Charging as much as they do for the quality of their rooms should be criminal. Usually, when you spend $200 per night on a hotel you at least have a room with pleasant smells and functional air conditioning. We opened the door and it smelled like someone had just smoked a pack of unfiltered Marlboros. Turn on the AC/Heat, not much happens. Lay on the bed and it sounds as if you’re hitting a hollow metal door. I guess the only positive is that it was clean and the cheapest option for our visit to Salem.

We checked in and was having a friend staying to change in the room; had to pay an extra $30 because they didn’t allow visitors and wouldn’t allow her to at least change before her trip out of town. She wasn’t even staying in the room itself with us, it was not necessary. Overall, customer service was very unpleasant to deal with. 3/10!

We understand that you wanted your friend to change in the room before her trip, but unfortunately, allowing visitors in the rooms goes against our policy.The additional charge you mentioned was likely related to our policy on occupancy limits. Our queen-sized rooms are designed to accommodate two people, and any additional guests incur an extra charge to cover the costs associated with their stay.I apologize if our customer service did not meet your expectations. It was as expected!
The experience was short because we had to take a flight. But it was awesome. We are very happy that we were able to check in extremely late after wedding festivities. We would definitely recommend Chilsom's Motor Inn, next time.

Not clean
Not clean! At all! The toilet and sink were not clean. The refrigerator had mold in it. Under the table was not swept. One pillow was stained with make up and one had something crusty on it. There was black fur throughout. We were shown another room and the bathroom was in the same condition. We didn’t investigate any further. We ended up leaving. The only positive was they refunded our money.

I'd stay again.
Simple, clean, basic kind of place. Clean room and bath. Beds comfortable, extra pillows in closet. TV.. free wi-fi. Ground level. Free parking. No coffee, or food. Restaurants within 1/2 mile. I'd stay there again.

Bed sheets were not clean. While checking for bedbugs, I found a syringe underneath the mattress. The fridge did not work. Low water pressure. No shampoo, just soap bar. Definitively will not return.

Hi Eric, We are a baffled by this review as none of this appears to be true. And if it was, is there a reason you did not bring any of this to the attention of the staff or front desk clerk? We also went back into the room to confirm your review, however the sheets were clean, the fridge was working (brand new), and no syringe in sight. We even lifted the mattress and box spring just to be sure but nothing to be found there or in the trash. I hope you understand that leaving untruthful reviews can really hurt a small business and if there were any concerns during your stay all you had to do was voice it to our staff and we would have been more than happy to work it out with you at the time of your stay.

I liked how quiet it was, once you’re in the room, even though it’s on a busy street, the outside world disappears. It was very clean and organized, I will definitely consider staying here again if I am ever in this area
