Great Times Next To The River!
This was our second time staying at River Haven. This is the perfect spot for our annual MTB trip.BV trails are just a few miles away and Salida's trails are about 25min. The hot tub and fire chimenea down by the river are some highlights. We hope to be back next year again. Thanks!

Lovely property- minutes away from hot springs
We had a gathering of mostly family to celebrate a birthday and found this property which provided all the amenities and more! We enjoyed the fire pit, the hot tub and the privacy of our own bed rooms. Would definitely stay here again!

Serene River Escape
Property was so cozy and had everything we needed. Additional guest house was adorable although we didn’t use it. Buena Vista is a cute little town to explore. This would be so fun in the summer to come back to so we actually could wade in the river. The hot tub is nice to spend time on the deck listening to the sounds and enjoying the views.

Great Bachelorette Get-away
Myself and four friends had a great time staying here to celebrate a bachelorette. We had a beautiful view of the river and it was great driving distance from town. Our activities included Mt Princeton Hot Springs, a snowshoe trip up to the Tennessee Cookhouse (Leadville), and went to The Lariat in Buena Vista for dinner (excellent food) and a concert. I highly recommend this place and all of the above activities. Definitely would stay again.

Skijoring And Hot Tubbin'
My friends and I stayed here for a weekend of skijoring in Leadville. The spot was perfect- not too far from the event but far enough away that we had a peaceful night avoiding the large crowds. The hot tub was spectacular and the views of the stream were a great addition. The house had everything we needed and more. Overall a fantastic stay. I would highly recommend.

Great stay!
We loved the space! Everyone had their own bedroom, and the huge couch was so nice for everyone to sit and visit. The hot tub was amazing and the view was incredible.

Great winter break
Overall we really enjoyed the location. A few thoughts. The house is comfortable and a great location. Everything worked - and we had no problems. Would love to know where you got the comforter for the upstairs queen bed. On the downside...The towels were fouled - clearly left in the washer way too long before drying and they all smelled bad - so you might want to check with your cleaning service. I wish there was a clock anywhere in the house. The road noise is a bit hectic but to be expected. We enjoyed the trip!

Perfect for ladies trip
My life long girlfriends and I came up to stay at River Haven and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the Chiminea fire pit next to the river and the hot tub was spacious and a delight for the morning or end of the day. The cabin is close to Mount Princeton and we arranged horse back riding with the Mount Princeton stables (Cowboy Casey too us on our adventure) and we stopped in to the hot springs right after to do a soak - there are two hot springs in BV). All of the beds, pillows. linens, towels were comfortable and we all slept well. We didn’t use the bonus cabin that sits steps from the back door and right next to the hot tub but it was great to have the option. One of the best features of this property is the land, there are houses next door but far enough away for privacy, we loved looking out the enormous windows that face the river and watch the river flow while birds would land and take off. Peaceful, cozy, useful would be my three words to describe River Haven. Not to forget the full stocked kitchen: pot's,pan's, full knife stand that cut amazingly, cutting board's, spice's, gas grill - we cooked all of our dinners and never had an issue finding our way thru the kitchen. We were delighted with our stay and had great communication with our host. We highly recommend staying and enjoying River Haven.

Mt Princeton
The property was beautiful and had a lot of cozy accommodations. The hot tub was very clean. Plenty of space for everyone in our group. Natalie the property manager was very responsive and quick to answer any questions. We took a trip to Mt Princeton hot springs which was within 10 minutes of the property. Look forward to a return trip to this property .

River (Fishing) Haven
Great central location for fishing the Arkansas River. Our group of 5 anglers fished the middle Arkansas River both north and south of the property as well as the river access from the back yard. Clean and comfortable accommodations for all.

Take me back!
We were so excited to stay at River Haven just based on Natalies photos but must say the property and facilities way exceeded our expectations! The River Haven is exactly as the name describes, a relaxing retreat nestled on the Ark. In addition to making the perfect backdrop to say our "i do's" river side - we loved fishing every day, hitting the hot tub, and playing games on the beautifully manicured lawn. The trees on the property really make it special compared to other properties nearby. We will be back as soon as we can !

Safe Retreat Near The River
The house is a mix of contemporary and rustic which made it homey. The location was very near the river and it was lovely to sit on the deck and watch people, and birds, float by. The property is very close to a busy highway, which did make for pretty consistent highway noise. However, being so close to the highway made it super easy to get around between BV and Salida and everything in between. There is so much to choose from to do in the area. The rules and checkout procedures are very doable, nothing outrageous. The host was very communicative and thorough.

River Haven 100%
We were so elated to be on a property with private river access. Our family reunion got cancelled, so just being able to stay at the house was amazing and there was plenty to do! We were even able to book a last minute rafting trip at River Runners. The only marginally negative thing was the traffic noise from 285, but without it, we wouldn’t have been on the river. Natalie was extremely communicative and helpful. And once the windows were closed and the A/C was on, you could t even hear it anymore! The hammocks and board games were a hit with the family as well!

