Beautiful home with mountainous views and the trickle of the nearby creek set a relaxing tone. Kitchen is stocked with all the dishes, pots, pans and other things you could need for cooking. The grill worked great too. Everything was clean and some firewood was provided. The cabin is uniquely built and lovely to look at. Lots of space. Hot tub was great. Claw bathtub in the upstairs primary was clutch. Bring bubble bath or epsom salt. Lighting was a bit dim in some rooms but would definitely stay again. Highly recommend shopping at the Dollar General in the neighborhood. It’s the first cashless store w NO employee. It was very cool. If you eat at the restaurant in the neighborhood, remember to respect the dress code or you will feel underdressed. Would stay again.

Wonderful stay and fantastic house, would love to stay again! About 20-25min from Sugar Mtn ski area. Agree with recommendations for 4WD or AWD if expecting snow.

Needs a little updating

The property, location and responsiveness was excellent but some things need a little updating. I recommend bringing your own streaming devices. Also, if you go to the winery know that you cannot get back into eagles nest thru the same gate you initially went thru. There is a road out but you have to leave the community then re enter through the main gate. I only say this because we panicked a little but the agency was very helpful with guiding us out.

Avoid this place and Blueridge Mountain rentals - abysmal

Arrived in the evening to find the Direct TV hadn't been connected properly. The grill was ancient, with no working ignition, which Blueridge Rentals knew. The solution was to drop off a lighter the next afternoon that we had to use to grill. The grill itself was so old that the owners had written the temp settings in marker on the knobs. Its a health hazard! It didn't even cook evenly when it was finally lit. The upstairs outside fireplace wasn't working as the pilot light was out. When it was fixed the next day, we found the timer switch was broken and the fire had been on all night. Again - its a health hazard. With two young kids, this was an issue and we had to constantly call the management company to get anything done. We were constantly fobbed off and when they finally got someone to come and look at the issues, we had to go back to the property as he didn't have a key. The guy eventually let himself in via the garage. The place was probably nice when it was built 20-odd years ago but hasnt been updated since. The kitchen is full of odd pots and pans that look like someone's old cast-offs, the cooking utensils are also old (blunt knives, etc), had barely enough wine glasses for two adults and again they looked as if they were bought in a second-hand store. Dishwasher was old and only the top half worked which we found out was a complaint made some time ago by another guest! Can't be bothered to list anymore of the issues but haven't been contacted by Customer Service and when I emailed to complain, they merely fobbed me off with an email saying they had forwarded my complaint to the same woman who was unresponsive in the first place (Linda). Wouldn't trust these people ever.

Great property

This cabin is huge but still cozy. Great layout for a bigger family. Our teen loved having her own master suite. Our younger children enjoyed hide and seek around the home. The owner called us about a critter issue after hearing about it from the rental company (it is the mountains after all) she was very kind and concerned. The rental company, however, was a little frustrating. We asked to extend our stay and was told the property was available. We made plans to do so and then found out from the rental agency that it actually wasn’t possible. Very annoying after hiring a pet sitter and rental vehicle ( needed AWD) for extra time. We got snowed it for a day and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to be stuck. Gorgeous views and great family bonding.

Beautiful Mountain Top Home

Amazing home, more beautiful than the pictures... Well equipped with everything we needed, especially in the kitchen... This home is located far up on the mountain with great views. Most beautiful home around and Def need 4x4/AWD if snowing. We had a wonderful time and will be back. Highly recommend.

Great accommodations

We had a blast staying here!! Everything on property was just as advertised. Disappointed in VRBO’s description of location. The map that you click on to view this location is not close to where this house is at all!! VRBO needs to correct this and provide a more accurate location. This house is located closer to Banner Elk. Again great accommodations and house!! But location was very misrepresented!!

Amazing cabin

Beautiful retreat

Overall our stay was wonderful. The house is beautiful and the view is amazing. There were a few home items that needed improvement (dishwasher broken, oven door hung broken and falls on your feet, dirty sheets in hamper of master bedroom), but overall our stay was great and we will come back again!

Presidents’ Day weekend

Great stay at bear lodge. Met up with some friends for a ski weekend, and even though it was rainy and warm, we still made use of all the amenities on the property and the neighborhood , which were outstanding. Spacious house, great for a big group with lots of kids. Would definitely come back

Winter Wonderland

Awesome stay at Big Bear Lodge for Christmas holiday, with lots of snow on Christmas morning! The house is so beautiful and very well appointed, with lots of attention to detail. We had 8 adults - plenty of room for all. Loved the hot tub, pool table, fires in the fireplaces throughout the house, playing games at the big table. Kitchen has everything you'll need. Would definitely come back!

Incredible house

Pictures don't do this house justice. Everything about the house was exceptional. Only issue we had was the dishwasher not working properly but that didn't affect our trip at all. We will definitely be back to Big Bear Lodge!

Amazing!!!

This property was amazing! Stocked full of all you need for your stay. If you enjoy art Eagles Nest community will touch your soul. Property was extremely clean but there was some pet toys and other things under the kitchen table that would have been hard for the cleaning crew to see. Amazing views and plenty of spots to sit and savor the beauty. I will be back.

Perfect getaway

Company Ski Retreat

We enjoyed our stay in the Big Bear Lodge! Great team building and great location to Beech Mountain for Skiing. The house has everything you need! It snowed the whole time we were there, which made it even better. Would love to come back again!

Big Bear Lodge Review

The house is as grand as it is in the pictures! The hot tub did not work and the freezer in the kitchen did not work while we were there. The showers were AMAZING! Only basement I've been in with a porch attached. Pool table room is very nice with big screen tv. I would recommend staying here.
