4/10 Mediocre

We are giving two stars strictly for the location: it is a safe neighborhood and the home has a large amount of space. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end.The home does not match the listing photos at all. The furniture is completely different, worn, and poorly maintained. The couch was broken, cabinet doors were hanging off, and the home was very dirty upon arrival. The kitchen was inadequately stocked and poorly kept, making it difficult to cook meals during our stay.More concerning were the serious safety issues. There was an exposed heater coil that our children cut/burned themselves on. Exposed tack strips. We also found prescription medication and a vape pen left out, which is completely unacceptable in a rental—especially one marketed to families. The garage door opener fell onto our car and scraped down the side of it. The host refused insurance information and asked us to trust his word to fix it. Will update on that. Large portions of the home were unusable. Multiple heaters, lights, outlets, TVs, and door handles/locks did not work or were missing. The wood floors are coming up in several areas, and we were constantly stubbing our feet on raised boards. This house may work for a frat-style stay where condition and safety are not priorities, but if you are looking for a clean, functional, “home away from home,” this is not it. Most importantly, the listing photos are extremely misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the property.
