Great mountain cabin for a family trip. Clean, cozy, and the perfect spot for taking the kids to the Polar Express train ride. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely come back.

Outstanding location

Property was in the best location to see the mountains and the stars in the night sky. House was the perfect place for me and a few friends to enjoy a relaxing and fun few days.

My stay here with family was wonderful! We very much enjoyed our New Year stay and loved the warmth and feel of the home, with its Christmas Decorations for the holiday season. The home was very comfortable, very clean and had all that we needed for our 4-night stay. Pots, pans, seasonings, games and more! I also will include that the host is great with communication and very responsive. This was our first time visiting the Bryson City area and I would definitely enjoy another trip/stay here!

Great stay!

We had a great time at this cabin & the whole process was smooth. There are plenty of kitchen items to use which helped a lot. This was an awesome place to stay!

Wonderful stay

Our stay at the property was excellent. Nivea the property manager was great at communicating during the check in process. The house was spotless. We enjoyed our stay very much and would book again when we stay in that area again.

Thanksgiving Family Stay for Polar Express

The house was exactly as pictured! Very close to town (10 min drive) and beautifully decorated for Christmas. It was lovely and we had a great time. Nivea was very responsive and check in/out was a breeze. Would stay again!

Amazing hospitality

Property is great, our boys loved the bunk beds and game room in the garage. We were most impressed with how responsive the property owner was and her hospitality.

The home was beautiful and communication was easy. I wish the living room furniture was more comfortable but the Christmas tree was absolutely stunning and the beds were super comfy and I’m very picky about my beds.

Peaceful, Relaxing Home!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bear Necessities! It was clean & comfortable. My 4 young kids loves the bunk and game room. The property is also fun for exploring during a day of rest at the house. It is also close to many day trips to local attractions in the Smoky Mountain area.

Wonderful stay

Our family was in town for the Polar Express which is about a 15 minute drive. Very secluded home in gated community- loved location and the beautiful landscape. Very clean and loved that it was decorated for Christmas! We had a wonderful time!

Great place for a group

Had a group of teens and we really enjoyed this property. Game room was really fun and house is secluded. Plenty of room and the kitchen is well equipped to cook. Not too far from Deep Creek

Autumn Getaway With Lifelong Friends

This house was one of the best ones we have ever rented on VRBO, and we have rented many over the years. We lacked for nothing. Great location, lots to see and do in the area. Nivea was easy to work with and promptly answered questions. You can't go wrong by renting this property!

Great spring trip to the Smokies

This property was just what we needed as two families on a spring break trip for children. This location was about 30 minutes from the NC entrance to the Smoky Mountains. The game room was great for rainy day entertainment. There were just the right amount of space for our party of 10 people total (4 adults and 6 kids). Nivea was great at communication and very helpful. Thanks for a great trip!

Comfortable home, convenient to town with beautiful views

My husband and I were looking for a home that was close to the Polar Express. We’re so glad we chose The Bear Necessities. The beds were comfy, the house was clean and well equipped. Our grandchildren loved the bunk room and we all enjoyed the game room. The yard gave us some privacy and we were close to town. Would definitely stay again :)

Beautiful home

We had a girls weekend and the house was just perfect for hanging out watching tv together or having your own space for privacy. Convenient to casino and not too far to waynesville. Nice kitchen with top of the line equipment. The owner was so nice and easy to access for questions. Overall it was a very nice weekend

Great Secluded Place with game room.

House as advertised! Owner was awesome and helpful. House is modern and clean. Just 4 friends that went and we hung out in the game room every night. Only negatives are the curvy narrow roads and no tvs in the bedrooms.
