Erika our host was great - she was there to welcome us and close by to answer all of our questions that we had. This was our first VRBO experience. Family of 13 ranging from 1 yr to 62! Walking distance to grocery, beach and many restaurants. Perfect for families when kids nap at different times. Amazing pools and amount of surprise items in the house was great (stroller, car seats, baby gate, play pen, toys)

Rhoads 2025 Reunion

The entire family has an excellent stay creating cherished memories. We wanted for nothing. The home manager made the checking in and out process easy. The home(s) felt like being in our own homes - comfortable and loving. Would highly recommend.

Very enjoyable stay

Family vacation-ages 22-70. Location is great for walking to restaurants and about 3 blocks to the beach. Pools in the property are really nice in the afternoons and it was nice and quiet at night.

Ringing in 2025!

This villa escape was perfect for ringing in 2025!I booked this VRBO for a holiday with friends. We are 5 couples (ages 50) looking for a rental that would allow us to enjoy a vacation with comfortable accommodations and room to spread out. It was a short walking distance to grocery store (Chedraui) and easy walk to one of the best stretches of beach in Bucerias!This place checked all the boxes and then some!The owners, Jack & Sylvia, have a beautiful villa that met all our needs. The outdoor space in the villa was the best part of the experience. The kitchen on lower level of Casa Marilyn is next to an outdoor sitting/eating for 12 overlooking the pool. The pool was well maintained and great for cooling off in the hot sun. There were plenty of lounge chairs for lounging by the pool. The upper balcony with the smaller pool had a variety of sitting areas and was perfect spot for morning coffee and enjoying the morning sun. The kitchen in casa Marilyn is well equipped. There are what look like newer appliances (fridge and stove) in both kitchens. We also enjoyed using the barbecue.Erika (the hostess) was responsive and easy to communicate with. She met us on arrival and provided an orientation to our accommodations. Erika also helped us coordinate a caterer (Monica) to cook a fabulous taco feast for New Year’s Eve! The meal was delicious and one of the highlights of our trip! We were able to enjoy the fireworks from the upper balcony of the Casa Sylvia on New Year’s Eve

Great villa for large groups

We had a family Christmas stay at this villa with about 10 adults. Each of us could have our own space and bathrooms which was great! There were also lots of spaces for us to hang out separately if we didn’t want to all be together, but really great large gathering areas too for Christmas activities/games. The water pressure was not great (especially if you wanted an hot shower) and the beds could be a smidge more comfortable with some updated pillows but cons were not big enough to knock a star. Good location close to whatever you’ll need and overall a really great stay.

Suntastic!

This property, location, manager and chefs were all 100% top-shelf! We all had so much fun! The casa's were absolutly fantastic! Pools, grounds and manager were wonderful! Erick was great to deal with and eager to accomodate us. Check-in was well coordinated. Chef-cooked meals were supurb! Location was fantastic with a short walk to beach, shopping and restaurants. Erika provided a contact for shuttle service from and too the airport. Aldo was prompt and professional and on-time. Not one thing bad about the entire trip other than it could have been longer! Jack and Sylvia have a wonderful property to share. I hope to book it again next year! Thank you to all that made this stay so great!

Great place with lots of space

We stayed here with a total of 9 people ranging in age from 7-50 and everyone was comfortable. The ground-level pool was a huge hit. The spiral stairs to get to the rooftop were a little much for some of our crowd so we didn’t use the other pool much. Lots of space to spread out and the AC worked well which was great because it was very hot during our visit.

Great family time

Casa Escapar el Frio was a wonderful spot for our family to gather. We loved the layout and the kids spent many hours in the pool. The location is very good in Bucerías with easy access to the beach, zona Dorado and good restaurants. The weather was very hot and humid but mostly sunny and did not stop us from having a great time. We would love to visit again.

Great property for Families!!

We were a group of 4 families, 8 adults and 6 kids between 2 and 6 years old. We had a great time! There was plenty of space for everyone and the pool was amazing. We loved the variety of places to hang out in this property with the rooftop patios, the large living rooms and the huge patio table! It is well located, only a few min to the beach and close to lots of great restaurants!

