Secluded paradise

Can Lloquette is a wonderful and secluded little paradise! L’Atelier had everything we wanted and Simon is a perfect host. He made us feel very welcome, like old friends, and yet we had all privacy. The location is beautiful and the buildings and garden radiate love and real attention. We hiked in the Pyrenees, walked to the small bakery in Montferrer to get fresh croissants and chilled out at the pool. And after a hot day at the beach it was great to return to the cool mountain again. Highly recommend!

Ein erholsamer Aufenthalt in traumhafter Abgeschiedenheit

Wir hatten das Vergnügen, einige Tage in diesem wundervollen Ort zu verbringen, und kann nur Gutes berichten. Simon, der Gastgeber, hat uns von Anfang an herzlich empfangen. Seine Gastfreundschaft war wirklich außergewöhnlich, und man fühlte sich sofort willkommen – fast so, als wäre man ein langjähriger Freund des Hauses. Die Lage der Unterkunft ist ein echtes Highlight. Eingebettet in eine malerische Landschaft, umgeben von Natur pur, war es der perfekte Ort, um zur Ruhe zu kommen und den Alltag hinter sich zu lassen. Allerdings sollte man sich bewusst sein, dass es wirklich recht abgelegen ist. Für uns war das ideal, da wir genau nach dieser Abgeschiedenheit gesucht haben. Wer allerdings schnelle Erreichbarkeit von Geschäften und Restaurants bevorzugt, könnte sich hier etwas isoliert fühlen. Alles in allem war es ein wunderbar erholsamer Aufenthalt, den ich jedem empfehlen kann, der Entspannung und herzliche Gastfreundschaft sucht. Ein großes Dankeschön an Simon für diese schöne Zeit!

Un endroit très loin de toute civilisation

La piscine et le jardin sont très agréables. La maison était propre à l’arrivée, les draps fournis et c’était très sympa d’avoir des œufs frais de temps en temps. Cependant, il est important de savoir que le gite est très isolé au fond d’une vallée ce qui oblige à faire au moins une heure de voiture avant toute excursion. Ceci veut dire aussi qu’il n’y a pas non plus d’eau potable (mais c’était indiqué dans l’annonce) ni de réseau mobile et que l’électricité saute régulièrement, ce qui a malheureusement fait griller la borne wifi pendant notre séjour. Concernant le gite que nous avions loué (l’Atelier), nous l’avons quand même trouvé très sombre (y compris la terrasse qui donne sur un mur de béton) et ayant besoin d’un réel rafraîchissement.

Perfect remote get away

We had a wonderful week here in the Atelier. It's a magnificent spot to escape the craziness of the world. The roads up to the property are stunning, views of forest clad mountains remind you of something out of Lord of the Rings. The gite itself is great, spacious, bright and airy, and the gardens and pool flanked by the mountain forest are just breathtaking. The kids loved the river too, and spent hours messing around with nets. We felt very safe here away from the unfolding crisis of COVID. There are no neighbours, just forest and you feel very secluded and blanketed in fresh mountain air. It was ideal. The owners have done an amazing job renovating and tending this old farmstead and the surrounding land and river. We went on spectacular mountain walks locally as well as some stunning wild VTT (mountain bike) trails. Some directly from the house and some only a few minutes drive away. The local town of Prats de Mollo is beautiful, quite, untroubled by the events in the outside world: calm and peaceful but with everything you could possibly need. It was the perfect break ... we'll be back next year! Craig and Family

Beautiful getaway

Such a beautiful gîte surrounded by stunning scenery. The accommodation was lovely and cosy with everything you would need. When we arrived it was uncharacteristically cold so Simon had lit a fire for us, very kind and and also very cosy! We had such a relaxing time with walks in the surrounding area and a few trips to the local park for our little girl. Simon was an excellent host, around for a chat and advice about the area which was lovely. He even dug out a little bike for our daughter so she could have a wizz round the garden. The grounds are stunning with butterflies everywhere. Really loved our stay here and would 100% recommend visit here. Also, the sky at night due to no light pollution is not one to be missed!

Verscholen tussen de bergen

Ondanks de afgelegen plek was ons huisje van alle gemakken en luxe voorzien. Heel veel ruimte, een goed geoutilleerde keuken en comfortabele bedden. Sfeervol houten chaler met een strakke moderne keuken. Alles brandschoon. Zwembad gunstig gelegen om ondanks de liggjng veel zon te ontvangen. De gastenverblijven zijn zo gelegen dat je heel veel privacy hebt. De eigenaar, Simon, was behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Prachtige omgeving, veel te zien in de dorpjes, je kunt ook mooi wandelen en fietsen in de buurt. Een memorabele slotweek van onze vakantie !

We spent a very relaxing week at Simon's place. Found everything in perfect state. With the good weather we spent most time out in the green, had campfire at the river and enjoyed the dark sky in the night. We are going to return.

