recommendations and seamless booking process made our vacation truly successful. We highly recommend utilizing her services to book these specific excursions: the incredible 'surf and turf' chef meal from Flaming Foods, relaxing in-house massages, and an unforgettable yacht day tour."Our host, Scott, was absolutely incredible—friendly, professional, and so easy to work with. He even followed up with a phone call after our stay to ensure we enjoyed our trip. When asked for suggestions for improvement, I honestly couldn't think of a single thing. We had the BEST TIME during our stay! The house had everything we could possibly want or need. The restaurant next door has amazing food and the staff was unbelievably friendly and assisted us with other activities we did while there. The property Manager was extremely helpful and quick to respond to texts when we had questions. 10/10 recommend Casa Amigos for your stay in Costa Rica!

Perfect place for our family! The grounds were beautiful, the house was very nice and well stocked! Our hostess was very attentive while we were there. Our communication with her was minimal prior to our stay! Booking excursions through her was probably best, but with a large group I wanted some family excursions booked in advance, so we were on our own booking them. The Beach just footsteps away was wonderful! I would book this place again! Not disappointed at all!

Pura Vida!

Our family of 11 (6 adults 5 children) had a wonderful stay at Casa de Amigos. The house (inside and out) was well appointed and comfortable. The upstairs casita was a peaceful and delightful escape for my husband and I at day’s end, while the other’s enjoyed their cozy spaces on the main floor. The kitchen island was the hub of the indoor living space for us. The well equipped kitchen made meal preparation easy - ample plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, utensils, pots and pans, dish towels, hot pads, hot/cold water dispenser, ice maker- we weren’t wanting for anything. The children enjoyed the foosball and ping pong tables daily. Of course the salt water pool and the easily accessible beach were the big hits. The wagon made hauling every conceivable sand toy, chairs, towels, coolers, and paddle boards to the beach a breeze. We enjoyed the convenience of having several delicious restaurants (Pots and Bowls, Surf Dog, and Rip Jack) within the gated community. And Shawna (house manager) was great in setting up a private half day catamaran tour (MantaRay) for us. The crew on Grenadine Lady was super attentive and hospitable, and the food and beverages more than satisfied the appetite. Casa de Amigos was a great location for making day trips first into Tamarindo to explore the shops and beach, and then to Los Catalinas - a car-free town where we walked the streets and then took a hike on the Sendaro Trail (approx. 5 km). Casa de Amigos was Pura Vida!

Great location, great beach. Close to the Witches Rock area by water taxi for a couple bucks otherwise it’s a 45 min. drive. We prefer to be at Playa Grande as it far more quiet, safe, has everything you need even in low season. Lots of great restaurants by foot or auto. Just a great place to hang out and relax.

Paradise in Playa Grande

Casa Amigos as quite simply one of the best vacation rentals we have ever had! Let me list out why. 1. The owner Scott was very flexible with us while making the reservation. 2. Shawna the property manager made planning our trip (groceries, excursions, private chef) incredibly easy. 3. Location: the house is located literally steps away from a pristine beach that was never crowded, also about 50 yards from a great little restaurant Cafe Azul Mar. 4. The house was well apportioned with everything you could need in the kitchen as well as beach towels, chairs and boogie boards. 5. The house is exactly as described and looks just like the pictures, the backyard with pool is a beautiful oasis. What an incredible place. We highly recommend Casa Amigos!

The house was very nice, clean, and extremely well appointed. The pool was warm, and the A/C was a blessing. It's very close to the beach, and is well secured for safety. Two way communication with the owner and property manager was easy and responsive.

Casa Amigos is the REAL DEAL

Four siblings and their spouses have been making annual winter vacation trips to Costa Rica for five-years and we all agreed that this property is the best one so far. The house is in very good condition and well maintained. Shawna, the host, was very responsive to all our needs, stocking shelves and refrigerator with items pre-ordered in advance of our arrival. The beds were all very comfortable and there is plenty of comfortable seating, both in the house and around the pool. There are four quality restaurants within easy walking distance from the house and a water taxi provides easy access to shopping and restaurants in Tamarindo. We have already booked our stay for next year! We highly recommend Casa Amigo.

