Comfortable cozy cabin close to the river

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Close enough to West Jefferson for short grocery and dinner/shopping trips, but felt secluded enough with a nice view of the river. Jeff was very accommodating and quick to answer. We'd definitely stay again.

Perfect Cabin in the Mountains

By far the best place we have ever vacationed to. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, spacious, well stocked, and was a home away from home.It's a bit of a walk down to the river but we drove down a few times and that was much easier. Tried fishing but weren't successful. Probably too cold. Just a 15 min drive to groceries, gas and restaurants. We saw deer but brought our husky so we didn't leave out corn. Played some fun board games and took walks in the snow flurries we got on new years day. Downtown West Jefferson is about 20 minutes away and has many cute shops. EB Jeffress Park Cascades trail is only 20 minutes away with a nice hike and waterfall.Highly recommend this cabin! Beds were very comfy, bathrooms so clean, and the entire inside is just beautiful.

A wonderful stay in the mountains

I just can't say enough about this wonderful property. The cabin is perfect...well stocked, super clean, private, comfortable, relaxing, feels remote but it's only 10-15 minutes to 'town,' view of the New River from the back, private deck.

Nothing short of fabulous

After a brief glitch at check-in (my fault) that was easily resolved, the fun began and didn't end til check-out four days later. My partner and I plus my cousin and her partner did not have a dull moment. The house was spotless with comfortable furnishings, well-supplied kitchen and nice decor. There were games, dvd's and books to amuse us, but all we needed was the river, the calm, clear South Fork of the New River. We splashed around in it and just watched it flow. Also had a couple fires in the evening at the riverside fire pit. The setting was so peaceful with no other houses nearby and absolutely nothing on the other side of the river. Our pooches EmmyLou and Harry loved it, too. Oh yeah, West Jefferson is a cute little town with a great farmers' market on Saturdays. Without a doubt, we'll be back.

Our family loved spending a week at this wonderful cabin with access to the New River. The cabin was clean and filled with so many convenient and thoughtful extras. The only thing that would have been better would be having more time to spend in this gorgeous and relaxing property..The owners were super responsive and very pleasant.

The Absolute Best!

Eight years ago we sold our cabin near Linville, and began renting a different cabin for a week, twice each year. We’ve found some very enjoyable places, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This cabin met every specification that we wanted: quietness (except for July 4 & 5 fireworks), privacy, cleanliness, communications with the owner, and watching wildlife - even deer and a bear - from our porch as we read our books. We wanted to book it for the same week (our anniversary) in 2025, but it is already reserved for all of July and August. That’s a testament to its popularity. It is a wee over eight miles into West Jefferson, and a little longer to Boone, but was much less crowded than the Boone/Linville/Banner Elk area. The nearby New River was always peacefully flowing by as we watched from the high porch as kayakers, canoeists, and tubers occasionally floated downstream with the current

New River Ridge log cabin

I would highly recommend this lovely vacation home! It was in a beautiful location just 15 minutes from West Jefferson and near many hiking trails, with the added benefit of access to the New River. It was clean, nicely decorated and well appointed. We also enjoyed the back deck tucked into the treetops. Book a few nights you won’t be disappointed!

Family get away

House was a great size, but issues with hot water in walk in shower that didn’t get resolved. House needed a good thorough cleaning outside of surface cleaning. Location of cabin is great. Felt seclude but within minutes of shopping.

Wonderful clean cabin

This is a nice, clean and private cabin near west Jefferson. The master bedroom is a good size and the two upstairs rooms are nice. The deck is large and overlooks the river. Nice quiet area to walk our dogs in. Only negatives are the walls/floors are very thin and you hear everything. The kitchen is smaller with really no prep area and no pantry. Husband and kids enjoyed fishing the river although only one bite. Dogs loved the water as well and the weather was warm for the season. This house was very clean! I recommend this cabin for families or a couple. Very quiet and private.