Perfekter Urlaub

Die Unterkunft war so wie beschrieben. Alles was wir brauchten war da und wenn mal eine Kleinigkeit gefehlt hat hat sich Simon darum gekümmert. Die Gegend, die Unterkunft, der Pool - alles zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit. Danke Simon für die tolle Zeit und die guten Gespräche mit dir. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen

Idylle in den Bergen

Wir haben Erholung gesucht und sie in der schönen Ferienwohnung in den Bergen gefunden. Der Empfang durch den Hausherrn Simon war sehr herzlich. Wir konnten mit jeder Frage zu ihm kommen, er hat uns stets geholfen. Von ihm erhielten wir Tipps zu schönen Wanderungen, Motorradtouren und mehr... Die Wohnung ist urig und gemütlich eingerichtet, für den kleinen Kaminofen ist Holz ohne Ende vorhanden. Der Pool war auch im Spätsommer noch angenehm warm und sehr gepflegt. Wie auch der umliegende Garten keine Wünsche offen ließ.

Ruhige Lage, schöne Unterkunft und nette Gastgeber

Hochwertige Unterkunft mit schönem Pool in sehr ruhiger und zurückgezogener Lage. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber, deren Ausflugstipps unbedingt konsultiert werden sollten. Das Mobiliar und die Ausstattung sind gut, uns hat lediglich eine Spülmaschine gefehlt (die aber ja auch nicht angekündigt war). In drei Kilometern kleiner netter Ort mit Restaurant und Cafe (auch mit frischen Baguettes & Croissants), insgesamt muss man angesichts der abgeschiedenen Lage aber einige Serpentinenfahrten einplanen, um größere Einkäufe zu tätigen oder seine Ausflugsziele zu erreichen. Die Ausflugsziele selbst sind aber sehr abwechslungsreich, denn sowohl das Meer als auch alpine Teile der Pyrenäen sind innerhalb von 45 Minuten zu erreichen.

My wife my little baby and I spent 4 days in Can Llouquet and as you can see in all the pictures the place is amazing. Is a very cozy house in a really beautifull and calm southern france nature atmosphere.

We stayed in the Atelier in Can Lloquette from 17th June to 1st July 2017. We had a wonderful stay. The property is entirely beautiful… The swimming pool was wonderful and the natural plunge pool was magical. The Atelier was beautifully clean and extremely well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Our host, Simon, was always helpful and provided us with extremely useful information about lovely spots to visit and markets to see. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return again. We highly recommend Can Lloquette as a holiday destination.

A wonderfully peaceful and restful place to stay.

We had a terrific stay in Can Llouquette and would highly recommend it. It is a beautiful location. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the beautiful walks. The pool was great especially for the kids and there were lots of lovely places to visit in the surrounding area. Our only disappointment was the weather but that's life! The owner, Simon, was extremely helpful and welcoming and offered lots of terrific suggestions for where to visit. Overall, a great holiday!

A perfect, tranquil place in a stunning location

We spent a wondeful week staying in La Bergerie at Can Llouquette. It's a beautiful, tranquil place, set in a wonderful, quiet location, close to Canigou, one of the iconic mountains of the Pyreneés. Simon, our host couldn't have been more welcoming and took real pleasure and pride in giving us the most relaxing, worry free of holidays. Le Bergerie is a comfortable and well equiped Gîte, with it's own terrace and there's also a lovely swimming pool which is a great place to get to know any other families in residence. I can thoroughly recommend a week or two at Can Llouquette for a completely care free family holiday.

Idyllic mountain retreat with superb pool, immaculate accommodation and hospitable hosts

Can Llouquette didn't live up to our expectations - it surpassed them! From the moment we arrived, Simon made sure that we were comfortable, had everything we needed and was a mine of useful information about the region, what to do and where to visit. The gite was immaculate and equipped with everything you could possibly need, with the benefit of a large shady private terrace to shelter from the midday sun. There are 4 gites at the property, and L'Atelier proved a good choice for our boisterous and sometimes 'barky' dog as this gite is set a little away from the main house and other gites ... our neighbours were probably grateful! The grounds are beautiful, with a stream running through and lots of private spots for picnics and generally just lazing around. The pool was probably the best I have enjoyed in a holiday rental - big enough for a decent swim and with sun-facing terraces and plenty of comfy loungers ... and, like the accommodation and garden, was kept beautifully clean. Whilst I enjoyed lazing around the pool, 'himself' could just take himself off for several hours of strenuous walking, with mountain paths accessible directly from the property. Days out were spent frontier-hopping between France and Spain - the Sunday market in Comprodon (Spain) was a great place to do the food shopping, so you only need to arrive with the basics on a Saturday. All in all, a perfect spot for a late season break, although I imagine it could be even more beautiful in the verdant early summer-time.