Amazing getaway with friends!

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful property in Costa Rica! The house was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. All the amenities you could possibly need were thoughtfully provided, right down to a lemon squeezer. The bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms were excellent, providing plenty of comfort and privacy.The transportation was seamless and made getting around stress-free. Shawna, the house manager is amazing! She took care of organizing our transportation, and groceries for our arrival.The location was perfect—just a short walk to the beach, which made our days even more enjoyable. We especially loved the outdoor space; the backyard and pool area were a highlight, offering a great space to relax and unwind.Quick stroll down the beach to grab a water taxi to Tamarindo (until 4:30 pm) we booked the same transportation company that picked us up from the airport to pick us up in tamarindo at the end of the night, and they were awesome!Overall, this is a stunning property, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend and hope to be back!

Even better than the pictures online !!

Pictures posted online were true but actually better In person. The place has many wonderful attributes to the way the place is planned out having a general living area, wonderful outside area which was very roomy and the bedrooms with attached bathrooms were wonderful. It is close to the beach and they had all the boogie boards, beach chairs, toys for the pool that can be offered. Like where there were options to insure sand was off your feet so as not to get it in the house. Everything you could ever ask for and appreciated the ability to have food stocked for our arrival even though we did purchase groceries ini Liberia as there is not a fully stocked market close by. We had a chef prepare a special dinner for our dual birthday events we had which was wonderful. Communication with the owner and property manager was a total asset and appreciated. There is a cafe 2 doors down from the residence which was a nice break. I would suggest buying a sufficient amount of suntan lotion before getting there ... and I had read in one review that there were mosquitos and noseeums which we did not have a problem with at all. However we did have quite a few flying grasshoppers which are beautiful but big and scary!! The beach was very nice and really quite private. Highly recommend this wonderful accommodation!!

Cheaper than Therapy 2024

This house was great for 5 friends to get away for 10 days. We had a lot of rain, so surfaces were slippery, take care when feet are wet on ANY tile surface. The house Manager Shawna was wonderful, we were able to reach her in an instant. Shawna organized rides, massages, and even had someone come and dispose of a rather large living cucaracha in one of the showers. (note that the cucaracha was not injured during his eviction, just relocated...same as the spiders) The massage was incredible by the way...ask Shawna to organize at the house. The walk to the beach/ocean was right across from the house and a very short walk. You can walk down the beach toward Tamarindo and catch a small boat across the river for some shopping or cocktails. We had a great meal and margaritas at Pico, highly recommend. Next door we had a great little place called Cafe Mar where we met Grace who fed us almost daily. A bit further down the street you will find Hotel Cantarana, great food and great staff. Tell Mario that the girls from Canada sent you! Long and short is that you will love this rental and the proximity to everything you need...ENJOY!

Great & Relaxing Family Vacation

The process of check in, arranging excursions and the owner calling me to talk through a couple questions I had prior to arrival in Costa Rica was Great! Very personable owner, Scott and Manager, Shawna. The home is as it looks on the listing. We had such an easy 2 minute walk to the ocean and playing on the boogie boards. Amazing!

Great location, amazing property & everything is very well thought & appointed. The house is about an hr ride from the Liberia airport, the beach is a short walk across the street, & there is a great little, affordable, delicious restaurant beside it. All you need for an amazing stay! The house has filtered water, ice maker, great AC, all the things you need for the beach, and the backyard with pool is a delight. Do not hesitate to book this property. We will be back!

House was amazing, updated, comfortable, full amenities, great location with access to the beach right across the street. Quiet neighborhood. Convenient restaurants within short walking distance. Malinches was our favorite. El Huerto in upper Grande has great pizza also. Backyard area and pool awesome. We had a little bad luck with the weather but made the best of those days. Scott was very helpful with information and made sure he made himself available to us. Shawna was great checking us in and giving us good overview. Would recommend this property to any group or large family. Great trip!

