Hidden Gem
This house was great and the pictures don’t do it justice! We were all very comfortable and the property was great for our group of 12 (with access to the other house). I would recommend bringing some extra towels for the hot tub, but other than that, this house at this price point is a hidden gem!

Awesome Home! Great Location
This house exceeded our expectations. Plenty of room and nice amenities. The house sits between Blowing Rock and Boone. We love and enjoy visiting both locations. After a long day skiing on the slopes, it was awesome to come back to a nice hot tub and relax. We rented the additional guest house that allowed us to bring more family for a great vacation. Jim was a great host and responded quickly with anything we needed. We will definitely come back for another great vacation!

Review.
The home was beautiful! The view from the master is the best. The upstairs AC did not work; but he had window units so it wasn't terrible. The internet was also hit or miss; but that seemed to be everywhere that weekend. Overall it was a fantastic stay!!

Great Getaway
We really enjoyed this property. The downstairs area offered plenty of space. The house was clean and well taken care of. The house has some complex lighting that took some time to get used to; however, this wasn't difficult to figure out. The owner was easy to communicate with and timely with responses. I would recommend this property.

Beautiful cabin and mountain views
We stayed Jan1-3 for a quick weekend with 14 in our family to go snow tubing at Hawksnest. We rented both the main house and guest house and had plenty of room for the adults and kids. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of seating. This house is very high tech so we did have issues with determining which light switches controlled each light and also adjusting water temps in both master baths. We enjoyed the hot tub, however, the deck was super slick due to some moss or mildew build up on the surface so would recommend some maintenance there to prevent any slips or falls. The owner was very responsive when we had questions about the property and was very helpful. Overall we had an amazing trip and would definitely stay here again!

Be Careful. Due to limited space on VRBO we were not able to finish this review.
Be Careful. As it stands at the time of our stay the property is not as advertised. There were quite a few problems with several of the basics of the house. The property manager Jim did try to resolve the issues but trying to scramble at the last minute to put a bandaid on problems is not sufficient in this supposedly "luxury" property. Jim tried to turn us into his property manager by asking us to install grill grates, accept delivery packages etc. It is not our job to be a property manager during our vacation. When we refer to the basics of the property this includes the fireplace was broken with half of the sliding glass laying on the hearth and someone had burned wood on top of some oddly placed ceramic logs. The fireplace was a mess and it took our time and effort to clean it, and prepare it to be able to use. The hot tub was nasty. It needs to be replaced. Half the jets dont work, the pillow pads have been removed due to deterioration. There is a lid opener but it doesnt work. A person did come out 1 day into our stay and put in chemicals. For 3 days after, the chemicals were so strong it burned our eyes and therefore we were reluctant to to use the hot tub most of our stay. The gas grill was absolutely disgusting and was unusable. The grates were actually a disgrace during this time of covid. Jim did have grates delivered and had people try to install them. The grill burners would not work. The entire grill needs to be replaced. We had bought steaks and burgers to grill but we were never able to use the grill due to its nastiness and being broken. Jim asked me to install the grates if I wanted to. What a joke. The main kitchen stove had a burner that didnt work at all and generally the stove is in disrepair. The burners either are on high or low. There is no in between temperatures. The main kitchen dishwashers are in disrepair. One dishwasher did not work at all and the other was not sufficient to get food off of the dishes. The clothes washing machine upstairs did not work. The key pad did not operate the unit. The showers that were used in the master and one spare bedroom either the water was scalding hot or the water just trickled out. It was not enjoyable to take a shower. Utensils in the property. The utensils were unsatisfactory for a large "luxury" house like this. After informing Jim he said the utensils were probably in the guest house and we should have let him know so someone could have gone and gotten them. In summary,

Family Christmas Mountain Retreat
We had a lovely few days with family for an early Christmas gathering! The home met and exceeded all of our expectations and requirements with plenty of space for us all to spread out and enjoy. Location is nicely situated with a great view and conveniently sits between Boone and Blowing Rock.

Worked out well, spacious, in nice surroundings according to family members who went, my wife and I had to cancel due to illness. Some minor issues which other reviewers covered. Our kids and grandkids had a great time and appreciated the house and the surrounding area.

Nice Home with a Beautiful View
The house was just the right size we needed and the views were gorgeous. Nice location for a beautiful, but not long, drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Blowing Rock. Owner was very helpful when there were questions.

Beautiful home. Enjoyed the gorgeous area. The only complaint would be the regularity of hot and cold water in showers. Otherwise lovely. Oh, and expect air conditioning.

Wonderful House, Great Location!
The house was a perfect fit for our family (7 adults, two young children); everyone had space so we never felt crowded. The upper loft/game room made for great space for those who needed to get to their work computers and doubled as a workout space for non riders/hikers. The deck made for awesome extra space (we brought a corn hole and the kids enjoyed their bikes and scooters). Only advice, the deck gets very slippery after a rain. The hot tub was great. We were a bit concerned the first evening after the big move-in and dinner preparations (fabulous kitchen; we're avid cooks) because it was warm and there's no AC. However, one quick text to James (dealing with a hurricane himself) and he explained just how to open lower and upper level windows in the house....and he was right. The house never felt warm after that. We did NOT rent the guest house, but would probably do so the next time with another grand on the way. Thanks, James!

Great spot, secluded but nearby to Boone.
Had a great time once we figured out (clumsily) how to operate the lights and fans. Good kitchen to cook in and lots of space there and throughout. Owner is responsive and timely.

Great home in Boone
Great home and great location! Very comfortable. We took my 80 year old parents. Was the perfect house for them. No steps getting in the house and they had everything they needed on the first floor. Will definitely rent it again. Also, had the pleasure of meeting the owner and one of his daughters. Very nice family.
