Great Rental!

Overall, we loved Rubywood and the views were spectacular. There were a few things that I would like to share, to give people the best idea of what they are getting themselves into. First of all, the shuttle stop location is a long and hard walk uphill and we did not consider walking this with ski gear, especially on a snow-covered driveway. You could easily ski back to the cabin, however. There is a small room/office that is no longer shown in the pictures that used to have bunk beds, but it's now a sofa/pull-out-bed. The lights in the entire cabin can be very frustrating. I'd take some time to get to learn these switches / buttons before trying to figure out how to turn on a light in total darkness. The layout of the house is slightly odd and I never could get it through my head that the living room/kitchen is NOT on the same floor of the garage/front door. The living room/kitchen/movie room is actually considered the bottom floor. The 3 bedrooms are on the 2nd floor, along with the garage and front door. The loft with cut out beds with curtains is considered the 3rd floor. Also, this house sits at nearly 10,500ft elevation, and my elderly parents struggled with this - especially having to use the stairs so much (we're from Baton Rouge, LA. which I'm sure that didn't help the situation lol). We had an AWD Suburban and had no issues getting in and out of the sloped and snow-covered driveway. I could see how some people might feel weary of driving this.

Spectacular Place

Overall, my family had a great stay! The views were spectacular, very cozy after a day of skiing, private and perfect for my family of four. I would definitely stay again!

Gorgeous Home

This house is spectacular. The view is amazing and furnishings are top notch. The waterfall was so peaceful and the hot tub was relaxing. The furnishings in the kitchen were great. Loved the movie room. The only frustrating thing was the complication of the light switches and master bedroom was a little small with no place to put clothes

Birthday Stay

House is nice and big. The view is magical as everyone has said in their reviews. I would suggest the guest bedrooms get mattress pillow toppings to make it more comfortable for sleeping. House was clean. Love the Native American artifacts displayed. There is no laundry detergent, so make sure you bring your own. Plenty of cooking utensils as we cooked three nights there. Yes those who read reviews there is a beautiful new refrigerator now. For mastered if you don’t like morning sun light or lamps shining through the windows, make sure you bring your eye mask. Master bed was comfortable. We always bring our own pillows and blankets though. Even though we kept the heat at 66. We all still got hot during the night. It must be the heated at Floors. For snowy season, make sure you have a 4 x 4 vehicle as my niece got stuck on way out, and we had to call a tow truck. Stay was nice. I can only imagine how beautiful it is during the summer. Would love to return during that time. Hot tub was a nice plus. Grill for your grilling folks it pretty nice one. Having a grill is one of the most important reasons, we choose a place to stay as we had 2 amazing chefs with us. Lights are a bit tricky. You have to figure them out. Other than that way better than a hotel. Specially if you want to hang out with your family and friends, cook and enjoy a beautiful fire and views. Thank you to the owners of this beautiful home for letting us enjoy.

Fabulous Mountain Views

Ski weekend

Absolutely beautiful property. The views were completely down played. It was amazing to wake up in the mornings and see the ski mountain. Every night a fox would come up the kitchen windows and just watch me and my friends hang out. Amazing time. Would book again

Family fun in the mountains

Waking up to the beautiful views Rubywood offers was such a bonus! Our family of 9 had plenty of room. Great kitchen area to enjoy family meals after a day of skiing. Garage and covered entry a plus on the snowy days.

Prettier than any picture.

This property is so beautiful. The views are spectacular. I got up every morning in time for the sunrise and sat outside to watch the sunset too. It is quiet. (even with a new house being built next door). It has everything you might need. The management was quick to get back to me with any questions. Love, love, love. I'll be back next year.

Our stay at Rubywood was amazing! The view was outstanding and house was gorgeous! Short trek down the mountain to Brekenridge.. definitely want 4x4. House had everything you could possibly need. We had the privilege of some gorgeous visitors… mule deer and a fox that kept coming back to hang out with us! Definitely would visit Rubywood again♥️

Outstanding ski vacation staying in a beautiful custom home

Rubywood was an amazing place to have a gathering with friends. Very comfortable and homey! It is set in an absolutely beautiful setting on a ridge above the town with all the amenities. Would definitely stay again! It is about a 10 minute drive from the main part of town. It's beneficial to have a 4WD vehicle in the winter when there is snow.

The Great Moose Hunt of 2022

We had a great time at the Woodmoor. The house is fantastic! Check in and out was a breeze. Going into town through the snow with our 4-wheel truck was no problem. We went onto the great moose hunt of 2022 with our snowshoes, only to see the moose visiting us on his stroll around the house. It was great! The views are magnificent from the main floor and the master shower. We loved the floor heating and the cinema. We had some great dinners made in the fantastic kitchen. Just don't forget to bring your own spices, coffee, sugar, and tea. Hot tub towels are provided. We highly recommend this property!

Make sure everything is working before you go

The house as a whole is very nice. The floors are all stone and heated everywhere. There are some strange design issues. When you walk in the front door or in from the garage, you go into the bedrooms. To get to the kitchen and all the living spaces you have to go down a large flight of stairs, not optimal for older people, The stairs are wood and very slippery. My 83 year old dad fell going down. Once in the living space it is very large and nice with lots of seating. We had two issues while at the property; 1. the fridge was not working, so the management copy put dry ice in the fridge, but that took up quite a bit of space and lasted about day and a half. They did send a service technician on the Friday after Thanksgiving. He was there about an hour and couldn't fix the problem. He did say that this would be an issue until they fix it, he added the parts are back ordered. 2nd issue was with the TV room, The controls didn't work and the owners did not leave a key for the controls, so we had to watch Thanksgiving football games on a 32" TV. This sucked for those wanting to watch the games. They sent someone over but they could not fix the problem either, so we had to do without. Not bad for spending time with family but nice to escape and certainly when you are paying the nightly rate they listed. I guess I just expect things to be in working order. I addressed this and the management company offered me a $150 gift card for the inconvenience but only after my 4th request. The $150 doesn't seem adequate for a fridge and major part of the entertainment not working. I would say....the house is nice if things are working. I would say while responsive the management company came up short. You will have good correspondence from them, but don't expect any consideration for paying full price for a house where things aren't working. The house can accommodate a lot of people. There is a small room with bunk beds not mentioned in the description. There are 2 murphy beds in the non working TV room, 1 main master bedroom (with a steam shower) and then 2 other bedrooms. There is a loft with 2 bunks but no bathroom near them. Also in the main part of the house there is just one bathroom, other wise you have to go up to one of the bedrooms. Views are incredible, fire place impressive.

Fabulous house for a large family.

Overall we had a fabulous week. Couple of negatives. One dishwasher didn’t work and one oven didn’t work. The yard was completely overgrown when we arrived. The most annoying thing was the heat came on at night making it very difficult to sleep. We came to Breck for the cool weather. We asked repeatedly to have it turned off but we’re told the owners control it. The entire home just needs some TLC. the kitchen was well stocked but everything is older and worn Positives. Lots of room for a large family. The views are beautiful. And over all very wonderful place to stay.

Not worth it

Home is not located in a good location. They are starting to build a house next door and construction noise is bothersome. Construction workers block the driveway to the house. The construction is just getting started so renters are going to deal with it for awhile. Kitchen has very dull knives and a hodge podge of really cheap cookware and utensils. The owner of the house decided to lock off the master closet and drawer space is extremely limited. House just isn’t comfortable and needs a lot of TLC. Property management has instruction sighs everywhere which makes me think the house has a lot of issues. Will never rent or recommend this house to anyone. We rented it for 2 weeks and left after 5 days it was so bad.
