There was a mix-up with my online booking and the kids weren’t added, resulting in our room only having one bed. I understand that this wasn’t the motel’s fault, but when I went down to the owner to discuss the problem, he immediately raised his voice and was very unprofessional towards me. I apologised for the mix-up, I was calm and tried to explain, but he kept telling me it was my fault and was clearly very angry. He even threatened to turn us away.
The room we were given had a pull-out sofa bed that we used for the kids, which was fine, but when I checked my bank account, the motel charged me an extra $20! If the owner had talked to me and explained that there would be an extra fee for the extra bed linen and towels, I would’ve been ok with paying, but I wasn’t informed of any extra costs and just had it taken from my account.
This was our third time staying at the Gallery Motel but I was not treated like a valued customer. The booking mistake wasn’t my fault and I did not deserve to be treated the way I was treated. I also should’ve been told about an extra fee instead of having it just taken from my account without my knowledge. My family will not be staying here again.
