Amazing country side feel, cosy, clean & value for money. The Briars Inn restaurant within the property premises is fantastic…..not to be missed, quite a happening place. Will be back soon !!

Our reservation was mixed up & handed over to another customer but we stepped in to check-in in time & within few minutes our keys was handed over! Humanly error for sure which was sorted immediately but otherwise we loved our stay at Briars country lodge .

Stayed in the executive suite, $710 for two nights. As soon as you opened the front door you were hit with a really bad moldy smell. Tried to open the windows but they all had been painted shut so unable to open them. I went to reception and was told no maintenance people were available, so it was like it or lump it as all the other rooms were booked. The exhaust fan in the toilet worked when it felt like it. The one in the main bathroom did very little to take any steam out and you could not open the windows in either bathroom. The internet was very good and easy to connect to. It is next to Briars Country Inn, and this was a fabulous place to eat, great food but noisy unless you sat in one of the smaller rooms behind the bar.

Good Morning Les,Thank you for your review and we will investigate your concerns.Unfortunately after 3.30pm on a Saturday there were no maintenance staff on site, though when housekeeping staff did come on Sunday to investigate there was a DO NOT DISTURB sign placed on the door indicating that the guest did not want to be disturbed by Housekeeping and no answer to their knock.The guest if unsatisfied upon check in always has the right to check out and find alternative accommodation if they find fault with their accommodation, as apparently you returned to reception 30-40 minutes after check in mentioning the issues in your review. But by choosing to stay the night and not find alternative accommodation and then once again if still unsatisfactory choosing to not check out by 10.30 am the next day and putting the DO NOT DISTURB sign out indicating to staff that you did not want any disturbance to your room indicates that the issues raised were not that great an inconvenience if you did not want staff to enter.Kind regardsJo-Anne

Very relaxing environment
Very professional and friendly staff. The room had a lovely outlook, was very quiet and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was clean (shower over bath) and the breakfasts were very good. Would recommend and stay again

Briars continues to be a prime venue in the Bowral/Moss Vale area. We are regular guests now as it is always good to go to a place you know, without surprises. The outlook across the pond and grassed areas is spectacular.

Would expect more for the money
Have previously stayed here but now looking a bit tired. For the price paid would expect better insulation between rooms and reception desk hours. Were disturbed by noisy neighbours until 4am 😩

Dated room but lovely location. 28$ per adult BF is too much especially only very limited choices for "English breakfast ". Staff at the conservatory on the day was not helpful trying to charge my 5 yr old full BF fee...Don't think we'll come back second time. Will go to Goulburn

I was very disappointed with the restaurant. It has been many years since I was at Briars because of illness so goi g back to not having table service and without the old atmosphere was very upsetting!!! It has a cafeteria atmosphere. Awful. Motel rooms are in need of a lift. I slept under a very stained doona!! It is such a beautiful property and I appreciate things change but wish Briars had stayed as it was. J Carter.

I booked this hotel on a busy weekend at the last minute, and the grounds were beautiful, the restaurant / bar was great and the room was a decent size. But the room was at least 20 years old and I don't think represented great value for money, especially considering for the same price you could get a 5-star room in the Sydney CBD.

The location was very nice. Grassed areas were very attractive and there was alot of wildlife. Access to bush walking tracks was very good.

Lovely property - great layout which worked perfectly for family of 5 (interconnecting rooms). Staff are super helpful and we appreciated the beds were all set-up for the kids room when we arrived (incl sofabed). Restaurant & pub are great and it's very convenient to have it all on-site.

Good Morning Sandra,We note that you checked into the motel early at 1.40pm and check in is after 2.00 pm. You advised us that you checked out at 9.00 pm advising us the next day of illness of one your group and expected a refund after having used the room for over 7 hours.We have to completely clean and sanitize the room, launder all linen and could not re sell the room at that time of evening.This guest is being unreasonable in wanting a refund and has given us a poor rating based on these circumstances only.We hope that they enjoy their next break wherever it may be, without incidence.Briars Country Lodge Team

Lovely property
The property is lovely and very beautiful to wake in the morning and look out over the lawn down to the lake. Our stay was very enjoyable. Very peaceful. Only one comment relating to the little area outside our room with chairs and table. It looked as though it had not been cleaned or dusted for a long time, lots of cobwebs and dust. Easy to remedy! Would definitely recommend.

The lodge was close to Bowral shops and in a nice spot that had nearby walking tracks. The pond in the property was peaceful and pretty. Briars Inn nearby had good food and atmosphere. Overall happy with our stay.

It was a clean above average room. I’d give it 3 stars out of five. Good stay, but nothing spectacular. Instant Nescafé instead of coffee pod sort of place. Bit overpriced for what it is.
