Nice house in a convenient location
My family of 5 stayed here for 5 nights. The house and furnishings are older. Everything was clean and ready for us to move in. The location to Boston and surrounding areas was great. The owner, Daniel, is a very nice man. He lives in an apartment in the basement and does not interfere with your stay.

Comfy and convenient house.
Nice and comfortable home in which to stay. Love the washer and dryer. We enjoyed the nice weather and having the windows open during our stay. House is convenient to everything we needed to do in the area.

Overall happy but minor details overlooked
Parking is definately an issue. Small driveway with minimal space. Owner was there I believe living in the basement all week. My understanding is VRBO advertises that owners are not onsite . He was there all week and responded to concerns....but also questioned our use of the AC units. I asked ahead of time about the house having AC and I was informed it did. The problem was it was not central air but rather window AC units. This created a problem for the rooms that did not have AC in them. Only a fan was available and temps were pretty high the week we stayed We were also told that AC units should be turned off during the day. This is a 2story older home with Sun facing the whole house all day. It got hot and humid quick so we just left them on. We were told electrical and water bills add up. I just think that cost are not my issue as it's part of the rental pricebut the owner actually has it listed in his welcome booklet. There were minor details of the house that could of been "fixed" cracked tiles, unfinished ceiling and window screens/covers missing. The outside of the property was quite unkept which was unfortunate. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and neat. Overall it was ok and if a few of these issues were addressed I would stay again.

Cozy colonial stay
During our recent stay at the old colonial house, we had a pleasant experience overall. The house was clean and provided a comfortable atmosphere for our stay. However, it's important to note that being an older property, there were some expected creaks and squeaks throughout the house. And the decor is on the older side as well, but This added to the charm of the place. Staying at the house felt like being welcomed into a family's home. The warm and inviting ambiance created a cozy environment, making us feel right at ease. Despite a minor hiccup with the check-in instructions, which Daniel initially missed sending, we managed to reach him on the day of arrival. We found that communication via phone calls was the most effective way to get in touch with him. Once we connected with Daniel, he proved to be very nice and welcoming. His hospitality and friendly demeanor helped us settle in quickly. Overall, our time at the old colonial house was enjoyable. It provided a clean and comfortable space, albeit with some expected quirks due to its age. If you appreciate a homely atmosphere and don't mind a few charming noises, this place is worth considering. Just be sure to establish clear communication with Daniel, preferably through phone calls, to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience.

New England Respite
Very comfortable home away from home. Short drive to restaurants, groceries, hiking trails, or anything you need. Airport, downtown Boston easy drive away. Daniel helpful when needed but not bothersome.

Jacaranda House
Peaceful setting in a quiet Boston suburban neighborhood. Close to T station in Milton for the trolley connecting to the Boston area, week long pass was great choice.

Perfect for What We Needed.
This place was perfect. We had plenty of space, with a large kitchen and comfortable living room. The bedrooms were awesome, with skylights, air conditioning and lots of space. Considering the cost, this was an amazing value. I would reccomend to anyone.

Great Property!
We needed a comfortable place close to family for a week’s visit and Dan’s property was that and so much more. A well-maintained and comfortable house in which we instantly felt at home. Dan was a great landlord, attentive to our needs and a genuinely nice guy, making our stay all the more memorable. Thank you!

Nice and convenient
Second time staying with Dan during home improvements. Has everything we need - multiple desks so my wife and I could work from “home”, full kitchen, and lots of space. Would stay here again without hesitation. Only complaint was the snow and ice made getting in & out difficult.

We needed a place to stay for a week while some renovations were being done to our house. There was plenty of room for our family of 3. Having a full kitchen helped save on take-out costs.

A very nice family house in greater Boston
It's a nice house in the city of Milton, close enough to Boston and an easy access to I-95. The house has three bedrooms upstairs, one of which is a master bedroom and two others for the kids. Downstairs there is the Livingroom, dining room, kitchen and a small office room if you need to work a little during your stay. It's a cozy home if you are coming over to the Boston area with family and looking for a place to stay.

Great location.
This house is in the perfect location for all the places we planned to visit. Dan-the owner-is incredibly friendly. Upon our arrival he gave us a tour of the well-stocked house. The driveway is a bit narrow but, not a problem. We enjoyed our stay!

This property should be removed from VRBO and not be rented until the owner address serious issues
This property has not been properly cleaned or prepared for guests. We encountered bugs, many appeared throughout the house. Dirty and uncleaned surfaces throughout the house, I could wright my name on many of the window sills, stained bed clothes, TV's that didn't work, an owner who introduced himself while being very intoxicated and almost falling down in the kitchen, who happens to live in the basement, and a very out dated and definitely not representative of the reputation of VRBO. My wife and I were hoping to entertain at the house and were embarrassed to bring anyone there. Do yourself a huge favor and do not rent this property. You will be looking to leave as soon as you get there.

Extortion? Guests left without notice, after 11 days. They threatened a damaging negative review unless we paid $300 to cover 3 nights stay at Quincy Adams Inn. The hotel says they never stayed there! They lied about that. They lied in their review! VRBO is investigating. Obviously we didn't pay the ransom!

