We go into great detail in our listings to explain what we are offering. --In Order to keep our prices Very reasonable for Boston, We do not have a front desk, Valet or Large Lobby area and are self check in. Most of our guests are here to visit Boston are looking for a quiet comfortable place to come home to in the evening and spend little time sitting in the Inn. Most all of our offerings are full apartments with living areas in the units. --Here at the Fort Hill Inn, we strive to provide clean comfortable peaceful guest rooms and full apartments in fresh historic Updated Properties with decor typical of the period all at reasonable rates. Just an FYI--Future VRBO hosts you stay with will also appreciate you familiarize yourself with the listings read and view pictures so you are not disappointed and then give them a mediocre review because you did not do your due diligence. If a lobby and communal area is what you seek, There are plenty of options in Boston that have large lobbies! They will typically run $350 and up, which is more than double our rates. We go into great lengths to detail in our listings and explain to guests what our offerings include and include accurate pictures of the units. Good to always read details as well as reviews to get guests feedback. We are always available to answer questions you may have. I did want to point out a few things in your review that may be a little misleading for future guests. We explain stairs are required and also give square footage of the rooms. The pictures are 100% of the actual guest room, building and common areas, pictures of steps are included. They are up to code steps and not a ladder. We have a very European type of architecture here in Boston and this is a very typical building for Boston. There are hundreds of thousands of buildings of this type in in the city. Most all have steps. Few have elevators. The room has most all of the same furnishings included in the pictures. We are continually updating mattresses, chairs, fixtures, and bedding in guest rooms to keep clean, fresh and comfortable for guests. Some of that will continue to change to keep up dated. We do put in the listing, we DO NOT have private parking. It is FREE on the street and we give very specific instructions about parking. Parking is always available within a few blocks. That being said, You must read the signs and abide by the rules. Boston is a very popular city and like many cities parking is a premium. In hotels the cost can be $50 per night and up. Some parking spots in the city sell for $500,000. Fortunately we have an excellent location here where a car is not needed. Subway is 5 minutes away, 5 minute ride to the center. Uber and Lyft ride shares are also popular here. It is another great option for getting around. Boston is a unique city with a very European influence, for those with limited travel experience we may not be a perfect fit.
