The property was comfortable and felt like a home. The owners were friendly, helpful, and very responsive to questions. Loved the comfortable furnishings, the great deck, and the firepit. Relaxation and wildlife were both abundant. Groceries, shopping and eateries nearby. Would definitely revisit. Thanks for sharing your home.

Best place to stay!

The property is in a quiet location close to New River State Park at Elk Shoals. I enjoyed rocking on the porch and listening to the river below! The birds were visiting the yard and singing beautiful songs. The house is very comfortable and relaxing. The decor is heartwarming! It's a short drive to West Jefferson where we enjoy eating at Hillbilly Grill and Smokey Mountain Barbecue. We always make a stop at Ashe County Cheese Factory. We found different places to get ice cream every day! It was so peaceful and restful at the cabin! Can't wait to go back again!

Amazing trip!

I stayed here with a group of 7 friends and we had plenty of space! We hiked around the neighborhood and saw some amazing views within just 3 miles! We are already hoping to return next year. The amenities are great. There’s also a Walmart 10 minutes away, so shopping was a breeze. We visited the downtown area and got donuts and coffee. Highly recommend!!

Perfect and peaceful place

The cabin is a cozy, comfortable place to stay. The decor was warm and inviting to give it the feel of home away from home. It was peaceful sitting on the porch and rocking while hearing the river down below at Elk Shoals park. It's a short drive to West Jefferson and Jefferson where there is plenty to do. Lots of places to shop including the Asheville County Cheese factory, quaint stores and antique shops. Great places to eat including our favorites Hillbilly Grill and Smoky Mountain Barbecue. This was our first time staying. It was a blessing to be able to stay here. I have tried to rent before but it is almost always booked. I hope we can come back again! Love this place!

Beautiful place

This is a great place to stay! All nestled in the mountain with the New River at the bottom of the hillside. The cabin is very home like with everything needed to cook in the kitchen, relax in the living room, or relax on the porch. The men really enjoyed the ring toss game on the front porch. It kept them entertained for a period of time. We spent some time down at the New River which was quite picturesque. The owners and son were very quick to respond to any texts that were sent. Would stay again in the future.

Perfect Family Retreat

Our family of 8 needed a place to stay for an unexpected trip (funeral). I was so thrilled to find this as an option as we were specifically looking for a place that 1) had enough beds 2) outdoor space for kids to play and 3) somewhere not far from WJ. We are originally from west Jefferson and when I pulled up this option and saw the porch and yard and the house was nearly exact to the one we lived in, I about cried. It was home away from home. The owner called me within a day of booking to tell me more about the property and we ended up chatting for awhile as we from small towns know OF a person if we don't know them. He was so friendly and accommodating. The kids absolutely felt at home as soon as we pulled up and we wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back and found our "home away from home" for when we visit. If you are seeking a vacation "mood"... this may not be the place for you. This is a home in which you can feel like you are "home", cared for, tended to, and have space to let your family relax. Our youngest loved the player in the yard and the boys begged me to start up the fire pit, but due to our loss, we just weren't able to spend as much time at the property as we had wanted. This place was a 10 out of 10 for us all!

Quiet and secluded

Property is just as listed. Large enough for our group of 7. Check in was easy, Bill (owner) kept us up to date on everything, and his son, (lives down the road) came and checked on us after an ice and snow storm. Temp. dipped to 3 degrees, but the house was so toasty, we didn't even need the fireplace. If you want to relax and be off the beaten path, this is for you!

Secluded Hideaway

We stayed at the secluded Hideaway in Ashe County, and it was amazing. It worked wonderfully for my family. This was our Christmas get together and the property was just what we needed as far as room and amenities that were available. We had a wonderful wonderful time there.

Peaceful, relaxing

This was an awesome week! So relaxing. We look foreward to visiting again in the future. Even the young children enjoyed this place. The decor was warm and homey, which made it more inviting. The accessibility features were appreciated, even though we did not need to utilize them. Knowing it would have been available was comforting. Thank you for welcoming us to your property, we would struggle to say anything negative about the property or our stay. Even the people in the shops in town were very nice.

Beautiful property! Frequent visits from the hummingbird. Lots of games & entertainment at the house. Very quiet and secluded yet only minutes away from shops. Would definitely recommend!

Weekend getaway
