We knew this was not a centric hotel before actually booking it, so that was not a surprise. The tram stops almost next to the hotel's door, but it's kind of a longish ride to the city center, so if that's what you're planning for, look at your options. We moved around in our own car, so that wasn't an issue for us. Other than that, the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and insightful. They even got us a full list of wineries to visit on Dec 30th and restaurants with dinner plans for Dec 31st. The only bad thing I can say about this hotel is the very poor selection of cable TV channels, unnaceptable for a hotel of this quality. Other than BBC and CNN, there was not a single channel in English nor Spanish and essentially none of the "popular" TV series were dubbed on the French channels, so unless you're french-speaking, you're alone in the dark. The beds are Novotel's std, apparently (we had stayed at another Novotel around Biarritz on the same trip, same bed); not the best one you'll ever try, but good enough. Room size is OK. There are a few family restaurants and even an Indoor Karting race track nearby, all handy if you are travelling with kids.
