The lobby is amazingly beautiful. It comes with a price: customers are constantly bugged with a stream of people coming to take a photo.
The hotel personnel is very friendly, especially Peter came out of his way to help us to buy the medication across the street.
Check-in lady, though, made feel one of us bitterly ignored on arrival.
Rooms are pleasant but the usability is horrible and it looks like whoever designed, never stayed in a hotel. You have to click too many light switches to get what you want. Night light near bed activates with movement but there is also another night light, which apparently does not work.
In the bathroom, a night light above the toilet comes on after you turn off the main ceiling light, which would be perfect — if it stayed on all night. It does not!! So you need to bang around at night to find the toilet… or get blinded with the way-too-bright light, and then your sleep is over. Front desk people did not know how it works.
The toilet is cramped right behind the door and if anybody enters the bathroom while you sit down, god help your toes!
The same is true for the shower, you cannot have both, the mat in front of the shower and closed doors, because the doors open out and moves the mat.
Restaurant service was the worst we have experienced in Budapest. The waiter did not seem to be very interested in us and the second glass of wine arrived only after the dinner - and the choice was not mine! We will not stay here again.