Ein verstecktes Paradies

Zum vierten Mal sind wir in Can Llouquette gewesen und werden hoffentlich noch viele Male unseren Sommer dort verbringen. Es ist ein mit viel Liebe und Engagement aufgebauter und gepflegter Ort, ein Juwel unter den individuellen und besonderen Unterkünften. Die Kombination aus einer ruhigen Lage in den weiten Waldgebieten der Pyrenäenausläufer mit dem nur 45 min entfernten Mittelmehr und kulturellen sowie kulinarischen Möglichkeiten von Ceret und Perpignan bis Barcelona bietet es eine Vielfalt, die für Ruheliebhaber, Aktivurlauber, Kulinariker, Kulturreisende und Familien attraktiv ist. Dabei ist das Anwesen so professionell, wie familiär und warmherzig geführt. Vogelgesang, ein plätschender Brunnen und rauschende Bäume wecken einen am Morgen. Auf dem Weg zum Mount Canigou, in den mediteranen Pyrenäen befindet sich die ausgebaute ehemalige Schäferei, die perfekte Appartements sowohl für Singles, Paare, als auch für Familien bereit hält. Von Garten und Pool hat man einen herrlichen Blick in die endlos erscheinenden bewaldeten Hänge. Jedes Appartement hat seine eigene Terrasse, ist liebevoll gestaltet und gemütlich mit klaren weissen Wänden, warmen Holzmöbeln, komfortablen Betten und modernen Küchen und Badezimmern ausgestattet. Bei kühler Witterung kann man am warmem Holzfeuer lesend den Abend bei einem Glas Wein entspannen. An heissen Sommertagen bieten Pool und Baumschatten Abkühlung und Entspannung nach Ausflügen und Wanderungen.

Ruhepol im Grünen

Schon bei der Ankunft bei Simon fühlten wir uns wie bei guten Freunden aufgenommen. Wir bewohnten das Atelier, das sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und reinlich war. Am besten hat uns die Küche gefallen, all das was man zum Kochen braucht war vorhanden. Garten,Pool sowie das gesamte Anwesen luden zum Verweilen ein. Simon und seine Familie standen bei Fragen im zu Rate. Auch die Wanderungen, die uns Simon vorgeschlagen hatte waren super. Alles war einfach perfekt. Wir werden dieses Paradies mit seinen netten Besitzern mit Sicherheit noch einmal besuchen. Ruth und Waldmann

Am besten hat uns die Küche gefallen, all das was man zum Kochen braucht war vorhanden. Garten,Pool sowie das gesamte Anwesen luden zum Verweilen ein. Simon und seine Familie standen bei Fragen im zu Rate. Auch die Wanderungen, die uns Simon vorgeschlagen hatte waren super. Alles war einfach perfekt. Wir werden dieses Paradies mit seinen netten Besitzern mit Sicherheit noch einmal besuchen. Ruth und Waldmann

Ein paradiesischer Ort zum Entspannen

Wunderschöner Ort mit reizenden, fürsorglichen Gastgebern. Morgens bekommt man noch warme Croissants und Baguette im Körbchen vor die Tür gelegt. Diese kann man dann auf der Terrasse geniessen. Die Ausstattung der Häuser ist sehr stilvoll und perfekt.Sogar eine Bettflasche für mal eine kühlere Nacht-wunderbar zum schlafen wenn die Tage im August heiß sind.- gibt es. Der Garten ist zauberhaft angelegt mit Brunnen unterm Feigenbaum. Der Pool schon am frühen morgen gepflegt. Man kann sich noch weiter in den Wald oder an den Fluss zurückziehen ohne weit gehen zu müssen. Die Küche hat alle Küchenutensilien, die man braucht und noch mehr. Das kleine Badezimmer ist sehr schön in mediterranem Stil eingerichtet und hat unendliches heisses Wasser. Wir waren sehr glücklich an diesem Ort und wollen unbedingt wiederkommen.

Merveilleux

Can Llouquette, un endroit magique où il fait bon se reposer au milieu de la nature. L'air y est parfumé de lavande, et les sentiers nous mènent au bord d'un petit torrent dont l'eau glacée se fait un plaisir de nous surprendre. Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis avec le crépitement d'un feu de bois dans l'Atelier aménagé avec finesse et goût. Que dire d'autre sinon merci à Simon et Ashley de mettre à notre disposition ce petit coin de paradis.

Wonderful holiday, couldn't be happier.

Can Llouquette took longer to get to from Beziers airport than expected, and we arrived late at night. It seems very remote on first visit and after dark, but once you get to know the roads and get a feel for the place, the ten minutes or so to Montferrer or Prats doesn't seem too far. The track down to the cottages is very rough and when we arrived in a dark distant forest tired and hungry we couldn't have been happier with the warm welcome and the beautiful accommodation. The offer of a carafe of wine was most welcome, and we were so pleased that Ashley had put a travel cot in the spare room for our youngest, and a chest of toys for him, so thoughtful. The beds were comfortable, the cottage was cosy, and the view from the cottage in the morning was just amazing. The owners were very helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, and although we saw them around during the day they were not at all intrusive and really very lovely people. The pool was too cold to swim in comfortably in May, but no doubt will be fabulous later in the year. It's really a very lovely part of the world and I genuinely think we will return sometime. We would happily have stayed much longer than the week had our schedule allowed.
