My heart is broken that you and your husband were disappointed. I did a walkthrough after the cleaning service, and I didn’t see the stuff you saw. I own the fact that the cabin was dusty. I had just had new flooring installed. I realized that it wasn’t up to standard, and I wanted to make it right. I offered twice to have the cleaning service come in, and I also offered to clean it myself; however, you said no. The last text I got about the wood in the firepit, I realized I could not rectify what happened. I felt my only option was to pay for your stay at a hotel that allows dogs and has continental breakfast, a fridge, and a microwave. I paid for your two nights at the American Inn, and two days at the cabin, and reimbursed the fourth day. I took out the screen door, dusted the cabin from top to bottom, and hand cleaned the dishes and sterilized them in the dishwasher. The patio door locks at the bottom, but I now understand I need to be clear about that with future guests. I fired the previous cleaning company. I am very sorry for your experience, and I have learned from this, and refuse to allow this to happen again.

Dear Barb and Mike Thank you for staying here at my cabin. I am so sorry your stay ended up being so miserable for you! I thought you were happy that I didn’t charge you for breaking off the key in the ignition of the pontoon boat. I thought you were grateful that I didn’t charge you for the 3 additional guests that you brought and failed to mention plus who stayed with you throughout your visit. The dishwasher works really well but it’s a portable dishwasher. In regards to the sink being plugged? It works great and if you plugged it you took care of it...thank you for that! There were no issues when I did the inspection after you checked out. I do COVID cleaning every time a guest leaves so I am not sure what was not clean when you arrived but know that I take this very seriously and will continue to do a white glove inspection before any guest arrives. You mentioned the fence? It’s for decoration only and is never used as an operating fence. Again I am sooo sorry that your stay here was so awful. I suggest you say something to your host if you do this again. We try to do whatever it takes to make your vacation wonderful but can’t fix if we don’t know it’s broken. Bless you and your family.
