Once an island tool shed, The Stabbin Cabin now displays many of the original tools that helped build projects around Grant Island. The tools are securely attached to the walls, giving this cozy cabin a story and character all its own.



Designed for two guests, The Stabbin Cabin combines a comfortable double bed, thoughtful modern comforts and a private outdoor setup with the rare experience of staying on a boat-in Adirondack island.

• The shared bathroom building is approximately 4 feet away and is essentially back-to-back with the cabin.

• Other guests and management may be elsewhere on Grant Island, and certain island amenities are shared.

• The two electric boats assigned to the Stabbin Cabins are shared with Stabbin Cabin #2.



The Stabbin Cabin and its designated private amenities remain reserved for your stay.

After the required orientation, approved operators may use the boats for transportation between Grant Island and the mainland parking area, fishing and leisurely exploration of Brantingham Lake.



Exclusive use of either electric boat is not guaranteed because both boats are shared between the two Stabbin Cabins.



Canoe and pedal boat access are also included at no additional cost. These may be shared with other small-accommodation guests and remain subject to weather, maintenance, safety and availability.



Management remains available to provide pontoon transportation when you prefer not to operate an electric boat.

You park at our designated mainland parking area, where we meet you and help with your belongings.



We bring you to Grant Island by pontoon boat, a ride that generally takes about 5 minutes.



After arrival, we show you the cabin, explain the nearby bathroom and shared island areas, and provide the required electric-boat orientation.



We remain available during your stay for questions, transportation assistance or anything requiring attention.

DOG-FRIENDLY STAY:



The standard policy allows one approved dog weighing up to 20 pounds. Add your dog to the reservation so the current pet fee is reflected.

There is no toilet or shower inside the cabin. The shared bathroom building is approximately 4 feet away and is essentially back-to-back with the cabin. It has a toilet-and-sink room and a separate shower room, each with its own entrance.



Stabbin Cabin #1 and Stabbin Cabin #2 share one 6-seat electric boat and one rowboat with an electric motor and oars. Exclusive use is not guaranteed.



Other guests may be staying elsewhere on Grant Island. A separate management residence is approximately 30 feet away and faces the opposite direction.

The Neighborhood:

Grant Island is a privately owned 1.4-acre island on public Brantingham Lake in the Adirondacks.



The Stabbin Cabin combines original island character with access to boating, fishing, swimming, wildlife, sunsets and stargazing.



Brantingham Lake is public, so residents and recreational boaters may also be on the water.



Two popular restaurants and bars, a local general store and seasonal recreation are available on the nearby mainland. The surrounding Adirondack and Tug Hill region offers hiking, state parks, horseback riding, wineries and other outdoor activities.



Because Grant Island is accessed by boat, bring the food, clothing, medication and personal supplies you expect to need during your stay.



Getting Around:

Guests park at our designated mainland parking area. We meet you there, help with your belongings and bring you to Grant Island by pontoon boat. The ride generally takes about 5 minutes.



After arrival, approved operators receive an orientation for the two electric boats shared by Stabbin Cabin #1 and Stabbin Cabin #2:



• One 6-seat electric boat

• One rowboat with an electric motor and oars



Every operator must be at least 18.



The boats may be used for:



• Transportation between Grant Island and the mainland

• Fishing

• Leisurely exploration of Brantingham Lake



Because both boats are shared between the two Stabbin Cabins, exclusive use of either boat is not guaranteed.



After-dark boat operation is allowed only when required navigation lights are working and proper flotation devices are worn. Guests must bring a working flashlight and must remain visible to other potential nighttime boaters.



Boat use is subject to weather, charging, maintenance, safe lake conditions and equipment availability.



If you prefer not to operate an electric boat, management remains available to provide pontoon transportation between the island and mainland.



One mainland parking space is included. All guest vehicles remain on the mainland.
