I was only there one night and found room spotless and staff helpful. My only disappointment was my room looked on to the back door car park but as I was only staying overnight it did not affect my stay. Overall very comfortable.

Staff welcoming. Room and beds clean. Lovely shower. Just a little suggestion that reception at the beginning recommend guests speak to owners when bringing bikes outside during the evening. Owner understandably concerned but a little abrupt.

The room was clean enough but it is an Old Building . The meals were great and very enjjoyble. but the staff were absolutely SUPERB. It is a family owned and run Hotel and you could not wish for better attention or Help.No it is not 5 star but the Staff make up for the Minor faults. thank you all for a Very Pleasant stay. Haakon.

Whole hotel is very dated and run down so not value for price paid . Massive stains on the carpet. Bathroom radiator not attached to the wall. Breakfast too pricey. Only positive is the shower was clean and powerful.

If you have to go to Brechin stay here

The hotel is looking very tidy and looks to have recently been redecorated. We had a warm friendly welcome from the family. My room was clean and well appointed, with a nice hot shower. Big shout out to the chef as our evening meal and breakfast were delicious. Would definitely stay here again!

A disappointing stay at the Northern Hotel. Room 111 had a strange smell when we opened the door. There was only a small window so the room was very dark. Bed was awful as you could feel the springs of the mattress and the pillow (only one each) was very flat so we didn’t have a good sleep. There were cobwebs on the walls and wallpaper was coming off the wall near the window. Toilet seat was loose. On the plus side the staff were pleasant and the evening meal was good. Maybe we were just unlucky and other rooms were okay.

This is a great place and I have stayed here before. The reason for not giving it 5 stars across the board is the mattress in my room was old and bumpy. If the bed would have been more comfortable I would have given 5 stars on every level.
