The advert for the property did not completely describe it. Where the advert stated that it was ‘not a level entry’, it understated that meant it was a basement apartment down an uneven, narrow set of stone steps that were very difficult to navigate with luggage. One of the two bathrooms was almost unusable (toilet seat hanging off and the shower drain completely stopped up) and the second bath shower was set in a very deep tub making access difficult. The floors of the apartment were stone and quite dirty. Most of the waste bins had not been emptied, including bathroom waste bins (we’ll leave that to your imagination). I messaged the host the evening we checked in for a three night stay and none of this was addressed before we checked out. Apparently, the host did not share the urgency of addressing these issues that we felt. Not wanting to leave without pointing out some positives, the property is in a great location, both within Bristol and in the UK (easy access to Bath, Salisbury, Cardiff, etc.). Many nice bars, pubs, restaurants and bakeries easily walkable makes it enjoyable and entertaining, if the host takes a little more care of the actual property.