Very accommodating and Dan (owner) lives in the basement but very respectful of our privacy. Only one shower/bath for 6 of us but we made it work. 1/2 bathroom off kitchen.

The accommodations were perfect for our needs. We had a great stay. A couple of suggestions.....more garbage cans throughout the house. And carpet needs shampoo. Our overall stay was great.

Not far from downtown Boston
3 week stay, 2 women and a 10lbs terrier pup (9 years old). Daniel is a very nice host. Communication was always timely and pleasant. The house is huge, tons of space for anything. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything necessary for cooking. Plenty of toilet paper and paper towels were provided. Easy access to the house through a keypad lock with familiar code to remember and the wifi worked great throughout the house. Fairly cheap uber to the train station or just a 15 walk to the bus to the train. Shared ride economy car booking is btw $15-25 from the house to downtown Boston. Water pressure was good and always enough hot water. Daniel even offered to walk our dog whenever we couldn't make it home in time. I must say the whole house could gave been a lot cleaner... Also note, Daniel lives downstairs in the basement full time. He was always respectful of our space but there is no lock on the basement door to prevent entry and he will need to come up periodically as he has a live fish in the house and also his office.

Was perfect for what we needed it for.
The experience with Daniel was great, we extended our stay. It’s a perfect place to stay if you want to be outside of the city and you aren’t worried that you won’t be at the St. Regis. You can’t beat what you get for price you get it.

Adesuwa booked Jacaranda for her sister-in-law and three children visiting from overseas. They extended their stay for three weeks and wanted to stay longer but other guests were already booked. They are the kind of family that any host would welcome. Well mannered, respectful of the property, clean and friendly. We would welcome them back anytime. Dan A.

Dirty and landlord uses the house when you are out!!!
"A comfortable, secure, two story (sic) colonial home in Hyde Park. Whole House." reads the listing. The only true statement is it is a two-storey home. 1. It is not comfortable because the house was not clean, cobwebs and dust in corners and under bed. Living room and dining room carpet was filthy. 2. It is not secure because he has complete access to the home through the door from his unit in the basement into the home. When we blocked it with a chair and firewood, he entered through the back door when we were out. Before we blocked it, we could see him at his computer when we drove in (in our unit) but when we entered he was nowhere to be seen. He made coffee, used the bathroom and the place smelled of smoke. Who knows what else he did. After we blocked his quick exit, we found him again in the home twice. The house is so full of his personal belongings it is obvious that he lives in the upper unit. 3. It is a long ways from Hyde Park. 4. It is not the whole house with him staying in the basement. Although he was quick to point out that you could use the living room to sleep, his oxygen machine runs 24 hours a day and nothing was done when we complained. We had no WIFI for the week. Although he told us he was fixing it with a new router, the router sat, not hooked up, in the back corner of the desk across from the computer from our second day on. As others have pointed out, it is an extremely busy street with traffic 24 hours a day and it is difficult to sleep. The house is not air conditioned, there is only one unit in the dining room which does cool downstairs but has no affect on the upstairs and bedrooms which means you have to open windows which makes the night even noisier. I don't think he should be allowed to continue with VRBO (or any other listing) until he learns that the people who pay him have an expectation of privacy and he must ask permission to enter the home during their tenancy.

Nice host, but issues with place
Spoke briefly with the owner, who was very pleasant. Any communications prior to booking were quickly answered. However, there were a few issues. First, we were there during unusual heat for Boston area. Bedrooms, upstairs, are not air conditioned. He had pointed out there were sofas downstairs that were comfortable for sleeping. (So maybe not an issue if weather had cooperated.) WiFi not great, thankful that it wasn't necessary. (That said, my husband works remotely, so not having reliable WiFi was challenging, and could have been a serious issue.) House wasn't very clean, but more due to old worn carpet and broken tile. Bathroom should have been cleaner, though. House is also located on VERY busy street. Traffic kept us up (since windows were open) all night. One day, my dad came home early and it turns out the owner was staying on property, in the basement. If we had known that, it would have been a deal breaker. We had planned on doing laundry mid-trip, because of the laundry setup downstairs. Once we knew he was staying there, we didn't want to go downstairs. Price was good (compared to Boston hotel rates), but it came at a cost.

Dirty, hot, & loud.
The house was not clean. We had to vacuum the carpets and the bathrooms were not scrubbed. There was hair between the sheets, we had to wash the linnens. The house was advertised as air conditioned, no air in upstairs where bedrooms are. Two beds were just a single mattress on a wood board supported by milk crates, not actual beds. "Available" pool table was piled with old moldy clothes. Very busy, noisy street. Woke up Friday morning to find owner was there in the basement without our knowledge. Unacceptable! We left a day early and got a motel.

Perfect for settling down for the night then getting on with touring Boston. Close to Mattapan.
Short ride to the Mattapan trolly and public parking. Then onto the Red Line. Owner very nice. Felt safe. Great price!