Super place to stay for a family of 12

As an extended family of 12 we very much enjoyed this rental. It was great having our own pools and different spaces for hanging out. Any noise or mess was our own noise and mess. We used the kitchen for most breakfasts and some lunches/snacks. Erika coordinated Sandy and Monika to prepare dinner for us the night we arrived which was handy and yummy although a bit expensive ($400 for 12). The pool and lounging chairs were well used by young and old. A few things to note... the rooftop pool is unheated so a perfect temperature for cooling off but no one lingered for long. There is a large living room and kitchen on the second floor we never used but would have been nice if the weather had turned. The foldout couch in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable so we just put the mattress on the floor which was fine for kids. The location was close to the beach (4 blocks), and there were grocery stores, pharmacies, little markets, a bakery, and a sports bar all within a few blocks. The owners provided some drinking water but after 2 days we had to make the trek to the big store to trade in the empty jugs for new jugs. There is a delivery service but it has to be met in person and we were never there to meet them. It was about a 20 minute walk to the town square as we were at the southern end of town. It was fairly quiet- some road noise from the freeway and music at night from the Todos Los Dios event space which was across the street.

So awesome!

The place was perfect for our group of 15 - plenty of spaces to hang out together but also have room to spread out. The pools were lovely and we so appreciated all the beach umbrellas,chairs and boogie boards. The location was very convenient to the grocery store,the beach, a great sports bar/restaurant (Barchelata). The taxi stand is also right around the corner. We hired Monica to cook a few meals and they were some of the best food we had! Everything was great and we can't wait to come back.

Great Family Propery

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed as a family of 12 adults and 2 toddlers. Plenty of room and everything you can imagine to have a great family vacation. Bucerias has a great family vibe and we hope to come back again soon. Jack, Sylvia, and Erika all went above and beyond to assure we had a great time at their place.

Great Family Time

This is a beautiful property! Two houses with all you could need, a refreshing pool, a beautiful yard, and great outdoor eating/hanging out space. The roof-top pool is great for sunsets. About a mile into downtown Bucerias. 4 stars since we did have maintenance issues, Erika was right on top of them. There were 13 adults and the wi-fi was pretty much non-existent. The listing says the Wi-Fi is good for 6 people but definitely needs stronger Wi-Fi for a property of this size. No hot water in Marilyn for the first three days, they ended up replacing the hot water tank. The BBQ outside the kitchen only ignites halfway, and the roof-top BBQ is completely rotted out. Neither of the safes worked. Erika did give us a key to use one. The air conditioning in the master bedroom was not working. Once the dirty filter was cleaned it worked perfectly. Another AC was leaking water on the floor. The upstairs bathroom for the twin bedroom in Marillyn is very hot with no AC. We would not have used that room if we were a smaller group. My BIL sat in an outdoor wood chair and he fell completely through the rotted chair. Luckily he wasn’t hurt. Cockroaches started coming out from under one of the toilets in Sylvia. We killed at least a dozen (and one centipede). The toilet was not sealed or bolted down. We duct-taped the door closed! The next morning the plumber put in a wax ring and bolted the toilet down and we never saw another cockroach. Maintenance issues aside we would stay again!

Needs some TLC

This property could be amazing but the property management company is letting it get far to run down.BBQ on the roof did not work, main BBQ igniter did not work and internal baffles are all rotting, main oven by pool did not work, kitchen light full of bugs, pool deck while tidy had not been swept in a very long time and weeds growing through the tiles. All of these could be easily fixed, biggest problem was no hot water in the main house, we reached out to the managers on 4 separate occasions but it was never fixed for the entire 10 days we were there. The manager had no idea we were coming and the property was not ready upon arrival, we had to go to a hotel for our first night. This along with other things took away from our vacation time.

Family gathering was fantastic

Property was exactly as illustrated. We were very pleased with all aspects of the property. The house (Kitchen and bedrooms) were well equipped and actually exceeded our expectations. There were chairs and umbrellas for the beach, toys for the pool, lots of room for gathering as a group or even in small groups if you needed some quiet time. Everyone in our party had an excellent time and want to come back again. Erika, the property manager was fantastic and responded immediately (even no her birthday) to any request. Would highly recommend this property.
