Great spot, not perfect
We liked the Shambala and had fun exploring BV and local hot springs. The house was safe and secure in a great location. Wi-Fi worked well and we did a puzzle on the big table. Kitchen was workable but they need a big pot for spaghetti, and you’ll want to bring your own paper towels and TP. Biggest issue was we were cold. Blankets were thin and baseboard heaters weren’t all working. If they fixed those small issues we’d stay again. We had fun.

Your suggestion for a larger pot for spaghetti has been taken into consideration, and we've added one to enhance the cooking amenities.We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the thin blankets and the baseboard heaters. Great house in a great spot!
Shambala did not disappoint. The house was in a great location for getting to town, the river and the mountains. The house was very clean and we had everything we needed for our stay. The street is amazingly quiet with parking was right out front. This area is a mecca for hiking - not crowded and many choices of difficulty. We will definitely book Shambala again when we return.

Sweet stay
Loved this sweet little house! Very comfortable, clean and well-appointed. Perfect location, easy walking distance to shops and restaurants on Main street, nearby a playground and easy drive to Cottonwood Hot springs. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect location
This home was in the perfect location to enjoy all that Buena Vista has to offer. The two bedrooms upstairs and one down allowed for us to have some privacy. The home was bright and clean. We so enjoyed our visit.

Every amenity provided
We very much enjoyed our stay here and were delighted with the thoughtfulness of our host. Every kitchen and bath amenity one could think of was provided. It was a perfect location for walking to downtown, nearby parks and only a short drive to groceries. Thank you for an excellent stay!

Nice home close to conveniences
The home was conveniently located and very clean. It was easy to access and had everything we needed in the kitchen. It got cool at night so extra blankets would have been nice and we also wanted to sit in the backyard but the yard was overgrown with weeds. Lovely house!

Owner's Response: "Thank you for your review! We have extra blankets available in the closets. Also, we are under contract for a complete remodel of the backyard, including a large patio and artificial turf. Unfortunately, the project was delayed because of COVID, but we hope you will check back with us again soon!"

Sweet house!
Shambala is a sweet house with plenty of room for four adults and a couple of children (if allowed). My favorite room was the sunny master bedroom, with an old rocking chair that fit me perfectly. (I'm 5' tall.) The room has enough space for yoga and a skylight perfect for stargazing from bed. This was a great place for a week's escape!

Great place with everything
House was excellent. Our family of four had plenty of room. It was very clean and had everything we needed available. Great backyard, nice grill, convenient location and quiet street. We could walk or ride our bikes to everywhere in town. And BV has about every form of outdoor recreation just outside the front door.

Family Vacation
Shambala was ideal for housing teens, parents, and grandpa for a week of adventures in and around BV! Appreciated having some basics in the house (salt/pepper, plastic bags and foil, laundry detergent....) and close to grocery store, easy walk to downtown, and quiet side street! Owners were quick to respond to our internet questions and that was the only (and minor!) issue we had. This little house is a part of some fun family memories for us!!

Buena Vista getaway
This an adorable house very close to downtown quaint Buena Vista, Colorado. It is very well furnished and impeccably clean. It has 2 good sized bedrooms and bath upstairs and 2 bunk beds downstairs with another full bath. The kitchen is completely ready to go. Every thing you can think of is available. They even left condiments, herbal tea fresh coffee, olive oil. Very sweet of them. We would highly recommend to all our friends.

Comfortable Stay on the West Side of Town
For a short spring break getaway, Shambala was an incredibly comfortable stay for a family of four including two teens who need their space. Kitchen amenities-plus all those small things we forgot at home (coffee filters, oregano, plastic wrap)! Jennifer at Collegiate Peaks was incredibly accommodating when we arrive a little ahead of schedule. At first, I was concerned about being west of Hwy 24, but that proved to be insignificant as it was a super short and easy walk into downtown, and across the street from the church we attend when visiting Buena Vista. The home comfortably sleeps six, but the living room couch only three, so someone was always on the extra chair provided (my daughter now wants the same one for her room). My son loved the super-soft couch blankets! We rented bikes and enjoyed riding in the foothills (go see the guys at @BoneshakerCycles). It's about a 20-minute drive to Mt Princeton hot springs, and an even shorter drive to K's Burgers and Ice Cream (but get there well before closing time as when the closing bell tolls, they stop serving). I'd recommend Shambala if being downtown isn't a must.

We were in town for a bike Polo tournament and this place fit our needs perfectly. Only a short walk to down town. Quiet neighborhood. Super close to all the fun! We will be staying here again!!

Cute, conveniently located bungalow near Main Street, Buena Vista
Shambala was a cute, clean, nicely appointed bungalow that was pretty much as advertised. We stayed for Paddlefest over Memorial weekend and were able to easily walk to the park for the watercraft demos as well as walking downtown to events and restaurants. We barely used our cars. VERY conveniently located. The living room was way more spacious than you would have expected, and bedrooms were very comfortable. The linens and towels were great, and it was fun to watch Neltflix one of the nights we were there. It was nice to find some tasty snacks on the kitchen table when we arrived. And though we didn't use it, they had an espresso maker in addition to the coffee maker, and some nice Starbucks roast in the cupboard. It was also useful having a washer/dryer on the premises. Keep in mind that the two upstairs bedrooms share a bath, so though one of them could technically be called the "master" with a door directly into the bathroom, the other room uses the same bath. The bunk bedroom downstairs uses the downstairs bathroom. One note: If you like a hot bath, this is not the place for you. To get water hot enough to fill a tub, you have to start and stop several times while filling. The water was fine for a shower, however. There were a few things the hosts could do the improve the rental: 1. There is no place to hang towels in the upstairs bathroom. A few hooks outside the bathroom door would do the trick. 2. They provided cone filters for a basket-style coffee maker, so a lot of grounds leaked into the coffee pot each time we made coffee. Basket filers are needed. 3. The living room could use an additional comfy chair to accommodate the number of guests able to sleep there. Also, we were surprised to find when we arrived (May 2018) that the house next door had been demolished and there was just a dirt-filled lot there with construction equipment. Not sure if that will be an issue for future guests, but it was an eyesore. All in all, however, I'd recommend this rental. It's cute, in a great location, and the owners have done a great job providing guests with what they need for a comfortable stay.

Cynthia, we are glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Shambala and Buena Vista. We also appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement. We have added towel racks to the bathroom doors, stocked up on basket filters, and got a super comfy butterfly chair for the living room. That was a great idea! The neighbors are working on building a beautiful new home next door, it should be near completion by the fall of 2018. Thanks again for helping us improve the overall experience for future renters. Perfect for our trip
We visited Buena Vista for a long weekend. The house was perfect for our situation. It was very close to town, everything was new,comfortable, clean and spacious. We appreciated the wifi, the games and the chocolate on the counter! Definitely would stay again. BV is a FUN! town.
