Lovely place but experience a bit spoiled by owners and agency interactions
The location is stunning and the pool and garden areas are just lovely. The property internally needs upgrading. Because it was a lovely place, we chose to overlook the bath towels the size of tea towels, the rickety kitchen and poor crockery, the one fan for four bedrooms, the wasps nest under the table and the bunk bed guard which fell off almost injuring a child. But when the owners tried to charge us for sun loungers that were already broken when we arrived and were aggressively unpleasant about our having two extra guests over for dinner, we felt it really put a dampener on the experience. We never had more than the agreed number of people staying on the property but were twice accused of this in a very abrupt manner. They tried to charge us for a broken pool umbrella and said that since they didn’t know which house broke it, they were just charging each house part of it! The agency did nothing to help and did not appear to read the content of the emails we sent them. It’s a shame they seem to be prepared to compromise a lovely place over upgrades that would cost little and by not having a better client-centred attitude.
