Really enjoyed our family trip up to Boone. It was great to see in the late fall to catch the tail end of all the leaves changing with that bit of chill in the air. The property push about 5 minutes away from the campus so it was really easy to walk the grounds and allow my daughter to check out app state.The owner was an absolute pleasure to deal with and had established a process that made it very easy to know where everything was and how to take care of things while you were enjoying the mountain life. Conveniences and updates throughout the wonderful old cabin blended new and old to make the time we spent together thoroughly enjoyable because we could focus on one another and not have to worry about what was happening within the rental.Property was extremely clean and the high end appliances in the kitchen made cooking meals an absolute delight but I will warn people not familiar with mountain life that you do have to be prepared for steep driveways. Just remember life is an adventure not a destination. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and hoped to be back up to the area soon.

My wife and I, along with our black lab Belle, spent 5 nights at Tanglewood cabin. The cabin is lovely and is located in a wooded area approximately 10 minutes outside of Boone. The host/owner, Diane, has done a wonderful job of furnishing the cabin, it’s very clean and the kitchen was thoroughly stocked with anything a guest might need. It has a fenced in back yard which was great for our dog. There is a small hot tub outside the cabin which would have been great but we ended up sitting by a fire in the fire pit every evening and never used the tub. There are several other cabins in the immediate area but due to the topography and tree cover, they aren’t noticeable. The gravel drive leading to Tanglewood is fairly steep but very manageable. We have rented many properties over the years and we both feel like Tanglewood is the best! We plan to return!

Tucked away on a quiet road, was very cozy and beautiful. Had all the basic amenities stocked for a comfortable stay. Even got greeted by a local friendly sweet pup during our stay!

We had a wonderful family weekend at the cabin! Every want was anticipated, even down to a dedicated pet waste station in the fenced yard. The kitchen was well equipped and nicely laid out. We look forward to coming back when the weather dries out a bit to take advantage of the fire pit and hot tub.

Great cabin and awesome stove!

Loved the new back deck surrounded by wild garden of ferns,flowers and trees. The fire pit was cozy. The master bed was as comfortable as a luxury hotel. I really enjoyed cooking on the chef’s stove. Just loved everything about the Tanglewood.So comfortable. And the host was very hospitable. Always giving updates and specific information about the cabin. No guesswork about anything. Thank you very much for such an enjoyable stay. Very relaxing.

Great Weekend Escape!

We had a great time at this cozy cabin this weekend. Our host was very accommodating for us and our kids (2&3) and the place was very clean and close to most activities in town! We had next to no issues, but when needed the host was reachable and prompt. Would recommend to other friends and will keep in mind if we return to Boone In the future:)

Easter 2025

The cabin was very cozy and private. The kitchen included everything we needed to make Easter dinner. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the mornings and evenings. The outdoor spaces are great for listening to the birds.

Amazing!

I'm a single mom of a teen and an elementary school kiddo. Rarely are there moments where both kids are satisfied or entertained in the same space due to age differences. But this space was the exception. My son loved having his "own" apartment and my daughter loved the loft play area with the toys,and art supplies. The family room is where we hung out at night. The kitchen was stocked so well I didnt need to use any of the items I brought, just in case. And to top it all off, the hot tub was the cherry on top. Thank you, Diane for an amazing experience and safe, cozy space to relax. I will definitely share about this space with others and hope to stay again!

Great cabin, tricky driveway

This was a perfect spot for our stay. Close to App State, skiing at Sugar Mountain, downtown Boone. The driveway was tough for our 2WD truck to get into. We had to go past and turn around to get in. Hot tub and kitchen were wonderful. Games and puzzles were fun for us.

Spacious and Lovely Home Away from Home!

This is a great place to stay, it has everything you need and lots of room in the living and kitchen areas! The apartment downstairs was great for our oldest and my twins loved the loft! The hot tub works well and was nice after skiing! We would totally love to stay here again!

Winter wonderland
