For a premium home the master bed was simply unusable. Felt like a throwaway from goodwill. I booked this home for two nights although I only used it for one. It was simply the most convenient overnight. Stay on a road trip for my son and I. The view is stunning. But their elements of the home that feel worn end tired. I was provided incorrect lockbox codes. It required me to spend a half an hour dealing with their folks. Additionally, contrary to the information provided the Wi-Fi password was incorrect. Outdated. It was only by happenstance that we found a piece of paper hidden in drawer that has another Wi-Fi password.

Beautiful location

The views were amazing, house was clean. Private location, no road noise, just waves. Plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 kids. The only downside were the beds, they need an upgrade.

Wedding Weekend

This amazing house allowed for us to have the perfect wedding reception with a small group of family and friends. The outside setting was perfect with breathtaking views and the inside was clean, open and cozy!! Thank you so much for allowing my family to stay here and create unforgettable memories this past weekend!!

A view to die for

Great house and location, large enough for a big family. Beautiful views with beach access. Had a large kitchen with all the supplies you would need. Didn't have Wii fi, that was disappointing. Called support, someone should have come out to the house but did not. Overall great place to stay

Amazing semi private beach

The photos don’t even do this place justice. The sound of the ocean from almost every room. Huge house with everything a large family needs. We had the most amazing weekend all together in this lovely home. Sunset dinners and children running in the surf. The view from the two person jacuzzi tub will take your breath away. We will be back!

Wonderful view

It was a great home for a family vacation. Our only complaint is a huge tree right under the steps, so our grandma could not jump it therefore could not enjoy walking on the beach.

This place has a view that's incredible.

We (10 adults 6 kids) completely enjoyed our stay. The house is wonderful. Family-friendly design with million dollar view of the Pacific. The waves hitting the beach right below, was amazing. Karen was great. We will do it again!

Family Weekend Tradition

We stayed at this location in 2017 and really liked the layout of the house, and the beach access. Winter rates are manageable for middle class families who share the expenses. Though the floors needed sweeping upon arrival, and the large oven did not work, we found the house to be stocked with most everything we needed for a long weekend. However, during this visit in 2018, we found it extremely disappointing that we were not notified in advance that the beach access we had thoroughly enjoyed (and expecting) in 2017, was not available in 2018. We had to DRIVE to the beach. Not convenient with three families and small children. Had we been notified that the stairs had been damaged in a storm, we would have arranged a different vacation rental. With children, we needed direct access to the beach where we could keep tabs on them. We appreciate the large amount of sleeping quarters, the game room, and the different levels. The family room/kitchen connection is very favorable. The house could use a few upgrades, and perhaps a more thorough floor cleaning by staff (we pay a high cleaning fee), but the overall location of the house and its large layout makes it very appealing to large groups.

Could be so great, but

Would you like to see the pearly gates and be trapped outside? Well this house does it perfectly. One of the nicest beaches in brookings and you can't get to it. Don't let your children wander past the flimsy yellow tape on the stairs cause they might fall off a 15ft cliff after walking down the stairs.. I would have still given them a 4 star but the cleaning people wouldn't even offer to give me a call if they happened to find a lost item of mine. Told me I'd have to file a "claim". Super rude about it too. Hire better staff vaycasa.

Great location for touring the Redwoods, but overall lacking

There are many positives about this property. As you can see from the photos, the back of the home is right on the ocean, so the view is great and you have that constant ocean noise, and can enjoy it with the hot tub. However, even in late June, it was too cold to be on the deck, and unfortunately a mudslide had recently eliminated the direct walkway to the beach, which would have been nice. Also, the location really is perfect for seeing many of the Redwood groves nearby, which are spectacular. We found a couple of nice breweries in town. The nearby golf course was very nice and not busy. The kitchen is also well-equipped, and we cooked most of our meals in the home. It's a nice location if you're traveling down the coast - we were on our way from Cannon Beach to San Fran. Although the property advertises that it fits 16 people, that would be very difficult to do so - maybe okay with small children who could easily sleep together on uncomfortable futons/sofabeds. We had 12, and even then we still didn't fit quite right, partly because there are only 4 bedrooms. In addition, we had great difficulty finding sheets and clean comforters/blankets for the futons (and ended up washing comforters before using them as they were not clean, and not using any sheets). In addition, we did not have enough towels for the 12 of us. When I contacted Vacasa, they were less than helpful. Future renters should also be aware that the quality of the linens, and especially the pillows, is poor. In addition, no hair dryers were available in any of the bathrooms. At this price point, we would have expected more. The home is also very noisy (e.g., if you are trying to sleep in the basement bedroom, you can hear much/most of the noise from the floor above.) In addition, the layout of the home does not accommodate a common area for a large family (we had to split off between the various rooms when spending time together). Having said all that, we did enjoy our stay in Brookings. This home is for sale so may not be available for rent too much longer!

Beautiful location; lots of maintenance issues and lacked in customer care

The location could not be more beautiful, but access to the beach was washed out just prior to our arrival, which is why we choose this home over others in the area, so a real disappointment. Upon arriving we were meet with 1 key, because the lock broke, and for 3 families for 5 nights arranging activities around 1 key was frustrating, when on vacation you don't want to have to work around broken things. A small amount of amenities were provided (dish washing soap, toilet paper, kleenex) when asked we were told to go to a local store and no laundry soap was provided but we were asked to start laundry upon leaving. If customer care would have been better I would rate higher, but the lack of customer service left us very disappointed.
