Cost was definitely on the higher side for that cabin. There was a very strong rat urine in all of the cabinets, leaving us to wash pots and pans multiple times before we used them. There was a sewage smell every morning coming from the master bathroom. Fire pit was never cleaned out and the hot tub smelted like fish. However, maintenance came and cleaned out the hot tub immediately.Cute cabin and definitely as you can see in the advertisement pictures, it at one time was a VERY nice place to stay. Just needs a little more TLC. But all in all great memories were made and we would still recommend

House was super cozy. Kitchen had everything you could need to cook. The only thing needed was an awni g or roof over hot tub. It rained all weekend and a roof to stop the rain would have been a welcome addition.

We stayed here for a long weekend. Upon arrival, we discovered that the outlets in the master bedroom were not working, only 2 were, and there was an extension cord running across the room to the window AC unit, as well as the bedroom behind the kitchen had a previous water leak that was causing the popcorn ceiling to fall off. I messaged the property manager who advised they were working on the ceiling issue and that it likely was a tripped breaker, it was not. The next day a worker showed up unannounced to double check the breaker and brought another extension cord. We also noticed in the master bathroom the floor air vent was not secured down at all and there was mold in the shower along the bottom and grout. The hot tub was green and smelled fishy, so we did not get to enjoy it. Upon check out, we stripped the beds as instructed and discovered the master mattress was covered in old, dried urine, with no mattress cover on the bed. We reached out to VRBO for assistance regarding everything and to make them aware, there were a few exchanges between the manager, VRBO and myself but no resolution and the house is still available for renting. While we did stay as we had a large group of 10 people and were unable to find another house in such a short time, I am looking to have this property shut down until all repairs are completed so that no other families are exposed to these conditions.

Perfect weather to enjoy outdoors. But furniture under covered patio was not clean. We had to clean ourself to be seat. Disappointed for that. Rest is all good.

Very disappointing

The only thing that was good about this place is location, the outdoor furniture had old stained cushions , old furniture outside , outside was not maintained, the inside was not cleaned well , spider webs , bugs behind doors , dust , tv trays hadn’t been cleaned in months , no wash rags , towels was old and stained , inside cabinets was old and stained , ac was dirty we wondered why our allergies was acting up , then we looked in ac and seen why , it hadn’t been serviced since 07/22 , refrigerator wasn’t working , took them awhile to respond to that , they sent someone over , he was like yeah it’s froze up , so he brought us a old fridge to put on back porch to use , it was nasty inside with dead bugs and mildew , then wanted us to take our stuff out of inside fridge and put it in the dirty outside fridge , so he could unplug the fridge Inside , so it could thaw , I told him , I would not take my stuff out and put outside , In that nasty refrigerator, and it wasn’t our place to clean it up . The beds was uncomfortable, we stripped the beds the last day we left , to help the cleaning lady , and the bed had stains , all of the beds made noises everytime you moved . Other than where it was located , we was very disappointed, especially with what we paid for each night , and the cleaning fees and host fee , taxes etc . Will not be back .

I wouldn't choose this place again!

The place was not clean, floor was dirty, on the front porch it had loose and open rails and it smelled like mildew. The beds were comfortable but when we stripped the beds noticed a large stain on the mattress pad. The bunkbeds were wobbly. The hot tub was dirty. The outside play area needed attention and upkeep before our grandchildren could even play on it. I feel like I overpaid for what was given. It is located in a convenient area.

Great time

The only real problem was trying to reach the property management team. WiFi didnt work and finally received a call back on our final night. Multiple calls to office with no answer...finally i got rude on message and received a callback 4 hours later. Curtains on window's would be nice and some window screens so you can open the windows. Just minor issues and we didnt let it ruin our vacation

Fun little family trip

It was a fun adventure and we enjoyed our family time. Plenty of space inside. It was not as secluded as we thought it would be but still was a good location. The grill is n old campsite grill and not a grill on the patio area but still useable and you need charcoal. It worked just fine for what we needed. Would definitely visit again and will be in the future! Hot tub was a huge hit for us and we definitely enjoyed it. Master bathroom is amazing ! No complaints!

Relaxation at it's finest

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hiked, relaxed, enjoyed time in the hot tub and around the campfire. We loved our time spent here. The only downfall was that we had planned on using the grill and according to the listing photos there was supposed to be a gas grill but was a charcoal grill. We just decided to try our luck with restaurants instead.

Would not recommend

I absolutely hate to leave a dissatisfied review and actually not the type of person to leave reviews. I really did want to like this place. But in all honesty if I saw the property before hand in person I wouldn’t have booked. My hope is that this review would be considered for some much needed updates and changes to how the cleaning is done so other families can enjoy this beautiful location. The house needs some updates FOR SURE… but I can deal with staying in a place that needs renovations as long as the place it self is well maintained and clean. However this property was not clean. The vents in this house were caked on with dust and filth. My husbands allergies were going crazy in the house, he had already taken allergy medication prior to arriving but needed to take Benadryl the whole time we were there. Most of the blinds in the house can not be shut.. The floors were sticky and dirty .. bare feet turned black.. white socks turned black… upon arrival I found a dirty coffee mug in the Cupboards as if never washed, the table was set with chipped dishes..one room has an outlet just sticking out of the wall, the sheets and towels smelled .. and it was not a clean smell. The grill out back was not clean.. the back door of the property really needs to just be replaced there is a giant opening at the bottom in which all kinds of creep crawlies could come in. I’m a neat freak as were most of my family. So no one felt like relaxed or at ease. We didn’t take advantage of what could have been a great seating area outside as the furniture just seemed dirty. I get that it’s outside furniture but as a rental property I feel like it still should be maintained. Before checking out I was looking for more paper towels to clean up. Found them under the sink completely drenched from a leak from the faucet. Called the number listed to let them know, no one picked up. My family made the most of the experience but we would not rebook here.

Great location

Property is centrally located and easy to find. It was large enough for my husband and I with our 2 children and their kids. The swing set out front was great. The house could use some TLC. The back door needs replacing. But overall it was a great experience.

Pay for what you get

The setting of the house is beautiful. Both porches are wonderful including the hot tub after we figured out how to turn on all jets. Having 4 bedrooms was very helpful for our group. In general the entire place needs a little TLC. There are multiple areas where flooring is missing, the dryer took 3 cycles to dry, and both bathrooms need some simple updates. Everyone loved the mattresses in all bedrooms. The owners were very quick to respons to our needs. Overall 3 out if 5.

Loved our stay!

This property was really great! The main room was huge, and our 2 families with 2 toddlers each were incredibly comfortable. There was a nice playscape on site in the front yard, but the location is tucked away so there was virtually no traffic and our kids were safe. Short drive ~10 min to the main area in Hochatown and lake access. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend!
