We enjoyed our stay in this quaint cottage with the smell of wisteria from the front porch, the scenic lake view, and the sounds of birds and church bells in the morning. You can tell the home has been lovingly maintained by Lilia and her family for many years. We found it to be an ideal launching point to explore the surrounding areas while having a peaceful calm village to return to in the evening away from the hustle and crowds. The stairs are no joke and took some getting used to for us flatlanders; we would definitely not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. Lilia was very attentive, kind, and an absolute joy to communicate with! For those who are interested- I Giardini di Villa Melzi botanical garden in Bellagio was one of the most beautiful gardens we have ever visited. We highly recommend a visit for garden lovers in the Spring.

We absolutely LOVED this cottage on the lake. The view is incredible and the location can't be beat. You definitely need a car to get around - but there's many good restaurants, bars, hikes etc within close driving distance. Great relaxing getaway, we will be back!

What a beautiful property for out romantic getaway. Absolutely loved sitting in the yard reading my book while listening to the church bells. Our host was wonderful in communicating restaurant ideas and other needs. Be mindful of the 88 stairs to the property however we loved getting the exercise after a big Italian meal!

Absolutely blown away by the view- such an incredible villa. The hosts are wonderful- excellent communication, perfect instructions and an easy process from start to finish. Would go back in a heartbeat- highly recommend!As mentioned in the listing, there are significant stairs up to the villa- worth it, but be mindful if that will be an issue for you.

PERFECTION!!! The views of Lake Como do not get better than this! The stairs up are NO JOKE but so worth it! I can’t stop raving to all my friends about the “fairytale land” we stepped into when we arrived at the cottage; I could have stayed a month!

Beautiful spot

After bringing luggage up 88 steps, you will be greeted by an amazing view of the lake, the town across from the lake, and the church tower in Brienno. It is a very safe space. We rented a car and never had a problem finding a space to park. More than anything, the information from the host was PERFECT! She is very thorough with instructions and directions. As an FYI, there will likely be salt, pepper, oil, coffee, sugar and tea in the unit. We bought some bread and butter and eggs from Aldi in Como. We also ate at the pizza place in Brienno. Delicious!

Our stay was lovely! Hosts were great and extremely responsive and helpful. The views were awesome. If you're accustomed to driving on tiny roads, having a rental car would be perfect as groceries and food options are generally in other towns. There are a few hiking trails in Brienno that take you through the old part of the town with deteriorating buildings which was very cool to see. Great place to stay!

Tranquil cottage with amazing views.

What a little gem my husband and I stumbled across. A delightful cottage, elevated with the most amazing views of the lake from kitchen, seating area, bedroom and even bathroom.Numerous seating areas outside, bedroom balcony, patio outside front of cottage, and a decent sized garden on lower level.A quiet location, which was great for us to get away from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing at the end of the day. A couple of good places to eat. Amble parking places for the car in the town. Hosts amazing, giving so much information, and setting up a WhatsApp once we arrived, in case we needed anything.Would recommend 100% to anyone wanting a quiet area with the most amazing views.

Impressive, beautiful and so relaxing!

Chalet Lilia was far greater than advertised! The perfect ending to our trip to ITALY. BREATHTAKING views! Very quiet and relaxing. The property is more beautiful and picturesque than the very detailed pictures provided on the website. Clean, and every detail was taken care of, or provided by Lilia and Carmen. They also had the very best suggestions for meals and other highlights around Lake Como region. Heaven on earth. Thank you! We WILL be back!!

Incredible in every way!

Host provides perfectly detailed instructions to get to the house. Without them it would be pretty tricky to find but well worth the steps! The house is supplied with everything travelers need in Como. The house is perfect for able bodied and couples visiting Como.

What a View!!!

In a vacation destination like Lake Como where it’s one amazing view after another, there is no more amazing view than the one directly from this beautiful chalet. Lilia was super responsive and very thorough, making it easy to find. I fully recommend this amazing property for your Lake Como visit.

Magical views

Although the steps up to the house are no joke, once you get up and see the views(day, night, it doesn’t matter, they’re all fantastic) you’d climb it all over again. We were greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and a pristine and lovely house that had everything we could need. Don’t miss the pizza down the street as it was also delicious. Our host, Lilia, was extremely responsive and friendly. She really wanted to make sure we had a lovely time. Brienno is very tiny, but close to many other places to visit in your time there. Or, just stay in and spend your entire time in the garden or on the balcony!

Incredible view in a historic, peaceful location.

The host was incredibly friendly and communicative. Directions to the rental were very detailed. Restaurant recommendations and information about the area were handy. If you want an authentic Lake Como experience in a quiet area, this is the place for you. Our favorite place was the balcony, sipping on local Prosecco. Yes, there are steep steps to the villa and you need to be fit to navigate them. We appreciated the exercise to work off the extra calories! We are in our 70’s and managed them well. Would stay there again in a heartbeat because the villa made our stay memorable.

Incredible stone cottage with the best view!

We had such an amazing stay, absolutely loved having a balcony AND a terrace with perfect views of Lake Como and the charming tiny town of Brienno. There truly is no comparison with Brienno, it’s much sleepier than the busier touristy towns on the fabulous lake, yet has a lot of conveniences, like the morning food truck selling insanely cheap and delicious homemade bread, local cheeses and charcuterie! The best pizza we had in Italy was nearly next door and the fancier restaurant had incredible pasta. We loved the beach bar where we could get a perfect Cappuccino, soda, drink or snack and swim in the lake! The cottage itself has everything we required and was a perfect home base. We had steeled ourselves for the many stairs but truly they were not that bad! We had a bit of struggle with the trash (5 bins but only 2 with bags and a bit confusing for us) but the host was super quick and responsive and helped us get it right. Highly recommend this place.

Dreamy Chalet

We could not have been happier with the stay. It is true there are 88 stairs to get to the chalet but a small price to pay for the unbelievable view from the porch and balcony. You see the lake and church in one view. The village is dreamy and the chalet even dreamier. You will not be disappointed booking