Awesome beach house for big families

Great property. 1 minute walk to beautiful Playa Grande beach. Great local restaurants within a 5 minute walk. This place was plenty big enough for our multi generational family group. They had everything you would need for a beach vacation. Easy boat taxi to Tamarindo. Saw Howler Monkeys in neighborhood. Host was great. Only drawback to property was the rough road into the neighborhood from the town of Playa Grande. We had an AWD SUV, but others in our group had a car. Highly recommend getting an SUV to make the driving around easier. Would definitely stay here again.

They have a real state-type lock that keeps the house keys "2". The lock is exposed to the environment and gets hard to open and close. A better way to access the beautiful property should be taken into consideration. Other than that the house is perfect and well maintained. Thanks for letting us stay at your place.

family tropical celebration

We traveled to Costa Rica to celebrate my husband's 70th with our kids and grandkids. The 10 of us ages 70-7 had the time of our lives. Casa Amigos was everything we'd hoped it would be and more. The location right across from the beach access was perfect. The house had plenty of room for 10 people with a pingpong and foosball table for everyone's entertainment. But the best part of the house was the backyard. The setting was beautiful. Between the pool, lounges, cabana and large table you felt like you never needed to leave the house. But leave you must to enjoy the rest of this tropical paradise. There are 3-4 cafe'/bars in Palm Beach Estates within 10min walk. Our favorite though was right next door Cafe'Mar Azul...the food , drinks and service were fantastic . I would recommend renting bikes ( Shawna can help with that ). Our family rode bikes around Palm Beach Estates but we also rode to Playa Grande to the fresh fruit and veggie market. (15-20min ride). Though I think my group liked the brewery next door to the market almost as much as the fruit and veggies. Last but definitely not least was Shawna our amazing concierge. Not only did she help with booking our excursions and shuttles, she was available to help with anything else we wanted or needed while we were there. We couldn't have done it without her !!!! If you're looking for a a warm, beautiful, inviting and fun place to stay in Costa Rica Casa Amigos is the place to stay !!

Excellent stay

We had a great stay in Playa Grande and would definitely return to stay again. The communication with the owners and the house manager were excellent throughout the process. The pictures are accurate and the space is great. We were very comfortable. Having the beach about 50 yards away was awesome and the pool got used a lot too. Shawna, the local manager, was extremely helpful in arranging a cooked meal in the house and local excursions. The walk down the beach and using the water taxi to get to Tamarindo was so easy. Casa Amigos is highly recommended and we hope to make it back soon. Pura Vida!

Casa De Amigos

Our stay at Casa De Amigos was everything and more than we could have even imagined. The property was better than the pictures. It was clean and well maintained. The location was excellent - very quiet and very close to not only the beach but a couple of excellent restaurants within walking distance. We took our 4 children and their spouses with us to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and everything was perfect. The 5 bedrooms and 5 baths fit our needs perfectly. The pool was amazing and the outside areas were perfect for relaxing, eating and enjoying each other's company. We had a chef come in one night and fix us an "authentic" Costa Rican dinner. We had 2 massage therapists come in and give everyone massages. This was an amazing vacation for us and our children. Would highly recommend this property.

Costa Rican Paradise Found: A Vacation Rental Worth Returning To!

This is our 2nd stay at Casa Amigos! We love it. The property is very clean, well stocked, and perfectly situated adjacent to the beach and our favorite restaurant. Shawna, the property manager was great at coordinating our excursions, securing grocers, checking in on us, and was readily available when we needed her. We are already booked again for next year!

Great house, great location!

House is spacious, well equipped and perfect for a group. Access to beach and wonderful restaurant, coffee shop, market all ideal. Shawna was readily available and great to work with. Meylin cooked us a delicious meal the night we arrived and house was stocked with pre ordered groceries. Everyone in our family was 100% happy at Casa Amigos!