Restful River Retreat
Love this property! Nothing overly fancy, but a clean and well kept house with gorgeous views! Buena Vista was a great town and there’s so much to do. We will stay an extra night or two next time!

Perfect location on the river!
If you are looking to stay on the Arkansas River this is the spot for you. My boys fished each day and killed it by catching some monster trout and a few little ones too. The bedrooms are very spacious as well. We will definitely come back!

Perfect Getaway
The photos do not give this place proper justice. The River Haven is a beautiful and peaceful sanctuary. The property is breathtaking, the birds, flowers, patio, hot tub, river, privacy and fire pit left everyone feeling refreshed. We can not wait to come back. Perfect place for a quiet getaway. Please note that the upstairs loft does not have any privacy and the upstairs rooms are pretty hot with no airflow, just be prepared when choosing who gets those rooms. We played board games and enjoyed a late night s’mores hangout. This place is truly special, I teared up looking at the river when we left because we were not ready to leave this magical place.

Thank you for this kind and thoughtful review. To get good airflow, you’ll want to open the sliding glass door upstairs and crack the doors downstairs. This draws a nice cross breeze throughout the house. To cool things down, you can turn on the AC. The remote control for the upstairs AC unit is next to the thermostat for the baseboard heat at the bottom of the staircase.

Outdoor Oasis
This house was perfect for our stay. Our primary purpose for visiting was t mountain bike trails around Buena Vista. The house is a short drive to many trails and also proved to be perfect for relaxing, recuperating, and enjoying some peace and quiet in between rides. We fished, played frisbee golf, and rejuvenated in the hot tub. What a special spot. We would highly recommend this spot and will hopefully be back soon.

Great house, beautiful lot right on the river
We had a great time staying here. Natalie had great communication throughout our stay and everything was seamless wesse checking in and out. The kitchen was very well stocked and there were plenty of linens and towels. We would definitely stay here again! The hot tub and the view of the river with the mountains in the backdrop were a definite bonus!

Beautiful place on the river
We just loved it! Spent 4 days there over Xmas. Did two hikes (not much snow), including one to a waterfall that was mostly frozen. It was stunning. Went to Cottonwood hot springs. Skiing at Copper. Cross country skiing at Ski Cooper. Wow! So beautiful. Had drinks in the old saloon in Leadville and whiskey in the old jailhouse in Buena Vista. The house is warm, cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is tiny but has everything you need to cook a family meal. Hot tub is great. We were a total of 6 people. All good.

Getaway Oasis
What a great hidden oasis in a great location. We enjoyed sitting in the sun by the river, and having a warming fire in the chimnea. Natalie was very responsive and the check in and out process was very easy.

From the amazing views to the outstanding communication with the host, this was an A+ experience. Exceptional extra touches throughout, we didn’t want for a thing. Fabulous outdoor setting!
This was an annual girls weekend getaway with 6 women. With the main house and the little house we had pleanty of room for everyone to enjoy and not feel crowded. The living/dining area is lovely and quite spacious. The kitchen was a little small but we weren't there to cook. The outdoor setting on the river was absolutely beautiful with mature trees, hammocks, chairs, firepit, cornhole game and a large and enjoyable deck with outdoor dining. We loved it and had a great time!!

Mini-Family Reunion - East Meets West
As a family of 6, we enjoyed the spaciousness of this property. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather for our 4 night stay, which allowed us to "catch up" while sitting on the beautiful deck which overlooks the peaceful river. We were entertained by passing rafters/kayakers/paddle boarders, by talking "trash" while competing in Corn Hole, and enjoying a nightcap around the little fire pit. Our days were filled with enjoyable "field trips" to Fairplay, St. Elmo, Leadville and the Burro Race in BV. The only negative to our stay was the constant traffic noise heard in the upstairs bedroom.

Great Stay In Buena Vista Area
We had an amazing stay in this home along the river. It was only two of us so the house was much bigger than we needed but my husband wanted a house on the water with a hot tub, and we are very glad we picked this house. The house had everything we needed and. The location is great and actually located within 10 minutes of every activity we had pre-planned. The kitchen was well stocked (we cooked breakfast several times). Bathrooms were nice and updated with great water pressure. The house does now have A/C and that was an added benefit of some of the hotter days in August we were there. The bedrooms even had a humidifier in them to help with the dry air. We used the hot tub every night and enjoyed the deck/yard area and scenery. We loved this house and would stay here again.

Perfect Accommodations for Our Crew
I send employees on the road for work all summer long and this house was a real treat for them. They were very pleased with everything and I am sitting in my office jealous that I couldn't work from that deck looking at my childhood rafting grounds on the Mighty Arkansas River! The host was fast to respond with anything we needed and was very pleasant to work with. Next time I am going on the road with these guys if this beautiful place is available.

Simply awesome
Beautiful riverfront house, very well stocked with all the indemnities one might need, 6 minute drive to downtown Buena Vista, 10 minute drive to Cottonwood Hot Springs. Collegiate Peaks accentuate the area. A definite 5 star stay.
