Hi Nick. Thank you so much for taking the time to review we are so happy your stay was “perfect” ( : I wanted to address the mattress comment . The queen size mattress is a high end Simmons World Class Beauty Rest mattress with an upgraded euro top plush . It is exclusive to our vrbo guests and is a newer mattress . We recently put a high quality topper on it also. I believe everyone has a certain type they prefer be it on the firmer side or the softer side. We chose one that is “ middle of the road” in firmness/softness and we have had quite a few of our guests comment on its comfort. We do try and do the best we can to make our guest stay memorable and we look forward to welcoming you again when your travels bring you to the “ high country” !

( : I would like to address your concerns: 1. Smoke Alarm We apologize for the inconvenience. Our cleaning lady informed us it was not beeping earlier in the day. When you alerted me of this issue at check in I immediately offered to change the battery but you asked that the battery be put on the washing machine as you were going to do laundry and wanted to change it yourself.. 2. There are NO children living in the home. We were in the home doing some property maintenance and there was a visitor for about a half hour that you heard. Again we apologize for the inconvenience. 3. The laundry. We welcome guests to use the fully equipped laundry facilities any time they wish day or night. We do not have to be there to "let them in" and more often than not we are in our home in Alaska and not there. We give our guests the lockbox code to the main house and they easily access the laundry facilities . We supply laundry soap as well as spot remover. The high end machines are Maytag Neptune. 4. We appreciate the feedback on the mattress, it was surprising as it is actually a "newer" mattress so this was concerning. However we take constructive criticism of any sort seriously and we have a new mattress on order which will arrive soon. We have enjoyed welcoming guests for 14 years, and it continues to be our pleasure to share our beautiful luxury apt in Summit County "Colorados playground" with visitors from across the world! We strive to improve our accommodations on every level so again we welcome and appreciate your feedback!

We checked and the bed is a queen size mattress and not a double. Although a king would be nice to have there is only space for a queen size bed in the bedroom and it fills the space nicely. 😊. Hello Nerick Thank you so much for your kind words , and taking the time to write . We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back ! I believe there was some confusion as to operating the new Amish heater. We have used this particular product in the rental for 13 years and have not ever heard of any issues with it. It actually heats the entire apt nicely and keeps it warm and cozy all winter. There is a thermostat in the back of it that is needs to be set to the comfort level of each guest . Possibly you did not realize this and the thermostat was not turned up. It keeps the whole apt nice and warm and can be left on day and night if needed. Very few homes have AC in summit country because of the elevation. We have a screens on the windows which can be opened for ventilation and a nice breeze in the summer. I apologize if it was not clear at check in that there was a thermostat to regulate the heat . I wish you had let me know you were having trouble operating the heater during your stay and I could have helped. We do have another electric fireplace on order as after some years we needed to replace the previous one, so our guests wil be able to enjoy an electric fireplace again soon!😊. Kindest Regards, Susan
