Heated Pool and Sauna: Dive into our large heated pool (15m length x 7m width) or unwind in the sauna after a day of exploring. We also have a small children's pool (2.4m x 2.4m, 0.5m deep) for family fun.

Large Kitchen / Living Area: In the beautifully renovated kitchen and living area, equipped with Bosch appliances and a 55” LED TV, you'll find ample space to gather and unwind. There is a 10-seat dining table for everyone to enjoy meals together.

Courtyard and Garden: Step outside to the spacious courtyard and garden, where brick barbecues, a table tennis table, and fruit trees await. There is an outdoor table for al fresco dining.

Five Bedrooms, Five Bathrooms: With five bedrooms and five bathrooms, there's plenty of space for everyone. All bedrooms have blackout curtains for a peaceful sleep. Two bedrooms have large en-suite bathrooms with powerful showers. Two other bathrooms have bathtubs, with one further wetroom near the pool with a shower. Four bedrooms have double beds, with the fifth having a double bed / single bed bunkbed for flexibility. We also have two cots and a toddler bed if needed, please just let us know when you book.

Owls: There is a family of endangered Eurasian Eagle Owls who nest above the roof of Bedroom 1. If you hear noises at night above the bedroom, it is the owl family. We love the owls and are happy they share our home, but depending on the time of year this is not necessarily the best room for light sleepers.

House in Two Sections: Our villa is divided into two sections, with a front house, corridor, and annex, providing privacy for families and friends. Perfect for everyone to have their own space.

Two Reception Rooms and Study: Dedicated working area and living rooms to relax.

Wifi and Amenities: Stay connected with WiFi networks at both ends of the house. We also provide a dishwasher and washing machine for convenience. And since it's Portugal, feel free to let your clothes dry on the washing line outside!

Parking: No parking restrictions in the village. Lots of space for multiple cars.

Peaceful Village Location: Casa do Freixo is in A-dos-Ruivos, a charming village about 50 minutes’ drive north of Lisbon airport. The nearby countryside is characterised by vineyards and fruit trees, with plenty of beautiful walking routes. There is a small playground directly opposite our kitchen window which is perfect for little children.

Lots to Explore: Explore nearby Bombarral for supermarkets and shops, or visit Quinta do Sanguinhal for wine tastings and lunch. Indulge in delicious meals at Mãe d'Água and Dom José, or venture c.15 minutes away to the historic town of Óbidos. We are around 25-30 minutes away from many of Portugal’s most famous beaches, including Praia do Supertubos, Baleal, Peniche and Foz do Arelho. This is a world famous spot for surfers.

Important Safety Notes:
1) The tap water is not drinking water as it comes from our well. We recommend bottled water.
2) Children must always be supervised in the pool and sauna area.
3) Upstairs kitchen is not intended for rental, it is gas and we are trying to go all-electric! Please use the new downstairs kitchen.
4) Please keep the door to the swimming pool locked when not in use, to ensure children do not go out unsupervised.
